With fingertips still uncomfortably numb from the electric eel over at the fishing booth the ghoul wandered aimlessly for a time before coming to a slow stop outside a rather foreboding looking building marked with a grotesquely bright sign advertising a haunted house. What was a haunted house? Painted lips pursed thoughtfully as she glanced around the sign and door for any notion that the place was exclusively for ghosts, assuming it must be some sort of elite club for the solidly challenged. Finding no such indication narrow shoulders rolled in a shrug and she stepped forward to open the door and walk inside. Always curious, never not curious.

Blinking in the dim lit just within, she paused to let sensitive eyes adjust before recoiling in a horrified cringe. It was so PINK! And sparkling.. What the Jack had she just wandered into?

There was a brief internal cursing of racial instincts before, cautiously, she made her way forward. Glancing over towards the stairs fleetingly before moving past them towards the hallway, vaguely recalling every good movie she'd ever seen ending with someone being brutally mauled after having the unfortunate foresight in running up and away from any and all emergency exits. Merry would be sticking to ground levels for the time being, thank you very much.

She continued along her set path until she came across a group what she had to assume were her peers based on varying breeds, races, and colors. Silted gaze lingering on a rather pale figure with midnight hair and a long bushy tail, before jumping to the others. Boil with fluffy hair and large wings, androgynous sort with long blue hair, .. something vaguely insect.

"What have I found here?" The grin that followed was positively devious.

((Hallway))
She knew of several students who had left their homelands to attend Amityville Academy—this well known, prestigious school, as far as learning the arts of FEAR and all of that wonderful stuff...Natalia figured that the same interests those varying individuals had for parting ways with their own kind, would also be behind Edel's reasoning’s as well. Leaving family for greater adventures seemed to be a part of life, not one that Natalia was familiar with personally; but a fact nonetheless, and so although she wanted to inquire further on the matter of the frost demons heritage...she simply did not.

Instead she was pulled along by Muka, Vero near her side, with Edel on the opposite end of the strix boil and together they passed through the halls on what seemed to be a never ending path. She was thankful that nothing else seemed to be popping out at them for now, even quite fond of the eerie stillness that surrounded them; aside from the eyes in portraits that followed her as she passed them by...It was comforting almost. Apparently, the mass kitten murder had gotten to her.

Some ways down her name was called, and in response she swiveled her head over a shoulder and looked toward Edel with brows raised. Experiences? At the school? "Oh, darling! So far everything I have experienced has been quite enjoyable." Emphasis at the end left Natalia flicking her tongue and chuckling in delight. Thinking back on pleasant times often did that to the ghoul, and for a moment she seemed to detach herself from the terror that this house could drop upon them. Train crases, deadly boat rides, angry gnomes...she figured it would be best to leave the painful memories out of her answer, since they were sort of hard to recollect anyway...handy tool the mind can be. "It is not like any establishment I have ever been to before. You can stay in your dorm all day, do all of your homework, come out at nearly twelve in the morning and you will find a student here or there doing this or that, causing trouble all around. I would not advice being out so late, of course...Detention is a horrible experience. So I have heard, anyway."

And it was not by accident that the ghoul’s eyes trailed then to a white creature that approached their lot and made her presence known, Natalia’s own pale lips sinking beneath her fangs while a brow rose with interest. Fuzzy ears twitched beneath fallen blue strands of hair, mouth parting once again as the pause was momentary...allowing for a quick and effortless once-over before continuing..."Classes can be difficult, and the way they are taught...well, at times it sort of confuses me how we are to learn a lesson. But trust that every activity has its purpose. But there are other things to do outside of school. This town has a lot to it, so to be honest you should never truly be bored…unless you do not have any money to go out or friends to call upon. But I do not see that being a problem for you." Smiling toward Edel, hoping she answered the question completely for the demon, Natalia pulled at Muka's sleeve so as the group could introduce themselves to the newly arrived...goat ghoul?

With wings?

No matter how long the monster had been around the school, new faces often surprised her more than would be expected. Her tongue made a single round on her lower lip, pursing them together so as to make both the top and bottom glisten ever so slightly. Kitten debris still covered her for the most part, but with a sway of her hip and the release of the strix's arm (mind you Vero still had a hold of her free hand for lawls) to let it rest on her side--The werelemur tried to accentuate all of her curvaceous features.

