While the attack was by all means, disgraceful, in terms of poise and execution, the aim was true. The weapon tore into the figure, seemingly effortless, shredding the cloak into two. Sans the two halves of the cloak, the figure simply collapsed in itself, no mist, no smoke, nothing, leaving a giant pile of cloak behind. Just an anticlimactic end to an unknown entity. It was too easy, too simple, or maybe, it was right.
The weapon continued to hum, encouragingly, within Zeta Three's grasp, perhaps acknowledging a new owner.
Before anyone could ponder on this new turn of actions, one of two things happened. The first was the most subtle, it seemed as if the table had gotten larger, but upon second glance the room had gotten smaller. The second was stranger, a ticking sound from underneath the cloak of the fallen figure.
((OOC:
- Z3 now has the scythe weapon. Anyone using the weapon can roll a 6-sided dice. If they roll odd, the person they targeted is INSTANTLY KO'ed, please post in the respective death post if you want to do that. Please still respect the turn based rules for the weapon as well. - PVP IS NOW TURNED ON. Except for the scythe weapon, THERE ARE NO OTHER WEAPONS OR FIRST AID KITS. You must all use "melee" attacks (roll 2 6-sided dice, subtract 6 from the result). Everyone has an even 15 HP regardless of how much HP they had prior to this event If someone dies, and has the scythe weapon, the person who gave them the final death blow can "loot" the weapon - If you die please post your death post and go to the death thread. Your character is not immune to death, in fact, dying by any means is most likely disgusting and as bloody as it gets, especially via scythe - You can choose one of three actions in your post, please post it in an ((OOC)) comment at the top of your post. One post counts as one PVP turn for you. (( NAME HERE is attacking NAME HERE )) - this a pvp post, they are ATTACKING said person ((NAME HERE is NEUTRAL)) - they have not attacked anyone yet, neutral standpoint, observing ((NAME HERE IS INQUIRING ABOUT NAME HERE)) - they have not attacked anyone yet but are inquiring about said person ))

(( A-Three is neutral ))
A-Three growled, wrapping his arms all the more tightly about Fiver II the moment he saw the reaper fall. "You can't save everyone." He stated bluntly, watching carefully as Z3 was left with the weapon. "And if you have a care for Fiver or myself, you had best not cause your own demise out of sheer impulsive sentimentality." Did he really have to spell out everything? "And the reaper...he was the one to start this little game of death...and it turned against him. He had naught to blame but himself."
Huh. When had Fiver II wound up so close to his chest. Odd. Glancing to Fiver, he made a gesture for him to stay close...before this descended into chaos. They'd not fight if Three had any choice in the matter...but if worse came down to worst, best to be together. Strength in numbers and all that. Since when had he become so responsible for the lives of these nitwits? Tiresome.

(Z5 is Neutral)
Fiver II stilled the instant Three wrapped his arms around him. He lowered his gaze to the floor. His heart was wrenching. It wasn't right. Everyone had cheated! He wasn't even part of the game! They hadn't followed the rules. They were all traitors. At least he assumed the cloaked figure was a he.
He glanced back at Three from behind his mask was just a scared kid. One that just wanted this all to end. to wake up from the nightmare. To go home, wherever it was, he was sure it wasn't always full of people dying. "... I know, sir." He responded in what could have been a strained voice full of remorse.
"I know..." His eyes fell on the weapon then the pile of clothes. The room felt smaller. They were closer together. Confined with a man who was willing to swing a scythe at an unarmed man. That was what had bothered him most. "... He was unarmed, sir. It was unfair combat." He remained quiet for just a moment longer before tugging himself away. "I'll protect you, sir. Stay behind me." He said softly. It was a suggestion, not an order but Fiver II was clearly ready to stand up and fight now if need be.

