Karl caught himself and jerked as though stung and straighted a hard look on his face as he turned away walking to the stables. He had horses to take care of, not princesses. He would go up and see her some other time, maybe later when it grew dark.

Celestia sighed and went to her bed and laid down, she started crying. She covered her crying with her pillow as she cried herself to sleep, thinking Karl left her.

Karl brushed and groomed the horses all day, then found something else to do. Anything else to avoid Celestia. He sighed knowing she would hate him, and he couldn't blame her, he'd said he loved her, and now here he was, going back on his vow. He shook his head. No, the problem was, if he showed that he was in love with her, he would lose the loyalty of his people, his kingdom, his friends...he would lose everything if he showed his love for her.

Celestia curled up into a little ball, she was probably just a prisoner to him, he said he loved her then left. She sighed and thought about it Karl didn't love her at all, maybe it was just a lie to make her vulnerable

Karl stood outside Celestia's door and starred at it, as if in a trance. He wanted to see her so badly...But something was stopping him...And he could not, for his life, figure out what it was. He sighed leaning his head against the door.

Celestia heard a little noise on the other side of the door and woke up "Karl?"

karl lifted his head and walked in sitting down on the bed. he smiled at her brushing her hair back.

Celestia smiled "Karl, you're here with me" she sat up and hugged him "I love you"

Karl hugged her back then pushed her gently away. "Cele...We can't do this." Karl looked hurt and pained for doing this to both of them. "We can't be together. It'll never happen." he stood and looked at her. "I dont want you here for this battle. Baron will take you to a near by town, or something and make sure your safe."

Celestia started crying "Why?!" She broke down as tears flooded out of her eyes "You hate me.....don't you.....you....nev-never want...ed me" she stammered "You-you-.......I love you! At least I did....." she turned away "I guess I can't trust my feelings anymore.....you stood up for me then you then you push me away!"

"Cele!" Karl grabbed her shoulders and pulled her against him. "Its not that I dont want you, I want you so much.." he closed his eyes. " I just...dont think I'm going to survive this..And I want you to be safe." He picked up her hand and kissed it looking at her. "If I dont survive this, I want you to marry someone else. Learn to love again if I dont live through this."

Celestia was surprised as she laid her head on Karl's shoulders "Don't think you won't survive....you have too, you will..." she smiled as she felt him kiss her hand "I love you....but I can't marry I don't love...I only love you....without you I'm not myself..."

Karl sighed hugging her gently. "You have to learn that not everyone will go easy on you, Celestia. You cant cry and whine to get what you want." He stepped back throwing a coat at her. "Get ready to go."

Celestia sighed lightly "Okay..." she stood up and put the jacket on, it relieved her to know how Karl felt about her

Karl waited downstairs with Baron to take Celestia away to a different town. "Make sure they know who she is," Karl told him. "I dont want her in a place where she'll be disrespected."