And with the charm and grace that Natalia often bore, and with the thoughts of this frightening house vanishing once again from her thoughts, she addressed the ghoul. "I would be careful if I were you, wandering these halls alone could prove to be a nuisance."

Muka listened, riveted by both Edel's information and Natalia's description of life at Amityville.

"I hope they have special curfews if you are say.. a night owl?" His own cheesy joke sent the strix into a chain of screeching giggles but he tried to calm them down a bit when a new ghoul approached.

He turned to a new person, his own tawny wings ruffling on his back and tucking up tightly to accommodate for the narrow hallway. He could sense the subtle change in Natalia's behavior. It was something that competed and matched the appeal of this new ghoul. Muka, of course, was not affected by such things and barely understood the motivation behind them, but he could see it and smell it on both ghouls.

"Well hello.." Ulmuka took the rainbow winged ghoul's hand and brushed his gentle kiss across the back as he did for every new ghoul he met, though Edel remained on his other arm. His kiss was a dangerous one as only his thin lips separated her soft flesh from his jagged, tearing teeth. "You have beautiful wings if you don't mind me saying." His grin was static of course, his expression never changing.

"Beware of kittens.." It was his only response to Natalia's playful comment about being careful. He, of course, was a master of smashing teases and innuendo with his absolutely flat commentary.

[So much reading! *is actually delighted* <33]

Vero was thankfully swift by nature, because it imagined with all the noise between the slowly-grouping-together denizens, one would be lost. As it was, its large dark eyes managed to catch ahold of what was before it: the winged one bowing and introducing himself as an "Ulmuka", the frost-eared one also bowing and calling herself "Edelweiss, Edel for short", and . . . now they were all linked hands and arms as if to move forward.

Some of the aggregates were content with this. Very, very content.

{Better to be in numbers in a place like this,} one thought to the rest, who all agreed in a rare example of unity.

But oh, how the little insect scribbled! While Fur-Ghoul, "Natalia" as it was reminded, was holding one of its actual arms, beneath the rims of the tattered cloak lied two far smaller and less moveable ones - still, they had the scope and dexterity to scribble, and oh how it went!

Edelwiss aka edel: Frost clan, Zaira. Blu hair. Polight.

Oolmooka aka Mooka: Unknown. Wite and brown wings. Poonty teeth.

Natalia aka ???: Fur thing. Blu and wite. Protektiv. Student: has good informashion.

Vero decided that Natalia's introduction for it was good enough and merely nodded to them. As it was, they didn't venture far before they saw another new face - pale as a ghost, and yet splashed with vivid color. Its eyes widened slightly as if to take it all in.

Wings. Hooves. Horns. "Chimera?" the little insect piped in as a suggestion, glancing at its present comrades. Mooka was rather forward with his hand-kissing; it added another note.

Likes using mouth.

Amber eyes turned in her direction and Merry watched as the other pale ghoul took obvious stock of her physique before turning to offering what she could only imagine had to be an expected response to the blue haired demon for a question she hadn't been present to hear. Allowing the perfect chance for for Merry to return the favor, slitted eyes traveling at a leisurely pace from the tips of the lemur's pale toes on upward to a lovely cascade of indigo silk and the pretty face it was framing. Absolutely lovely, and if that one hungry look had been any indication, there was more the two shared in common then simply color.

She waited for the other ghoul's attention to return, and it would return, of that she was certain. Pale hand coming to rest on the jutted curve of one barely clad hip. Bright wings unfolding floorward before settling neatly along the line of her back. Tail flicking casually along behind her. When she had drawn the monster gal's eye for the second time she smiled, both to her and the boil's she had in tow, before an altogether inviting hint of pink drew her attention to the sweep of a tongue along the bud of of the monster ghoul's lower lip.

"So I've noticed," she mused softly, taking appreciative notice of the accented curves. Pale chin tilting gently to one side as she rather shameless admired the other ghoul before flicking bright eyes back up to meet molten amber. "Lucky thing I've run into you lot, then. Wouldn't you say?"

The winged fellow earned himself a rather roguish grin at his compliment, flashing her own set of pointy teeth. Colorful feathers fluffing gently before settling again. She did like a compliment, oh yes. "Thank you, yours as well." His warning was a wee bit vague though. "Kittens?"

A squeaked declaration of her race made her blink, glancing down to the hooded figure the other ghoul was still holding onto. Scarlet brows arching gently as she considered them. "Yes, that's right." Clever thing.

