Grant pondered the option of moving, not sure they could even reach the castles from the road. They looked awfully far in the distance, but he certainly was not going to shoot down an idea without even trying it.
And Anna seemed to be for it, which made it even more a viable option. Support always grew after the first few voices, and if they were cohesive they would at least not have to worry about bickering: that was the worst thing they could do. And not just because he hated fighting with anyone, and had no experience in it to speak of as he always gave in. But because, at least in the movies, when people started fighting with each other they didn't need an enemy.
Cool heads, patience and the will to compromise would prevail.
He looked over to see Ricky and smiled at the introduction.
"Hello, Ricky. I like your accent. I'm Grant." He did like his accent, and didn't seem to have a filter on compliments. But he smiled easily and looked at Anna again.
"If you really want to, we can certainly try it. I don't suppose it would be any different then just staying here, though we might have been called for someone to meet us. We did all appear in this one spot, and my mother always said if you were lost you should stay where you are." He smiled again, shaking his head, "but I'm more than willing to keep you company, and see where this road might go."
He noticed Cathleen a short distance off, listening to the floor or something similar. He hoped she was alright, and not panicking, but she was a bit too far for him to go over and try to comfort her. Everyone had a method for dealing with this strange event, it seemed.

Raphael's hands were dirty. And he was somewhere new. But the worst part was that his hands were dirty, with bits of half-dried mud clinging to his fingers and spread across his palms. It wasn't enough to be standing on a rainbow in the middle of nothing, with someone's giant bass doorbell ringing in space... but he was standing on a rainbow in the middle of nowhere listening to a bass doorbell and chattering, with his hands muddy.
And the project he'd been torn from would be ruined, he knew. It was going to warp and crack and he'd have to throw the whole thing out, and figure out how to find that interesting gray-green color all over again. Ugh.
Raph began trying to brush the mud off; most of it was dry, thankfully, and very crumbly in the first place... he was wearing a long-sleeved button down shirt and slacks, with no handkerchief. Of course the day he was pulled onto a rainbow in the middle of nowhere, he would go without his handkerchief. Maybe someone would be kind enough to help.

Layton let out a very audible squeak, as she thought she was being kidnapped (once again?). Here she was talking to a man, and the next moment a big scary monster demon thing was kidnapping her. It was going to eat her too right? That's how these things normally worked. "P-please sir I really d-don't t-"
Her voice was cut off as she recognized the face of her big brother Callum. A big brother, which she adored above all else, even if he didn't quite reciprocate the same feelings all the time. Immediately she jumped up a little bit to wrap her arms around him and squeeze him. She loved her big brother.
His words made her confused though. "Dead ..." The word felt funny on her tongue, like an unexpected peppermint had just flown into her mouth and made a nest. "D-dead. We're d-d-dead?!" Layton's eyes went wide. If Callum told her something, it was probably true. He was a smart accountant type after all, right?
As she came out of the hug, he began wiping her hands with sanitizer. Most would probably give him odd looks, but Layton was used to this. She just nodded her head and said, "I won't touch anything, I promise Callum." She was serious too. She wouldn't touch anything even if he hadn't said anything. It was rude to touch other peoples' things!
If there was a noise in the air, Layton didn't hear it. Not only was she not listening, at the time of the first chime she had been squished into Callum's chest- so any chances of hearing it were completely null. She did notice the look on a lot of other peoples' faces though; a look that said "what was that?" She knew something was up, but it was in the back of her mind. At the moment she was too enraptured with Callum.

Molly saw the signs. She wasn't dumb, this was an alien attack. That's why they got so many people to harvest then and eat them. That had to be eat and this sound to call them to dinner. It had to be it right?
She turn her head to his head, you could tell she was worrying it was all over her face. She was scare and nervous. Something that she shouldn't be. She let out a small huff and turn back to where the sound had came from. "Ok well good, I'm not the only one that's hearing thing, that's good." She said with a half smile. She wasn't going insane, like Raven who had kiss a nerd. All her sense was here which made her feel a bit better.
As he ask his question, Molly turn to face him. Hmm, she had never really thought about that. It wouldn't make any sense if they where. How where they breathing if they where in this "space" That was basic science. Everyone knew if they went outside of earth the would need a suit. She ponder for a few second before answering, "I'm not sure, Jett....I'm really not sure, but wherever we are I just want to leave as soon as possible."

