Kronos nodded, approving himself. He was happy that he had managed to learn one skill while Conner was away. Maybe he would learna few more. [1/8]
Kronos was still debating on whether to continue training or not. If he trained, no doubt he would learn more in the long run. But it also took more energy to learn by himself. [2/8]
After a while of thinking, Kronos came to a decision. He decided he would continue training. That way when Conner or Beth came back, he would have improved a bit. [3/8]
Kronos went and picked up his book on mage skills. He opened it and began reading through it. After a while, he found a collection of spells he could learn. [4/8]
The cluster of skills were all similar, but with different effects. He decided to learn the electric one. This would allow him to taze people simply by touching them. [5/8]
The electric skill he was to learn was simple. It was called shocking grasp, and would be capable of incapicating any enemy who tried to get too close. It was a useful fallback plan, should anybody happen to make it past all of his spells. [6/8]
After Kronos figured out what the spell was about, he got to work. He began charging energy into his left palm. Soon enough, he could see red and black lightning bolts arcing all over his hand. [7/8]
Kronos decided to test the skill. He walked over to a target and grabbed it's shoulder. When he let go, there were still little bolts of electricity roaming all over it. [8/8 shocking grasp learned]

Kassandra When Kassandra stepped inside the dim building, she immediately looked at the Mage boy. "You!" She called out, "Come here. I will assist your training and watch over your next test to rank up. My name is Kassandra." Her voice was loud and domineering, she was usually always this way until her students proved themselves to her.

Kronos looked up from the book he was learning from. Although his face showed no sign of emotion, he was relieved that Somebody had come to train him. The dreadnaught closed his book and placed it in his little pack. "Hello Kassandra. I am Kronos." the man said in his always polite yet emotionless voice, giving her a slight bow. Such was common courtesy when greeting a mentor. "And you can teach me some skills in the arcane art?" ((I cant believe I didn't see this post earlier... FAIL))

Kassandra "It is what I said I was going to do, is it not?" She said sternly. "I am a Mage, myself, child. Quite gifted, or so I'm told...ahem. Okay, Now you will learn Illusory Wall. Its a fairly easy skill, and useful since foolhardy men rely on their sight rather than their other senses." Illusory Wall Rank: C Description: This spell creates the illusion of a wall, floor, ceiling, or similar surface. It appears absolutely real when viewed, but physical objects can pass through it without difficulty. Touch or a probing search reveals the true nature of the surface, though such measures do not cause the illusion to disappear. [two post]

XXXX"As I saw it happen, I began to see that I could not ever belong." XXXXXXXXXXXX
''Sup Wynne." The boy said, as he walked into the training grounds with a sense of pride in his voice. ''I happen to be a mage... too. And I'd like to know if you can teach me. But for now, lemme finish this up... haha, I totally ditched the queen to be here. Lovely, huh?" Strangely, he immediately jumped to flinging his spells as he rushed to complete them. The first was Mage Hand, and honestly, there was no struggle in this. It was simply picking up an object with his energy and then letting go. Basic. Even for him. (1/1)
The next was mystical impalement. As he read and observed each simple letter, simple symbol within the scroll, he easily understood the procedure. Forcing an abstract form of energy in his hand -- the energy of creation -- he rammed it against the floor as a shockwave of energy forced outwards and spears plunged before him. ''Well, that was simple enough, I suppose." Allowing them to sink back within the ground, he patted the dust off of his hand as he looked around for more skills to learn. (1/1)
The fourth and final ability he chose while initially speaking to Elizabeth was one of his main element, fireball. His hand swimming within the air in a circular motion -- he gathered energy within the oxygen as he created a cutting friction. The current of oxygen around him empowered the smoldering heat he formed around his hand, and when it grew to be enough, he released it in an in-particular direction. It seemed that -- at least in his mind -- he had gotten alot more proficient with these spells as time passed, even if the time that passed was thin. (1/1)
The next two skills were simple and did not need any real effort. Fireball (even though there's already a D ranked skill with the exact same name that I just learned...) and flame deflection. One offensive -- which Mages generally focused on -- and one focused on defense. The first was extremely simple; he channeled flame energy into his fists as he punched forward, a small glimpse of fire reaching out and striking a nearby wall. The sad part was, it wasn't even strong enough to make impact. (1/1)
Flame deflection seemed just as simple. All he really did was focus energy around him, before lighting a flame above his palm. Ramming his palm against the highest piece of energy concentration, it was quickly deflected, and this was a sign that the skill had been learned. With that, he had possibly eliminated all basic techniques he wanted to learn. It was only unfortunate that he could no longer learn another C-ranked ability. But then, that would be changed soon, wouldn't it? (1/1)
And finally -- at least for this moment, he came to his last ability. Fire Stream. Despite it being a lower rank, and thus, easier to learn, it seemed just as useful as lightning bolt. With a whiff of his hands, and a concentration within his palm, he held his gauntlet forward as a stream of flames short forward. They did not diminish or extinguish until the little boy forced it to do so himself. To be honest, he felt kinda weird performing so many spells in front of these people, but at least, something they all had in common, was a fascination with the arcane arts. But then, they could always have been idiots. Only time would tell. (1/1)

