Sometimes, to keep his cool, a Cat must remain nothing but a casual expression and a relaxed pose. The way Aislin excitedly reminisced about the 'best' times ever with her 'first' friend; well he would have ground his teeth if he could, biting his tongue to stop anything less-then-cool tumbling out.

Mustering all the nonchalant energies he could, Cat shot the little blue boil a sneaky smirk, well aware at his expression that he had sensed something funny -something buried deep within layers of shadowy ribbons, grinning to itself and licking it's teeth.

He sensed some sort of vague discomfort behind him as well, turning his head slightly to show the inky ghost, Kallos, half of a smile.

Those two might prove to be fun. Later, later, must observe first.

And before he knew it, he felt a tug on his arm that caused it to unfurl, only slightly, giving whomever might be able to see what was underneath a split-second view of a mass of ectoplasmic tentacles, weaving down under his dark 'skin' to form his arm.

As quick as it had happened, he pulled himself together with a pop of his collar, and was gone.

Jove nodded weakly at Kallos' question, one ear tilting back up to give him a lopsided look. Of course he was okay. That piercing noise didn't hurt nearly as much as when he was kicked by a banshee. He still took a second to rub at his head though.

He wasn't entirely sure what to think of Seiji's old friend, with all the gross kissing and hugging, it reminded him too much of Sarias. But with none of the outright malice. Still, there was a thing that bothered him in the same way. Even though he didn't really understand the complexities of boilfriend/ghoulfriend relations, it felt wrong watching Seiji get kisses from a ghoul when there was someone else who was special to him.

The pup glanced over at Aislin's retreating form, and Cat. Something was very strange about that boil. It gave Jove the creeps, and no amount of scenting could puzzle out what it was that disturbed him so much. He didn't let his eyes leave the pair until they had exited the library, and even then one ear swiveled in half-attention to hear Sparrow mention investigating the booths. Wait... Booths.

Jackdamnit! A thousand bloody hells, Jove had forgot! He was going to meet Ren at the Scario Kart club booth! With a little whine of apology to his new and old friends, the pup turned and dashed past Sparrow and out of the library at top speed.

Kallos gave a happy nod to Sparrow. "I'd be happy to show you if I ever make it to the school officially." It seemed the other boil liked Calligraphy too! Well, this was great! Kallos was actually really quite excited about being able to talk with someone about Calligraphy. So excited he wasn't even stuttering as much as usual. That at least meant that Sparrow had put him at ease with the topic. "The artwork that can be produced is really quite beautiful, isn't it? Especially when a letter at the top of a tome is crafted well..." He gave a smile, thinking of all the fancily crafted letters in all of the books of the library...

But then, it seemed Sparrow had to be going. Well, it had been nice meeting him, at least. "Ahh yes, I-I'll be sure to do so if I see you again." He said to the retreating figure that was the reaper.

Well, it was just Kallos, Jove, some of Jove's friends, and a few strangers left around him.

And there was also Cat. The shadowy boil seemed to have been about to leave when suddenly Kallos sensed something deep in whatever survival instincts he had. He had the sense of being prey and cornered, about to be devoured whole, ripped apart-- And then Cat had sent him half of a grin, a look that froze Kallos in the reaction much like that of a deer that just spotted a rifle aimed at it's chest. He was doomed...

But then the shadowy tormentor had left, and Kallos found that he could breath again (He didn't have to, but the inky ghost occasionally did anyway.)

Jove nodded that he was alright, Kallos noticed as he came out of his frozen state. Kallos gave a slightly shaken nod, wondering if he could do anything for the pup. After a few moments though, it seemed that Jove remembered something drastically important, since he looked a bit frantic. Kallos took the whine from the pup as something along the lines of a "sorry, sorry, got to run!" sort of reaction, as the pup sped out of the library. Well...the pup certainly could move fast...

Now alone with some of Jove's friends and strangers, Kallos felt himself trying to shrink back into his usually shy ways. Maybe it was just time for him to see the booths.... Looking back to Seiji and the blonde-ish purple-eyed reaper from before, he gave a quick bow of sorts, then quietly said, "I-it was nice to meet you all. I-I think I'm going to look at the b-booths..." He gave another bow, held tight to his notebook, and quietly left the library.

