Antonio Inferni Deil Grist Antonio Inferni -o-Havik-o- I don't understand why... you will be able to use the style once you show you understand how to use it. What is it hindering you to be able to do exactly? Well one, you don't have that many. Two, the ones you have won't work for my ideas. Three, if I did do it y'all would complain because either A) It's not long enough, or B) You don't like the way I rp samples for things. What do you mean we don't like the way you create RP samples? You don't HAVE to learn any styles, it's just that using a named attack gives you bonuses against toughness and help your reaction times, but that requires you using a style. Plus, your kenjutsu styles don't have to be super long. I mean look at the Kunoichi style: it only goes to a chuunin stage. I would say a style that short needs at least 10 techniques, but that's not a whole lot to ask. I'm not making any styles for here. I'd just have to apply for them. If you go through the process of creating a style, then writing a sample for it should be a breeze. You're the only person making a stink over the RP samples for taijutsu and kenjutsu, and none of the other style creators have complained about having to write a sample for their characters after making styles. We've frequently allowed creators to skip the RP samples since we know they have a thorough understanding of the style, but if it took the people creating the style a lot of revisions to clarify or modify techniques, then we might require samples. So there's no guarantee you'll have to do a sample for a style you create. It just depends on how well you make your style and the combat system.

Deil Grist Antonio Inferni -o-Havik-o- Well, the application is only for set style, if you are on of the people who like free style taijutsu then there is no need to apply to anything.
As for the way you Rp sample I can't really say anything about, to me it seems liek you just assuming the worst before trying.
Lastly, if you have a general idea for a fighting style why not Pm me the basics of what you have, I will try to make a style from it and you can help make our list bigger. All the damn Kenjutsu are set styles. I'm ******** anyway. Even if I did tell you the rough idea I'm working on, I'd still have to apply for it, which is BS. The styles aren't hard to understand, Kenjutsu are never hard to understand. So yea, I've nearly finished my profile, and I have to write a ******** Long a** background to make y'all happy, AND I'll have to write a sample just to use a WEAPON STYLE. (Not angry at all just showing my point) You've obviously never tried doing something that requires physical finesse, have you? You can't just show up to a fight with no experience or training and expect to be able to react well to attacks. Set styles exist to provide muscle memory and thus allow you to react without really thinking the actions out. When we say the background needs to be lengthy, we don't mean you need to write a book. It's essentially a short story about your character's life, and it doesn't have to be done immediately. I would say just make sure you get it done within the next month or so. At the very least, having a completed background will probably be a requirement to get into the chuunin exams. You have plenty of time to write it, but it does need to get done within a reasonable amount of time. If weapon styles are SO EASY to understand, then writing a sample shouldn't be any sort of challenge for you. Because the way I write a sample for most things is basically a list of attacks. Y'all want to be story nazi's and won't allow that, you want everything to be a ******** story. I had to think of 5 ******** different senarios for my Hatake Clan application because I know Lily and Jade, they wouldn't have approved it because they were basically a list of attacks. I don't need to make a sample interesting to show I know how to use something, y'all want people to, which is why I never got anywhere in POTS and why I'm going to get less in this guild.

Is it that hard? Just think you're RolePlaying, or think that even in the RP Sample you have a chakra pool so you cannot use jutsu constantly. Nobody can be perfect, and getting a criticize on your RPing is just another plus, better than just letting you continue. For then you'd fix it over.
A RolePlay is a story, it's not a list of attacks, think about that.

A RolePlay is a story, it's not a list of attacks, think about that. But the Sample is there to show you know how to use something. I can do that WITHOUT the story. Y'all just want everything to be perfect, which is, again, why I never get anywhere with y'all. Why I even joined is beyond me. I know how y'all like your s**t, and I don't like the way you want things. I could've done the Hatake sample in three to four sentences, and showed everything y'all have for them, but I knew that wouldn't have been approved because, again, y'all are story Nazi's.

Let me tell you something, Literacy is NOT quantity, it's quality. We don't want you to write loads of paragraphs on how you brushed your teeth, or how you read the newspaper. We want to see Creativity, motivation in the mental side, while proper grammar and punctuation on the other side. If you are indeed a Literate RolePlayer, you are all what we ask for, and therefore a simple RP Sample wouldn't be much taxing.
I'm still not getting your point clearly.

Aqua Fall 12 Will there be a ninja class able to use puppets in the near future?
Although I am sure it will be most useful for weapon master classes, I do not believe there will be a puppet class. So if you would like to start Rping, and getting you puppets approved as custom weapons I would say that is a safe place to start.
@Ant: If you want to make a style feel free, if you want a Ken style feel free to make the app. If you don't that is fine to, but this a literate guild were story's are what we are here for, to everyone else this is not a task, it is just another chance to make a fun little story showing off some clan, or fighting skills.
If that is not what your looking for in a guild this might not be the perfect place for you, we would of course love for you to stay, and Rp with us but please stop the argument/discussion now. You are either going to make the app or not, it up to you. If there is anything else you have questions on feel free to ask, and we will do what we can to help.

If you can't take 30 minutes to write a quality RP sample, don't you think that says something about how your actual RP quality will be? The common trend is the less detail you put into samples, the less you will put into the actual roleplay. If you want a mindless series of attacks, then go play a first person shooter to get it out of your system. We don't require samples to have detail because we necessarily want to read a cool little story. We do it so we know that you not only know what the attacks are, but how to RP using them. Anyone can list attacks. Highlight. Copy. Paste. We need to know that you know how to use the techniques. You saying you think you know what they do and how to use them doesn't show us anything. We need proof. If you joined this guild just to get in RP battles, then you're in the wrong guild. This isn't me telling you to gtfo because I don't like the fact that you don't like samples; it's really that you're in the wrong guild if it's all about fighting for you. This guild does have a pretty good combat system and we don't have a problem with members liking to fight. But this guild is about something more than that. This is a place for roleplayers that are serious about creating a literal character, not just some proxy for you to use to fight as a ninja. We're serious about people taking the time to make characters that they plan to use for the long term, and having the character develop through the RP as a person instead of just a combat tool. If you aren't interested in creating a character that's supposed to be personal to you to some degree for the enjoyment of creating a "live" story, then you might want to think about joining a different guild. That being said, you could have written a good sized RP sample in the time we've been going back and forth over this. If you would just take the time to try and create a roleplay sample, you would find that it's really not that hard once you know the material that needs to go into it. It seriously should only take you about 30 minutes to write 2-3 paragraphs that are each 8-10 sentences long, and that would be considered a moderately long sample. You can get away with about a 20 sentence sample if it's high-ish quality.

Just FYI, I banned Antonio.
...I don't want to have to put up with situations like that. Perhaps if he was being nicer and not swearing, I wouldn't have been so harsh, but he clearly wasn't vibing well with our guild rules and if he's unwilling to go through a few story rewrites for the PRIVILEGE of a bloodline... well, end of story.

I personally have another question:
How can I use the tweak system and the Weapon Master class to get the best out of a puppet-using RPC?
Edit: I am in fact looking at the tweak system and ninja class stuff right now... But I can't think of anything that would let me make the best puppet user that I can.