The appeal of a haunted house was enough to make any festival attendee pause in wide-eyed wonder. The thrill of the truly horrifying so seldom encountered in these lands was enticing to any adventurer or, in Levia's case, to those with a macabre curiosity.

There was the briefest of hesitations as the grombie stood before the two openings within the entrance room. She was not one to put herself in harm's way, afterall. The pursuit of the unknown was too great an invitation, however, and Levia found herself with renewed determination. But which path to take?

Red eyes traced the towering archway that lead to the staircase, remembering the massive height from the outside. The other path appeared to lead lower to the ground.

Part of her decision was a subconscious one; the undead had a tendency to feel perfectly comfortable when under the earth. The primary driving force of choosing the hallway, however, was that she couldn't tell how deep or how vast this path was. A tower was a tower above ground, its limitations pre-determined. A passageway underground could stretch far and wide, and it was this unknown that gave the heralding call.

Setting about at a leisurely pace, Levia observed the path carefully, wondering if traps had already been sprung. The capacious silence was a comfortable one, although the horror house was true to its name and gave sporadic sounds and grotesque images of things so cheery that Levia wasn't sure that she could even remember their names. It was a few moments later that the pale creature began to hear the voices of others, following the winding halls until she found the sorce of the voices.

((Anyone up for a hello? The group seems to have their hands full already so wasn't sure on jumping in : x))

Muka's humor was oddly infectious as his first joke did not go without a short giggle from the monster, slipping another hiccup of laughter even when he finished with 'Beware of kittens..' She deduced it was the way the boil laughed that stirred her so, a long line of teeth unhinging in his cackles...but...deep down the dryness really did tickle her fancy, deep down there somewhere.

She listened as each (excluding the lovely Edel) of the members assessed the ghoul, finding the strix's comment to be lacking in some very important areas. Watching as he leaned in and placed that kiss upon the others hand, Natalia breathed the words in a content sigh. "Beautiful wings...beautiful face...beautiful...figure." She could not help but continue to trace the curves with wandering, eager orange eyes; lingering in forbidden areas as the chimera's focus bounced from one to another. Before she brought her attention back to the lovely white face, she tilted her nose in the air and gestured it toward the ghoul with a look designed to emanate lusting.

But in the presence of the three who formed their original party, Natalia rolled her gaze away and looked off to the side as the others spoke.

Muka would probably overlook the gesture, if he even saw it at all...Edel, well Natalia hoped she had not been looking--but if the frost demon was anything but judgmental then a blind eye might let Natalia get away with her usual antics. Not that any of them were aware of just how awful Natalia could be...But It was Vero who would probably make note of her motions, and it was for Vero, mostly, that the monster settled for playing 'nice'.

Unless the other ghoul prompted her otherwise...no...still she would play nice...maybe.

And for good reason too...he was such an observant little thing.

The first word since the kitten incident was chimera from the insect spirit, and as the monster glanced between the new female and Vero, she herself made a mental note regarding the boil in her grasp. She was curious though, as to what species the goat ghoul was, but not fully interested in the specifics.

Or at least not those specifics.

"You should tag along with us, miss." She nodded her head, jerking some in surprise as another bang came from down the halls...shifting her shoulders and straightening once again almost instantly when the noise passed. "Miss...?" The question hung in the air, beckoning a name of some sort as its answer...

Coming toward the stalled group was another unfamiliar face, and to it Natalia offered a quick glance, and a long smile...come one, come all she supposed. It would always be safer for them to travel in numbers...

This had been proven many, many times since her arrival at Amityville.

Tsubaki just glanced around a little nervously as everyone started to move on and continue down the hallway, inwardly wondering if that was the wisest move considering what they had just dealt with. But there was something about the were lemur that kept nagging at her... which was only increased more since it seemed that she was feeling the same way. So rather than turn around and go back the way she came, Tsu began to head down the hall with the others.

They seemed to have gathered a small group, and upon further inspection, the small insect spirit boil that had shown up seemed to be tagging along with the were lemur and her companions. More the merrier, though despite not enjoying crowds, she felt she was making some progress today... especially in such a confined space. After a few moments she caught up to their group and took some time to just observe who all was there before speaking... giving a small wave to the undead ghoul who had caught up to them as well.