Another shrug. “Most likely yes, but at the moment it doesn’t look like we can do much.” Felicia quickly looked at Felix before she wormed her way through the mass of people toward Gilbert. He considered following the younger girl’s lead—while Gilbert had yet to organize everyone, he seemed to know what he was doing—but a soft voice distracted him. He furrowed his eyebrows as he searched for the source. “Could you repeat that? I didn’t hear you.” It took Felix a moment to realize that the person was actually a small girl (Layton).
He stopped, slowly blinking as he took in her tiny stature. This girl appeared to be incredibly young, perhaps attending middle school. She was nervously fiddling with her braids and Felix’s expression softened. “Are your parents not here? You can stay with me until you find them, if you want.” Felix offered his hand for the child to take.
Then there was a sound. The first time around, Felix missed it, but the second time it echoed he heard it. He lifted his head and looked around. Where had that noise come from? Afterwards, he heard Gilbert shout for everyone to steadily make their way to the nearest castle. Castle? For a few seconds, he stood on the tips of his toes to peer above the crowd and indeed, somewhere in the distance there was a castle. He was somewhat suspicious of the building. Shelter was good, but what if someone unfriendly occupied the castle?
A rather fussy voice broke Felix’s train of thought. He focused his attention back at Layton and saw that someone (Callum) was busy fretting over the girl. Callum seemed too young to be a parent, so Felix assumed he was a sibling or friend.
And to be honest, Felix wasn’t impressed. “Dead? You must be out of your mind. If there is an afterlife, this certainly isn’t it.” He let out an exasperated sigh as the child naively believed the other man. “Let me reiterate: we’re anything, but dead.” Felix clearly remembered that he was studying before all of this commotion began. There was no way he could have died.

Jett continued to massage his considerably aching head and sighed. This was ludicrous, this whole situation was. And in the distance he could hear people talking about a castle? Well. How fantastic.
This definitely wasn't a dream. Which was almost--almost unnerving Jett. If it wasn't a dream, or a hallucination, then it had to be reality, right? No one here seemed to know what was going on, and while Jett couldn't make heads or tails of the situation, he didn't know whether or not to be pleased that he was in the same boat or to just be angry about it.
He fell quiet for a bit, just listening to the loudest chatter in the area. It was true that it didn't seem like they were going to get anywhere by just standing around, and he noticed at least one group collecting with the intent to go investigate a castle that he couldn't even see from here. He glanced to Molly again, hands now resting on his hips. His eyes were half lidded and whatever adrenaline rush he'd once had, he'd now lost.
"All I know," he concluded, "Was that I was just in my house, brushing my teeth. I don't know where we are, or why we're here. Molly, do you believe in fate?" he asked; he wasn't looking at her as he spoke, once again just scanning the area and trying to take in everything he could to find out if anything had changed since he'd first arrived. "...Because I've never been the type of guy to just sit still and let the world move around me. And standing here, doing nothing, is driving me insane. Those people over there?" he gestured towards the group. "Maybe they have the right idea."
He was going stir crazy standing here. "And I've half a mind to see where they're headed. You coming?"

Cathleen thought about finding someone who look like they may have some sense and know what may be going on and sticking with them. She saw enough horror movies to know that sticking in a group mybe her best option of survival. She saw Grant a little over in the distance and decided to stay close to him. She made her way over to him and stayed close enough to him to listen to whatever he may have to say be ready to move if he did.

Now that he was more certain that he wasn't dreaming, Ian took a moment to glance around. There was a wide variety of people running, or rather, standing on this weird road, and it looked like they were beginning to mingle a bit. It was a good idea, and he noticed an older male who was all muddy. He seemed interesting enough, and Ian made his way over towards him. " Here," he said to Raph, offering him a handful of napkins. They had been leftover from lunch, and he had stuffed them into his pockets to put them in his dorm, except he had forgotten to take them out. " I don't have any water to wet them with, but at least it might help get the worst of the dirt off."

"A whale?" Yes. Yes, that could possibly be it. Might possibly be it. This Amy girl was seeming more and more intelligent as they went along. Very smart. Good to keep around. Mental note made. Of course, as Regina was making those mental notes her mind was almost making mental leaps, skipping over a good number of them right into bounds and warps at light speed. Aliens and whales. s**t. "Watch out for potted plants and if anyone asks you what the answer to the question is, let them know it's forty-two. Also. Big ugly aliens that offer to read you poetry? Run like hell." There. She'd covered all of her bases, now she could let her attention drift back to Joce and the newcommer, Anna, was it? "They need us for something, clearly, what we don't seem to know is what... But hopefully we'll find out sooner than later, don't you think?"