((Braindead Neutral~))
She was getting the reaction she had wanted. Zeta Eight hadn't planned to revolt him specifically, nor to make him afraid or anything like that. She just felt the need to dissuade him, make him stop trying to pull her back into a sanity she knew she should embrace, but had been completely lost to a jumble of chaotic thoughts. She was drowning in them, and she didn't know which was was up, and like any drowning person if you got too close, they'd try to drown you too.
Except... he wasn't dissuaded. He seemed disgusted, which should have dissuaded him, because she knew they way he thought and he wouldn't want an ally who was coming apart at the seams. And yet there he was, standing there as composed as ever, while the others screamed of anarchy.
'No you wouldn't.'
There was a spark of anger, an impulse to prove him wrong. Who did he think he was, telling her she couldn't kill him? But it seemed Alpha Seven had her back. Watching him jump down from the table, she tilted her head slightly as he defended her, a small flutter of something that wasn't panic or nausea. Regret? That even she didn't believe his words?
'She's not a thing like you.'
But then, it was over. The cloaked figure stepped forward as smoothly as he had before, counting their 'votes' and, inexplicably, kneeling before them. She felt a surprising amount of apathy towards the situation, her intrigue only slightly piqued. Zeta Eight was tired... her body felt weak all of a sudden, something that would have greatly disturbed her before, but she felt a numbness in her senses, like a blank screen after a computer reboot. While everyone else scrambled for the weapon, her fingers sliding slowly to the table again, searching for purchase.
And Zeta Three took the scythe.

A12 is neutral~
A-12's heart had stopped in it's tracks. It had been nothing more than a ten minute crush at most.
But her heart felt like stone, it's weight seeming to stop A12 from breathing. Nononono. Not the reaper. Not the reaper that had been so .. (not entirely) helpful to the zeta and alpha party at the beach. He brought them back. He chased the death pony away. Didn't anyone remember? Had everyone forgotten that convenient fact?! He said he'd bring them back--- and this was how they repaid him?
But she realized. it wasn't a matter of repaying. It was fair. By the rules. By the rules he set down. The reaper accepted his death. He took it like the honorable soul he was (really, A12, really?) and .. that was fair, right? Even the reaper said so himself. Survival was the ultimate key. THIS WAS ALL SO CONFLICTING. @____@~ Bent over the cape, A12's emotions ran a little high. Only the sound of a soothing ticking rhythm seemed to penetrate her state of mind with a not-so-soothing-rhythm once she realized ...
it was ticking? Slowly but surely, A12's hand reached for the cloak. But she felt a chair hit her leg, swiftly turning her head back. Who bumped into her? .. Nobody had. In fact .. it seemed .. something had bumped into her? The wall was pushing the chair closer. WAIT WHAT-- the wall was pushing the chair closer?! FFFFTTTTTTT.
Scrambling closer to the cloak, A12 couldnt seem to form the words coherently in her mind. "T-The .. WALL. THE WALL. GUYS. THE WALL."
A12 wasnt making much sense at this point.

((E-10 is neutral for now.))
They..they killed it! They killed that manipulative ********! But it seemed to easy. Epsilon 10 was both excited and disappointed; she had wanted to see that person's face, to see the face of the person trying to pit them against each other. She wanted to see it. Where was the blood? It was like...it had been a puppet the whole time. Had they been expecting this? They must have been. They knew it would happen. They'd been played from the very beginning. She growled and glared at Z5, the one who had been trying to protect the reaper and looked heartbroken over it. "He was playing us from the very beginning! And you tried to protect him?! What the hell is wrong with you?!" If she could reach it she'd be pulling at her own hair. IDIOTS! She was surrounded by them!
She looked enviously upon Z3 and his pretty new scythe, pretending not to notice the heavy tension in the air now. Z3 had a weapon. And the rest did not.
s**t was about to go down.
Epsilon 10 pushed past the people who were gathered around the reaper, looking all around for some sign of life. No. It was gone. And all that was left was its robe...huh...the half with the hood looked long enough to cover her armor. Her prissy pink highlighter pink armor. Epsilon 10 picked up the top half of the cloak and put it on herself, pulling the hood up and everything with a grin. Heh. Sweet. She lifted the bottom half out of curiosity, seeing if there was anything under there either. What was that mysterious ticking noise? Was it a pipe bomb?