Giving Jove's shoulder another reassuring squeeze, Seiji watched as someone new was pulled into the impromptu group before Ash beside him bounced up on tip toe to give him a peek on the cheek. Almost startling him before he registered what she was saying. Leaving again, how terribly expectant. He had time to pat her arm as she hugged him before she skipped off to explore, taking Cat with her. He waited for some old flicker of jealousy to flare off at the sight, but to his great relief there was none, and an easy smile replaced the almost frown that had been there.

As Jove moved to leave though the smile vanished, and Seiji was left to rush off on the pup's heels. Waving an apologetic claw over his shoulder. "Jove! hey wait up!"

Was he still playing the game? She turned an idly curious look back to her partner, only a tilt of the head any indication that she was actually curious; you needed eyes to show that emotion, and that was something they were both missing. Before long her attention was turned back towards the stranger, gesturing back towards Lattice.

"Oh my, no. We look very different!" Similar hair styles, colour-switched identical fits, the same masks and palid skin...oh yes, so different. "But it is very nice of you to say." Needle said graciously, as though it were an overwhelming compliment to be up to par with Lattice.

She was momentarily distracted by Kallos, a stranger nearby who seemed to be made of ink! Oh, wonderous ink! Sadly the haunt was gone before she could make acquaintances, leaving the Engraver to inwardly pout and to turn her attention back towards the tattooed boil. Hee, Tattoos. Her world felt right again!

"As long as they do not bite I am sure it will be fine." A slight tilt of her head was the only indiation that she had looked down, observing the smears on his stomach, her lips pressing into a hard line while he knelt in a way that could only be described as careful. "And I believe you are hurting more than you let on, Stranger. Please, allow me to bandage your wounds! I promise that is all I do." Which to her, meant no more free piercings.

This time Lattice giggled in her own quiet way after she was told that she and her 'Sister' looked alike. She had a small smile upon her lips as she turned her head toward Needle and allowed her to explain that they did look quite different - she even nodded her head. Either the pair had delusions or they were going on forgotten memories long past. Either way they seemed attached to the idea that they were very different.

For a brief moment her attention was also directed at Kallos as they passed by making her seem thoughtful. Lattice wondered if he would lend some of himself for testing with their ink, perhaps it would count as the same ink they gathered from corpses? The ghost ghoul was less disappointed when he went out of view as she turned her attention back toward the boil.

"Flesh wounds maybe but it was our fault," she insisted on her sister's behalf. Though she respected the boil's ways and determination to walk it off and respected him even more when he showed concern to property that was not his. Lattice tilted her head, "Are you always this stubborn, Sir?" She meant no ill by the question.

A square-root brow quirked as Petro raised his head up at the sisters. What did they mean they looked different? Maybe they were referring to their clothes not being the same color and maybe their eyes? Well, how was he supposed to know the latter given that they were wearing masks? He studied them again, this time more intently as he slowly rose to his feet, the undamaged books now safely cradled against his side, "Guess y'r tattoos aren't alike then?" he offered in an attempt to correct himself.

When the ghouls began to prod (oh Tro, was that an attempt at a pun?) him about his injuries, the tikbalang pretty much stated "Stubborn? Dunno. Just don't like the idea of being patched up by strangers. 'M Petro," he gestured to himself with a blood-smeared hand.

Ritzpah had stayed behind a bookshelf......or 3...watching the other group interact. There was no bowing or curtsying...nothing like how boils and ghouls interacted with each other back home. She found herself intrigued. But she also found herself very nervous. What if she went up to them and they ignored her, or worse, didn't like her??? After sitting there, diliberating for the longest time, her fears won out and she fled the library - something she'd never thought she'd do - to the more familiar. She heard there was a booth somewhere serving tea.

Overwhelming wasn't quite covering it. Not by a long shot.

One of the most recently arriving visitors, a boil with long dark hair, wandered along the rows of shelves quietly. Most of the others would probably be able to pick him out as one who wasn't only new in the school visitor sense, but new to Halloween all together. This world around him was astonishing, and he felt - looked, even - as intrigued as a child who had been given reign to explore a new place for the very first time. The revenant had gravitated toward the library first, upon being given his pass, soothed by the idea of what he expected to be a relaxing atmosphere.