((Sorry about that! Getting on earlier is difficult for me, so yay for catch up posts. XD Feel free to have Levia tag long with us Lady Mist, Tsu is usually more quiet and not good with crowds, but decent once she gets to talking with people. ^^))

Indeed, Natalia's assessment of the little nature spirit was true: it was hard to avoid much if Vero was looking in that direction. And he caught every bit of the interaction between the fur-ghoul and the chimera: the odd gestures, the subtle movements in body language, the purrs behind voices.

Of course, it did not have the slightest clue what mode these ghouls were in all of a sudden.

What it did understand was that it was correct in its assessment of the bright-colored ghoul, to which is nodded. "Chimera. Amalgamation of lion, snake, and goat. Usually female. Analyzing behavior now," Vero listed off as they were greeted by two more ghouls of very different appearances: one who looked well dressed and the other which . . . hardly seemed to have much clothes on at all.

It blinked.

"Please be careful," it stated to them. "We are host to ignominious glitter due to kittens. A sharing of clothes might be necessary to avoid further contamination."

Glitter wouldn't get off of them. Seriously.

Another few seconds. Then it swiveled its head to the chimera again.

"Analysis ongoing, but we are reaching several conclusions as a rationale to promiscuity: multiple animals in one host body may cause imbalances in hormones, lead to need to attract others in order to regain balance. Or perhaps defense mechanism to let one's guard down. Or perhaps occurs naturally within personality." It blinked. "Is it one of these?"

Ulmuka seemed to ignore the very overt gaze of Natalia on Merry. He was more intrigued that their group seemed to grow exponentially and equally interested that Vero, their insect friend, was so easily able to guess and analyze what the newcomer was.

"Oh!" He leaned down to the bug boil. "Guess me!" Would his little notepad of clues help him distinguish Muka's species?

His joy was palpable! He even released Edel's arm and in his excitement scooped up both newcomers. Though they hadn't even shared their names with him yet, Levia and Tsubaki would find them in the grip of the strix boy. He hugged them both, lifting them slightly off of the ground with a giggle.

"The more the spookier!!"

Obviously he loooooved being social. After he'd expelled his excitement through scooped up the ghouls, he placed them both on the ground. He didn't apologize for touching them without permission. They would definitely have to tell him if they didn't like it, because he didn't seem to notice that his actions were out of the ordinary.

"Now.. Now..." His head tilted to the side. "Names all around!" He pointed a talon at the chimaera, yuki-onna and the undead ghoul respectively.

Pleased at encountering no apparent, danger-inducing antagonism, Levia nodded her head in greeting. When the word "miss" was left hanging in the air, it occurred to Levia that it was she who was being addressed, "Oh, yes, I am-"

The abrupt motion of the room tilting made Levia blink in surprise, belatedly realizing that she had been pulled in to a hug. It was a strange sensation, being held in a friendly grasp by a stranger. Most people didn't exactly care to touch those of the zombie branch, what with the rotting body parts and exposed bones and all. Levia was thankfully not the exact species of zombie to decompose in such a manner, but the sentiment was likely still the same when others considered her. She could only reason that such a greeting was common here then. Either that or the haunted house had truly scared everyone in to desperately clinging on to what little non-horror things they had left, undead included.

"Levia," She managed to squeak out in the midst of the hug, eager to learn of everyone else's names as well, "I am called Levia."

Back-tracking through the conversations she had walked in on, the grombie looked around at all the new faces. The strange analyzing bit was intriguing, but as she had missed the beginning of the context she was unsure of how to even approach the subject, "What was this about kittens..?" She had been fortunate to miss the first sprung trap it would seem.

((Aaghh, I'm still trying to find everyone's journal so I can figure out who is what and get all the names matched XD *was distracted by the main thread*))

Merry caught the hinting look and returned it, though she too would attempt to remain subtle in any dropped hints or meaningful glances she offered to the lemur. To her at least the signs would be obvious, of that she was certain. "Such a silver tongue." Slitted eyes narrowed slightly. "And every bit as beautiful." As the corners of painted lips twitched upward in the presence of a satisfied smirk, the ghoul rose her hand to rest it, fingers played, across her chest, mouth opening to introduce herself before her jaw snapped shut at the sudden noise. Pale fur raising on end along shoulders and neck. This place, it was very unnerving, even with the lovely distraction before her.

Settling, she was quite ready to resume introductions with another two ghouls approached from the rear. Gaining from the Chimera a rather appraising look each before she had turned back around to stare keenly at the little spirit as he rattled on. He was a odd one, but he was very sharp.