There was a simple watch underneath the cloak, the source of the ticking sound, the time currently read: 3:05pm.

((Still neutral))
E-10 blinked and stared down at the watch, picking it up and reading the time. "The time is three-oh-five pm." She said in as official a tone as she could, shrugging and tossing the watch aside. It was just a watch. Forget that they needed to probably keep track of the time. She turned to A12 as she started crying about the walls.
"What about the walls?" She asked, looking at them to see what the hell that girl was going on about. Why did the room look smaller?

((JUST BARELY NEUTRAL, but putting on the big boy pants, OH BABY.))
The lack of resistance caught Z3 by surprise, his hands clenching the weapon and muscles tight in some anticipation of flesh, bone, anything to slow the blade in passing... but no, it just sliced cleanly through, as a knife would cut the very air, and he watched in hazy fascination as the cloak fell limply aside. There was no dramatic blood splatter in its wake, not even a trace of something physical having been there in the first place-- and perhaps that was for the better. The process just seemed so clean and painless compared to his expectations; he didn't even feel like it was murder.
And suddenly, like a ton of bricks, new realization dawned. He was still holding the scythe in his hand. Above the shifting room, the faint ticking, it was the weight of the metal that kept him utterly transfixed. Had it felt so natural to hold a moment before, despite its heaviness? So powerful?...
"He was playing us from the very beginning! And you tried to protect him?! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
It was E10's snapping that pulled him back to reality, his mind recalling the blathered words of a body wearing his own colors just moments ago-- yes, the one who'd dared attempt to intervene. What had his calling been, Fiver? Z3 didn't particularly care; he just grasped his new weapon with unnerving authority and turned a sharp, predatory eye on the other male.
"... Unfair combat?" he echoed, frightfully calm, a pleasant, twisted mockery. "You truly believe that these... creatures who toy with us, manipulate us, should be exempt from the rules of their own game?" His words trailed off there for a moment, leaving only a cold chill in the air.
"Rules are rules. If you aren't prepared to follow them, your life will be forfeit," he finished, a voice with more power and ringing dominance than he'd ever used before in their presence. Glancing over at the watch that had just been revealed, he seemed to quiet, however, finally turning his attention away from the bodies, to the walls. "It seems we're still expected to perform before our release, aren't we..."

"It.. It moved?" A12 said rather .. uncertainly. Did the walls move? But it was so much closer, right? Walls didn't move though. A hand lifted outwards to experimentally touch the wall.
Experiment time.
A12 stood up rather determinedly, eying the lower half of the cloak that had been picked up to reveal the watch. "You're not using it, right?" Silently, A12 ripped a strip of cloth from it. She couldn't take the whole thing obviously. But soon, a black strip adorned her head like a headband and another strip was wrapped around her wrist like a bracelet.
A reminder of her lost love. A reminder to survive. With this, she marched forward to ..
...
....
......to put a chair against the wall.
"If the chair moves, the wall's moving. If the chair doesnt .. then I'm imagining things."

[A7 is inquiring about Z3. Sort of. Not really, he's just being an a**.]
The death of their host was rather anti-climatic. A7 watched as Z3 (him, why did it have to be him?) picked up that scythe, and threatened the a** who'd tried to defend the hooded figure with it.
Then A7 watched as he did.. nothing.
This was how it was going to be, wasn't it? Z3, with his tough talk and his cold attitude, wasn't going to actually lift a finger against anyone unless he had to.
How did he not realize, that was exactly what he had to do?
The hooded figure was gone. Not dead - gone. They were left with a ticking clock, waiting for them to find the real traitor. That meant someone here was still the traitor, and that clock wouldn't stop until they were dead.
Z3 was not the kind of man who could do what had to be done. No one here was.
A7 tilted his head, giving one last side glance to A10, who was still all chummy with the Doctor. His head snapped back, facing the woman in front of him.
Z8.
He took a deep breath, and dropped his head down. His mask knocked gently against Z8's, and his arm lifted to rest on her shoulder for a split moment. Then he walked around the woman, leaving her there as he stood to face Z3.
The scythe didn't scare him. Nothing really did, at this point. He simply held his hand out in front of Z3, and in an even voice he simply asked.
"Give me the scythe, Z3."
A7 was done playing games.