While it wasn't what he had expected, the boil hadn't been disappointed. Surprised? Absolutely. More than once his gaze had darted above, catching glimpse of a book flapping by. How curious! He didn't think books were supposed to fly. Though, really, he wasn't sure if he might have simply forgotten, or just hadn't witnessed a book fly until now. It was his realization that he didn't know what felt strange about it that made him brush off the confusion, at least for now. It left him wanting to see what other surprises the seemingly endless room held.

It took him about five minutes, and two smashed fingers to realize that the snarling books would very much prefer not to be grabbed at.

At last, a book was chosen that was more inclined to be selected than the others, allowing the newcomer to take it from the shelf without protest. settling down in one of the vacant chairs that were scattered about, the boil gently thumbed through the pages, curiously skimming over the text.

The open house was huge event with many students walking around the booth and other areas of the school, so to escape the craziness of it all Astra had retreated to the library for some peace and quiet. She hadn't bothered to go to the fitness stands, seeing that Jericho, Christof and Riley would be able to take care of that. But once she saw that dragon boil again, boy was she going to brag! Winner of the free for all paintball match, she couldn't believe it! This put a extra spring in her step as she fluttered around the library shelves, pausing to glance at particularly interesting book. And there were plenty of them around.

As she hovered next to one book shelf, trying to read the label but having trouble as the book was trying to eat her (it was chained, so she wasn't worried), she saw someone out of the corner of her eye, and turned to see someone she hadn't seen before. From the looks of things, it was a ghost considering the edges of him were see through. He was sitting down and reading a book, but she could see some of his fingers were a little red; he must have had some trouble grabbing one of the books

Her feelers twitched, and she forgot about the aggressive book, silently flying over to the boil and hovered just above his head.

"What cha reading?" she asked.

Owl got lost. She didn't know where she was.

And then she was out of the library, just like that.

The fluttering of Astra's wings had seemed to go unnoticed, perhaps passed off as another book flying about as the boil looked over the book in his hands.

The reaper's voice, however, got his attention. He looked to either side at first, expecting to see someone alongside him, before looking up to see her there. Eyes a few shades lighter than her own, brighter and nearly luminescent, met with her own.

He looked confused for just a moment, before he gave a short laugh and smiled. "Just the first thing that didn't try to snap shut on one of my hands." He replied, shutting the book as he spoke and lying it on a short pillar-like stack alongside the chair. "I suppose it didn't make much sense, though."

"Really?" Astra asked him, watching him put the book down and then flying towards the stand, standing on the edge so she could pick it up and read it herself. For a few seconds more she looked through the pages, reading the sentences before sighing and putting the book down.

"...I can't understand it either" She said, frowning at the offending book then thought back on what the boil had said. "Ah, so where you looking for anything particular book to read?" she looked at him again, smiling brightly. If he needed finding help finding a book, then she could do it! and if it was one of the meaner ones, then she'd just smack it with her staff.

He had watched her in silence as she took up the book, an amused smirk upon his lips. It widened when she put it back down as well, a chuckle escaping him. "Didn't believe me?" Truth be told, he was thankful that she didn't understand it either, else he look like the fool by himself.

Standing from the chair, he rolled his shoulders lightly to stretch them. "To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have any idea what I'm looking for." He said, as though the response were as casual as telling her he'd lost a pencil.

He looked her over for a short moment, taking notice of the lack of a visitor's badge. The skull pin, he realized just as quickly, meant that she wasn't just a visitor here.

He gestured to it with a point of a finger. "You're a student? Maybe I'd do better to have someone show me around, so I don't manage to get lost? If the size of this library is any hint to the rest of the school grounds... I need some sort of lifeline."

Nice choice of words, from a dead man.

Astra shook her head at his question."No, it's not that, I just wanted to see if I could understand it". As for his next question, she looked up at him curiously. It didn't sound like he was just reading for fun, there was something more to his words, but she didn't quite get it. However they were soon forgotten as he had requested if she could show him around. It sounded like a rather fun idea indeed. Maybe she could end up getting him lost? what a great prank!

She looked him over again and then shook her head. No..maybe not, he didn't seem to be mean, so she didn't want to be too mischievous around him. She eventually nodded her head with a smile. "Okay, I can do that!" she jumped off the table and started tugging on his arm. "come on, I'll show you around the school" She said as she lead him out of the library.