(too lazy to use my junk, lazily made format anymore... lol)
After spending a bit of time to recuperate, he took his earth techniques into consideration. He only decided to learn two for now -- but really, at this point, that would be enough. The first was simple -- earth and stone levitation. Really, all he did in direction to that ability was pick up a stone with his energy -- something he already learned to do with Mage Hand -- before hurling it against the wall. After that -- he decided to learn Rock Shield. (1/1)
This technique was a little more tricky... though, really, not enough to puzzle him at the moment. Flicking his hand upwards, he drew a sizable body of rock before him, meant to protect him. It was nothing amazingly impressive -- but it would stop bullets and arrows in their tracks, and leave him time to use other, more powerful techniques. However, he realized that at his current rank, he did not want to expend too much energy, so every skill had to count. But these were things to think of later along the line -- he was not learning skills just to decide he would push them aside for management. (1/1)
(That's 13 skills... gimme advancement! lol
I wanna use my new format already...)

GhostAdam Alvarez, Dog of WarGhost had found the place that looked exactly ike a training area with targets, dummies, and all the nonsense, though it was a soldier-like training area... he wouldn't be able to train in a place like this with his bombs or he would blow the place up into smithereense. He saw 3 other people in there... which greatly discomforted Ghost. He liked being alone all the time, so he sat down in the northwestern corner, avoiding being seen using his ghostly gas form, and just sat down there, as he took his booklet out, and studied these warriors while they trained. Kassandra Kassandra looked at the Mage who had walked in and called her 'Wynne', she clenched her fist. "My name is Kassandra, foolish boy." However it looked like the boy was already training himself, "You are promoted to Novice, continue your training."