“Might be dead. Might.” Callum tried to reassure his sister that it was only a possibility, even though in own mind he was roughly 85% sure that he was dead. The fact that his sister was there as well made him start to doubt it, but the evidence definitely pointed to their being somewhere otherworldly.
His heather grey eyes flashed a glare at the person Layton had been talking to. “How would you know!? You’ve never been dead before!”

She stared at Regina for a moment trying to figure out if she'd heard what she thought she'd heard. "Does the concept of science fiction mean anything to you? Vogon's don't exist. Also ... nevermind." She shook her head and tried not to groan. She liked Douglas Adams as much as the next person but -really-.
She hadn't really minded that Amy had been clinging onto her but it would be easier to move if she wasn't being clung to. "whale does sound about right though. It was either that or a bell of some sort."
All that made her think of was 'for whom the bell tolls' and she didn't want it to be tolling for her.
"We should try to get off whatever this is." She waved at the rainbow under their feet. "Maybe try heading toward whatever those buildings that can't really exist are. I don't think it would be pleasant if the road decides to disappear while we're still on it"

Raven glanced to Mary, listening to her pronounce that strange name once again. "Yeah...I think that might just be a little too many syllables for me to remember...Can't I just call you Agrabah? I love Aladdin...if not, I guess I could call you Mary...that's a nice name too. Simple, cute."
Cute? She was actually? Ugh. Whatever.
When Darwin spoke she sighed then laughed. "Yeah, but, if they didn't shy away from you because of the ungelled hair and bushy eyebrows, then they could get to know the real you, the you that you want people to know."
Oh god. now she was offering advice to the poor dorky kid? Well...she really did like the color of his hair. Green was always one of her favorite colors, apart from red.
When the strange noise made its way past her ears, Raven frowned, looking around, her hand slinking out and taking Darwin's, if only by accident. "...What was that sound?"
The blonde glanced around, trying to pick up some snipits of the conversations of others. Castles? There was a castle at the end of the rainbow? What, was it the My Little Pony castle? Oh. Wasn't that amusing. Well, she supposed it didn't really matter. She had a group, however small it was, and she intended to stick with it.
...Maybe she should go eat her words and apologize to Jett, he was a big, intimidating guy. Perhaps he could add to the safety of the group...And Molly too, she was perfect for fodder...she would get eaten by the giant space monsters first, that's how it worked. Cheerleading captain feed the members of the squad to the scary things, and they run and stay safe.
Classic.

Natalia was just a few strands of patience away from stamping her foot on the ground, er, pathway. It seemed the castle-bound group was still determined to go. Ugh, did no one hear her when she said 'that noise might be some sort of monster!?' UGH!
Sure, she didn't want to be a sitting duck staying in the same place, but uh - she didn't want to become some possible space dragon's lunch. Not that she would. it was her dream after all.

Mal stared at Grant, tilting her head. "Woah, man. That's some heavy nihilist s**t right there." She angled her unlit cigarette at him, fixing him with a wry look. "I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure rainbows in space indicate something." True, none of them knew what that was, yet, but as much as Mal preferred to just roll with things, she couldn't completely abide the situation. Her normally easy going demeanor was set on edge, what with the yawning infinite and all.
She was about to delicately explain to Anna the subtleties of sarcasm when she found herself cut off by a good old Southern boy. He smelled like alcohol and called himself Ricky, a description Mal felt would be more fitting in a Bob Dylan song. "I'm sorry, but isn't a large group huddled together a prerequisite for mass killing?" Her face screwed up with a look of displeasure, looking upset over her own comment. "Sorry, I'm not usually this blue. My name is Mal. Remember it so you can scream it out in anguish whenever something bad happens later."
She lifted her hands into the air, taking on an expression of exaggerated distress as she moaned, "Maaaaaaaal." She looked to the others as everyone started moving. "See? Like that. We should all practice so we're really good at it when the time comes."

"Oh, thank you." Raphael smiled at Ian -- it was definitely a smile of relief. In this sort of place, you'd need all the friends you could get, right? "Any little bit helps at this point, right?" With the napkins, he could get the worst of the crusty mud off his fingers at least-- the mud on his palms would have to wait until it dried a little more or they found water, somewhere. "I'm Raphael -- does anyone know how we all ended up here?"
