"Hm, that's too bad. It would have made things a lot easier." Cleo glared at him. "Of course something is wrong, you pathetic, little dimwit. There are a lot of people missing, and I have to find them, or I won't be getting my dinner. I would account that as something wrong. Wouldn't you?" She then began to walk off towards Luin's gate, mumbling to herself.

Lloyd finally caught up to them, taking a huge break to breath. "oh... Oh boy... Y-you guys... Are toast!" he said, unaware of the situation. He looked up to see everyone else there. "Wait... Why are you guys here?" he said out of curiosity.

The bell hanging on door of the shop called Crossroads jingled lightly as Zaul exited with his knapsack slung over his shoulder, and a pouch in his hands. Leaning against one of the wooden beams nearby, he counted what remained of his funds. After a few moments, he smirked but shook his head and began to mumble to himself. "Hrm. 100 Gald short of an inn room. Ahh, well. Heh...'least I had some dinner first." He scratched the tip of his nose with his index finger, just a meaningless, idle habit of his.
After placing his money pouch back inside his pack, he decided he could try to make as best a campsite as he could outside Luin, and started to head toward the gate as well. Before he took a step, he caught a glimpse of a woman who was going in the same direction. As he watched her pass by, she seemed to him like someone who was perpetually pissed. He idly wondered what might've been going through the lady's mind, but in the end knew it was none of his business. After she had gone ahead a good distance, Zaul at last started his walk at a casual pace.

"Now we're talkin'! I love drinkin' stuff!" Jason began to perform that third-whatever-most honored of dwarven traditions, the maneuver known as "raising the cavern roof," waving his hands in the air excitedly, then noticed that he was surrounded by nondwarves, and put them down. "Erm, yes. I be said Jason!"

Hearing Lloyd, Colette turned her attention to him. "They must've saw those two run by while we were following them." She said before looking at the two men then back at Lloyd. "Those two don't seem to be dangerous."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm sorry." Emil only said as he looked away, feeling ashamed of himself. She's alot colder than Richter. He thought to himself. When he looked where Cleo was, he noticed that she was already making her leave. "Wait up!" He called out as he tried to catch up with her. Not paying attention to where he was going, he bumped into the man that was heading in the same direction. He stumbled backward, though he kept his balance. He would look at the man, as if making sure he was okay. "I'm sorry." He said apologetically. He hoped that this man wasn't as cold as Cleo.
"Lloyd...You...wait, what?" Cinkel was a bit confused how they ended up there before Lloyd, considering that Cinkel was following Lloyd. "Yeah, they seem to be okay. Ah, what do we call you anyway." He looked back at the two strangers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cleo groaned softly to herself when she heard Emil call out to her to slow down. "Why don't you just..." She stopped short as she turned around to notice what Emil had done. "Ugh, you should watch what you are doing, idiot." Great. More interactions with people. She walked slowly towards the other two, still mumbling to herself. A few words coherent. "Annoying....better not get killed....hope he doesn't join."

Zaul stumbled forward as well after Emil had collided with him, but also kept his balance. He turned around to see if the boy was alright as well. At his apology, he just smiled and scratched the back of his head. "No problem, kid. Accidents happen."
His ears twitched at Cleo's mumbling. He turned his head to look at her, the brow over his uncovered eye cocked sharply. He had no desire to travel with someone who could be so sour, but also an idle curiosity as to what they were up to. He figured he could just hear this out, then be on his way. "Hope I don't join you for what?"

"I'm sorry." Emil said after he heard Cleo. He would once again feel ashamed until he heard the man speak. Noticing the smile on the man's face did made him feel a bit better. "Do I have to buy you dinner as well?" ^.^; He would scratch the back of his head for a moment.

Zaul chuckled a bit before replying. "Now where did that come from? It's fine, I already had dinner." He shrugged then continued with a smirk, "I was just wonderin' what ya might be up to. ...That she apparently doesn't want me in on."
He knew better than to jump to conclusions, but he was just checking...based on the way the two generally acted, it looked to him like the lady was going to coerce him into...something. It was night, a time for shifty people to grasp their opportunities...he kept in mind that it wasn't like a thief would tell the truth, but they way they'd respond would clue him in.

"What's this you're mutteri- What in the name of my great grandmother's beard is goin' on here?" Jason raised his eyebrow and dropped his arms, spacing out. He was also quite confused by the great Lloyd Irving paradox. "Humblemumblerumbleamostingeniousparadox..."

Colette glanced over to Jason when she heard him speak. "Your great grandmother has a beard?" She asked in a curious tone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well, you see...Cleo here offered to help me find out what could be causing those people to go missing." Emil said then he scratched the back of his head again. "Though in exchange, I have to buy her dinner for 3 months." If it was one thing he hoped for, it would be that Marta wouldn't find out about this deal. He knew what would happen if she were to find out.
Jason looked up from his rambling pose. "Humblemumbl- Hrm? Ah, she may o' may not 'a had facial hair of some kind, an' the chances o' this equals the prob'bility o' Lloyd catching up to the guys followin' him..." Jason threw his hands in the air. "ACH! I GIVE UP!"
Cinkel just simple patted Jason on the head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cleo crossed her arms. "Not like it's any of your business, but it's like the shrimp said. We're basically trying to save the world. The dinner is just my payment for helping." Her nose twitched. "And the reason I don't want you in on it is because I don't like you." She stated this as if it was common knowledge.

Zaul was relieved to find the two weren't up to any thievery. He was about to comment on what Emil had said, before Cleo cut in. And her rudeness just baffled him. They...barely met and she was making it clear how she didn't like him? This close and he could sense...that the quality of her magic blood was different from his. A full-blooded Elf. So that's how it was. He just mentally sighed and shrugged at that. He did not appear to be too affected by Cleo's arrogance, as he had come to expect such animosity just for being a Half-Elf. And then he couldn't help but blink at her bewilderedly and reply, "Wow, lady, what crawled up yer a** and died?" Then he looked back at Emil. "And how did someone more pleasant like you get stuck with 'er? ^_^;; No wait..." A pause of thought. "...Anyone ever tell ya ta try standing up fer yerself, kid?" sweatdrop He patted Emil on the shoulder. "Anyway, that missin' persons deal, eh? What a coincidence. I've...taken to investigatin' some o' that myself. Well, on the sidelines. After...dealing with jobs that can instantly pay me, yeah. I'd gladly offer my help free o' charge, but I'm clearly not wanted here. Heh....well. Supposin' I must bid you adieu from here now." He gives a two-fingered salute, just at Emil. "Good luck with the mission on your end..." then he decided to tack on jokingly, "...and with puttin' up with her. My condolences, kid."He took a few steps forward to leave the two, but turned and looked at Emil again. "Ya don't suppose I could get yer name? Just in case we happen ta cross paths out there again."((Hoping Emil could persuade him to join, because Cleo's real off-putting to him. ))

((Least Emil ain't mean to half-elves. rofl ))
"I couldn't help myself." ^.^; Emil said as he scratched the back of his head again before hearing Zaul ask if anyone had ever told him to stand up for himself. It had him think about Richter. "There was someone actually." He answered. "...Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality. I once met a half-elf who had told me those words, and he also taught me how to fight." He then felt his shoulder being patted as he heard Zaul speak more. Then when Zaul turned to leave, he held his hand out as if wanting him not to leave. "Wait!" He called out. "How about you join us? We could use all the help we can get." He gave a smile. "...And I'm Emil." He couldn't but wonder why Cleo didn't like this man. With him being human, he had no idea that this man is a half-elf. He glanced over to Cleo. "Why don't you like him?" He asked curiously. "He didn't do anything wrong."