I am not like your neighbor, or your friend. I am me. And that enough makes me perfect. ❞ ''Haha, alright Kassandra. Sorry about that." Being told to continue his training brought both a displeased sigh and a slight smile. Perhaps things were going well for him. Perhaps they would continue this way -- even though it was unlikely. However, these thoughts were for a later date. For now, he focused and continued on his long path of near-constant training. The first technique was a bloodline related one. Pure Needle, an attack that, though useless until a higher rank, could possibly serve a purpose for him. He focused his energy into the form of the needle -- envisioning it, and then, as time went, creating it. However, immediately after making this, he drained back the energy he had spent on it and watched as it limped over and fell, now rusted and withered. (1/1)
The next was Haste. Not all of being a mage was destruction, some of it involved strengthening and weakening the beings around you. This was one such spell -- a technique that he would use to strengthen he or his allies. At first, it was simple -- he attempted to channel the energy into his body, where he would then temporarily loosen up the restraints his body held, allowing him to go faster. Of course, it did not work, but it was the attempt of someone who knew no science -- only relying on the false logic of their own mind. (1/3)
The next attempt was to speed up his heart and lungs. Of course, this was dangerous, as forcing such an energy near them was... well, stupid, but he tried it anyways. As far as he could see, if you were not willing to take risks, then you would not gain sufficient power. However, despite the attempt, it seemed to do absolutely nothing, though it did make him feel a little weird... (2/3)
And finally, he focused on his body's ligaments. By speeding them up simply by inserting energy into them -- he saw that the spell quickly began to work. He was now more relaxed, but not only that, his speed increased considerably. And since this spell could be used on more than one person -- he began to see how much this could do for him, and how much it could do for his country. (3/3)
Further following "haste" was "slow", which would cause him to benefit even more. As far as he could see, the enemy being slower meant him being quicker. And combined with haste, this was perhaps one of the most advantageous skills in his current arsenal. However, obviously, as he had no one to use it on, at least not without getting punched, he was forced to -- reluctantly -- use it on himself. But as always, the first attempt did not bear any sort of gain. It failed, though this did not really dampen his spirit. It was expected, and for him, it was okay. (1/3)
Through the second attempt, he began to realize that, even if he succeeded, he wouldn't be able to notice because haste was still active upon himself. So, withdrawing the energy from haste, he focused his energy on the slowing spell once again. Of course, it didn't work, but then, he already knew that. What he needed was more of a balance -- concentration became increasingly harder to gain the more his life went. It seemed that, no matter how much clarity his mind held, there was always chaos to push this peace away. (2/3)
Finally, on the third and final -- perhaps charmed -- attempt, his body began to slow as it increasingly began to feel... odd. Almost as if it were being weighed down -- and he did not like or enjoy this feeling. Yes, it was irritating. He almost immediately released this spell, his eyes slowly going from the spectrum's blue to purple -- Xander's neutral emotion. However, he was a bit happy to have learned the spell, and that enough would keep the smile on his face. (3/3)
The next technique was Aether Barrage -- much like mystical impalement though at the same time, far from it. It was not launching or pressing -- it came from his own orifices as his energy dictated. The first few moments he spent only studying it within the book -- looking at its released form, picturing it in his mind and almost seeing it come from his own self. Five spikes coming out of him -- though causing him no harm, as they force themselves to reach a target. This technique would make it dangerous to get even remotely close to him, and that enough made it worth all the while. (1/3)
As he studied the energy patterns -- the symbols, and all that was left in learning to use a spell, he finally came upon the conclusion of what he needed to do. Focusing his energy around him -- making sure to be as cautious as he could, he managed to create one of these pikes outside of his body, though not the rest. However, that was because he was only using some of his energy -- any overabundance would only carry great risk. He took this as, surprisingly, a good sign, for the ability to control, mold and manage his energy was one that mages everywhere spent years to perfect. He -- however, was born with it, the ability living and dying within his own demonic hand. (2/3)
Finally, he went for his second attempt, his fervent focus channeling energy to five points as he took a deep breath. He was concentrated, not giddy, hyper or rowdy. And this allowed all five to come out smoothly. And now that he had known what to do, any further attempts could be done safely but without fear -- though hardly safely for his opponent. (3/3)
The next ability was "blasting energy". A technique alot like the modern-day "grenade," though magical and with a further range. Of course, he knew how to create explosions, that would not be the problem. The problem would be containing the energy within such a frail shell for a long period of time -- or a long distance. So for this, he began to think of what sorts of energy soaked up other types -- and if those energies were able to absorb it, before releasing it outwards. It was all very... scientific, though he tried to keep brief on the details. However, he already knew what to do. (1/3)
Forming an energy orb within his hand, he opened a slight hole within it where he began to pour more and more energy. The outer energy was defensive -- specifically made for sealing magic within. But the reason he used this specific type was for the reason that, along with its defensive capabilities, it fed magical power the longer it rested inside. Eventually, the magic would inflate and inflate so much that it would not be able to hold it, and then, boom. However, that would take quite a while. Instead, he used his knowledge of compressing and decompressing magical energies so that, whenever he wanted, he could force the energy out in the same amount of power it would release if trapped inside. (2/3)
And finally, he put this to the test. Obviously, making explosions within caves wasn't smart, so he used his levitation to keep it within the air. And finally, he forced the energy outwards, forming a large explosion definitely capable of killing those unprepared. Impressive, though not entirely useful in most situations. (3/3)
The next technique was "alarm." It was some sort of ward around the area that gave either impersonal or mental messages to warn of intruders. He figured that, if he were ever alone or camping out, this could be a lifesaver, along with the fact that it would prevent any possible assassination. It wasn't a physical alarm -- it was an area-wide spell. That would be... useful. But, like the other skills before it, it did not seem simple. It was difficult to grasp how he would learn such a spell with his current stock of energy -- but that was alright. If he studied and focused before he attempted, then he could pull off this last spell before taking a break. (1/3)
From what he could tell so far, by looking at the images, the symbols and the words, it was alot like a mental tripwire. A stream of energy connected from you to a circle of magic. The circle was the alarm-zone, and if anyone touched it -- whether by ground or air -- they would be detected, where it would then make a pinging noise inside of your brain. However, they could also speak a password -- which would allow them to pass without making a sound. It also seemed that they could, if by choice, make an alarm that alerted everyone -- though it was never good to let the enemy know you've spotted them, so that was a feature he would not follow. (2/3)
Finally, putting this knowledge together, he managed to create the zone for the alarm -- and that was enough. His energy supply was low, perhaps even completely diminished, but he was not tired. He wanted to explore, even if only for a time. He would not be leaving Amaranthine, his home. He would be leaving his sedentary lifestyle to see if the world still had anything in store for him. ''Thank you for everything, miss. I'm going to check something -- I'll be back in a while. Not sure how long "while" translates to, but... eh." As he walked from Luray, he made sure to restock his energy by draining the strength of the surrounding materials. Nearly every step meant another nearby crater -- almost all of the rocks within the cave becoming frail and dull as he reaped whatever life he could. (3/3 exit)