(( A-Three...neutral, and not happy about it. ))
A-Three stepped forward, rather firmly putting Fiver II behind him. Enough of this. For all intents and purposes, Fiver II was emotionally a child....and though he constantly frustrated Three, he wasn't just going to see the younger cut down. "Please do ignore him. He tends towards emotional outbursts. Well-intentioned, but most assuredly unnecessary." Idiot. He knew the sort that Z3 was, after all...not so far a cry from A-Three himself. And that meant that he was dangerous...the worst sort of peril in these kinds of situations. And he was armed...oh goody.
And if Fiver II didn't keep his mouth shut, A-Three was going to knock him over himself...even if only to save his life. "Follow the rules." He murmured, half to himself, and partially to his companions. Spreading his arms, he rather subtly and slowly began to back up, rather intimating that Fiver and Fiver II do likewise. "I sense that this will get rather...unpleasant." In very short order, that just a furtive whisper to the two of them. They were HIS things...and no one was going to take them from him.

((Z3 is WTFing at A7, however that qualfies!))
Z3's posture turned visibly rigid when he saw the lumbering bulk of a body approaching, and no amount of confidence or testosterone could ever render him more capable of staring the giant down. None the less, he refused to step down, pinning the other male with an unwavering gaze and then--
"Give me the scythe, Z3."
... There was no reaction of shock or insult. There was no verbal snap of rejection. There was only silence, and a stare that remained firmed as Z3 seemed to weigh his options internally, grip flexing and unflexing gently around the wood of his weapon's precious handle. Yes, his weapon. Inexplicably, he had already grown attached to the thrumming power it exuded in just minutes, moments of its care.
"This is mine," he declared stoically, but a split second later, added on. "But, if you swear to return it upon... finishing the business you have in this room, I will allow you to borrow it-- ... as a fellow Phoenix, of course." He made a special point of emphasizing the last part there; this was, technically, an incredible gamble, and if his calculations or instincts proved false, God help him...
"... So say it." What? He held the staff of it out before him, tip rested on the ground, still pinning A7 with that intense look before he dared let go. He hated to say that word was involved here, but it verged on unavoidable. "I want your honest vow, Alpha Seven, so I can... trust... in your intentions."

Z3, with all of his cold and calculating moments, all of his talks with Z8, all of those moments that made A7 want to wring his little neck, had said the one thing that A7 could never back down from. He demanded the man's vow as a fellow Phoenix. As a team mate. As a member of their alliance.
A7 put his hand on Z3's shoulder, and nodded. His voice held a warmth that Z3 may have never come to expect from him.
"As a Phoenix. As a brother. I promise you, if I'm still alive, the last thing I will do is hand you back this scythe. Consider me your right arm in this battle. I'm not going anywhere."

Z3 would never admit how much the sincerity of A7's declaration caught him off guard, but oh, how guiltily his features fell slack in that brief, fleeting moment of exchange. Having a hand on his shoulder left him tense out of reflex, but no attempt was made to shove it away, either; after all, this was an ally, and now... well, this was an ally he'd have to literally 'trust' not slitting his throat in a moment's time. Looking one last time to his weapon, to his white-knuckled glove around that staff, he drew in a slow, audible breath and exhaled it softly.
"... Alright," he said at last, his voice far tamer, quieted. Perhaps there was even a shred of something real in there if one listened carefully-- or it could've been a total ruse. "Take it, then."
Without further ado, he passed the heavy, ungainly, brilliant mass of power over to his towering... ally... and stepped back, with a light duck of the head that might imply a small bow. "And use it well."