"Nearly perfect," she assured, held tilting curiously. "A few more beasties in the mix, you see." Further talk of kittens had the chimera ghoul glancing about her feet uneasily before rather stubbornly lifting her head once again. Those bright eyes narrowing on the insect at Natalia's side. "Clever," she murmured, pointed ears twitching back. "Right on the button, though once again you've left a few bits out. Still, very impressive." The missing bits were the driving instincts towards dominance and territorial gain.

They were getting sidetracked though, and it took the Strix's urging to remind her she had yet to introduce herself. "Pardon my beastly manners, you may call me Merry." She giggled faintly at her own pun Before looking pointedly back towards the werelemur, gaze lingering there, then to those around her. "And you all?"

Mitsu wasn't so sure, the ball pit had sucked Shun down like some sort of horror movie. It nearly left her wanting to rock in place remembering the sight. When Xiu approached and gave her a hug Mitsu curled in toward the girl hugging her back. She wanted to believe what she and Poke were saying, that Shun would be fine...but where was he?

Thankfully for Mitsu, she didn't have to wait long to find out. Her ears fell back when the ball pit started to jingle up a storm making her fearful of what was going to happen until all the balls just popped and disappeared leaving the poor victims at the bottom of the now empty pit. Standing back up again she saw Shun emerge from the pit and like a puppy who had missed its owner all day she approached with a wagging tail.

"I was worried." She said softly nodded to Shun's command to go. "Are you...." That's when the smell hit her full force. The lupine had been able to smell the flowery scent before but.....Shun was coated in it. It made her nose wrinkle a little on how strong it was...and was that pink lipstick? "....are you okay?" She finally finished after the long pause.

[[Okay I lied. THIS IS LAST POST FOR A WHILE HONEST.]]

((Hallway))

”More? Hum . . . How unusual. Or perhaps not. Chimeras by definition are a mixture: three perhaps was not enough. Vixen? Known to be females who pursue others. Other felines? Cats known to be possessive and push scent on others . . .”

It could not help but add the above; Vero was obviously a talker when prompted, and when presented with new species it was even more obsessive about knowing the truth.

As usual, Vero decided to answer both ghouls’ questions at once. ”We are Vero, and we implore you to watch out for the kittens; they tend to explode into horrible goo and glitter.” In case they didn’t know what it was, it pointed to itself, Natalia, ”Mooka”, Edel, and even the well dressed ghoul who was new.

Mooka asked for a similar observation. A guess? Vero blinked, then nodded. It enjoyed stimulating its brain and study new species, for one’s compendium could never be full enough.

So it stared for a while at Mooka. And stared. And stared. Then a blink, followed by an odd conversation-with-itself.

“Winged, tan and brown. Must correct, no white. White on head. Wings. Feathers. Peryton? No, not peryton, no horns visible, no hooves . . . Skinwalker? No, no skin to use, teeth far too sharp.

“Gryphon? No, no sign of fur or feline features; talons and slit-eyes misleading . . . More avian. Raum? No, wings do not fit coloration or structure of a crow. Tengu? No, also crow.

“Sharp teeth. Ghoul? No . . . obviously a boil.

“Perhaps vampire? No, vampires are bat-like, not birdlike. Fury? No, too well dressed, smiling not snarling. Hummmm . . .”
The noise fell into a silent, actual humming – not from the mouth, but like the sound of many wings beating.

It blinked again.

“Restarting search, must be unknown species to us. Birdlike, yes. Sharp teeth. Odd hair – top sticks out like ears or tufts. Bird. Tufts. A horned owl comes to our mind,” Vero said with a nod. “Though no horned owl we know of has a need for meat. Are we close?”

Poor Mitsu was clearly distressed, and with nothing else they could do, Xiu stared intently at the ball pit in hopes that the reaper would surface. Fortunately, it didn't take long until they saw him again--when the balls began to disappear, she leaned forward to scan the now-empty pit, face brightening as she saw Shun among the others who had been caught.

An even brighter grin spread over her face as she watched Mitsu approach Shun and, standing back, she waved from her own spot. "G-glad to see you're okay!" The Baku chirped, "Welcome back." Though obviously something happened down there, Xiu noted, her gaze moving towards the lipstick marks that covered the boil. Did she want to know?

...No. Probably not.

Before they continued on, she turned to face the dragon ghoul, her smile becoming meeker as she held out a hand to shake. "I-I should introduce myself. Um, I'm Xiu. And you are...?"