GhostAdam Alvarez, Dog of WarGhost kept sitting in the northwestern corner still writing down his findings, as he watched this student leave. He was studying every detail about everyone here. How they moved, spoke, reacted, and every algarhythm he could take out with his math. He kept writing down complicated numbers and letters that most minds could not understand. Ghost was a theoretical physicist and experimental physicist, after all, and a dog of war. His mind raced, as he still kept writing down complicated numbers studying anyone left in here. Be human. I am not like your neighbor, or your friend. I am me. And that enough makes me perfect. ❞ ''Well... I... I guess I'm back, eh?" The boy said, as he attempted to wash off his dominant depression. He didn't even want to talk about it, he just wanted to train. And inside of his mind, he hoped Vincent was doing the same. He missed him, already. Whatever it was about him, he just drew out so much emotion -- forcing it outwards, leaking it everywhere around him. Yes, as it were, he was a bit moody because of this. And even disappointed in himself. ''What kind of man are you?" A strong one, he continued to tell himself, though somewhere along the line, that response became void.
But this was not the time for his mood. This was the time for training -- power. Yes, that was more important than whatever he was feeling right now. This would secure his future, and allow him to walk, as he did, along life. The first ability he wanted to learn was "Comprehend Languages". However, such a thing became coherent to him at this point. It was easy to learn -- inserting energy around his skull, he could already begin to read the more "ancient" pages of the book he carried. (1/1)
He moved next, to energy coat. This technique allowed him to block weak attacks -- though it wasn't all that reliable, in any way, really. Spreading energy around the outer surface of his body, within only moments of standing and observing, he could tell that this was the complete form. There was no need for any more effort on this spell -- it was time to move to whatever was next. (1/1)
Rock Hanging. That was... useful, for the lands he lived in. Channeling magnetic energy into his hand, he took grasp of a nearby wall, as he began to climb it -- almost as if he had some form of suction. He knew this wouldn't apply to very many situations, but hey, if he were ever to fall of a cliff, this would be ideal! (1/1)
Finally, the last technique in this little cluster was Earth Trap. Simply enough, he concentrated energy, moving it into the ground as he forced the earth to harden around his feet. However, he himself broke the earth's hold, showing that it was rather frail in comparison. Like all other earth techniques he had learned so far -- this was NOT very reliable, but that would not stop him from preparing himself, incase it ever came to usage. (1/1)

GhostAdam Alvarez, Dog of WarObedience had no bounds on Ghost though how many hours had passed since he was here? He had not eaten, or done anything other than write down anything he could get from simply studying anyone here. The Queen seemingly forgot about him because he had been waiting to report to someone or something, She did send him here after all. Or maybe he wa sin the wrong place? No, Ghost's calculations where never wrong. He wrote down any f the findings of the man in this trainign room. Though Ghost himself had no information on any bloodline, he knew this one wasn't human. By his calculations, this one was also an Earth user like himself, but he could not crack this man's personality just by his movement. He could by his actions, but that would take long algarhythms. Ghost was always willing to write them down though. He kept sitting down quietly and out of sight, as he just kept his watch, and waiting for someone to report to... anyone. H edidn't wanna talk though, so he had one of his few little notebooks he carried with himself for such calculus. Be human. Be human. Be human. Be human. Be human. Be human. Be human. Be human. Kronos nodded at Kassandra. Illusory wall seemed simple enough for tricking anybody dumb enough to rely solely on sight. After going through the effects of the skill in his head, he got to work on learning it. [1/2]
The skill was extremely simple, and the dreadnought got it on his first try. He summoned his energy and projected it outwards. Suddenly there was a large wall in the middle of the training facility. A few seconds after it was conjured, Kronos simply let it dissipate. "On to the next skill then?" He asked Kassandra.
