Kitsune_Fox "Tora-onee-sama, I'm having trouble doing the shadowing. Could you give me some pointers, please?" "Sure sweetheart!" Tora smiled. "Okay," she announced loudly for the whole class to hear, "on shading, everything must have a light and dark side. Figure out where your source of light is comming from and make the one thing closest to it light, by adding white, and gradualy get darker as you go away, by adding black. Shading gives a piece of artwork depth and makes it three-dimentional," she adds. "Does that help, Tohru-chan?" Tora asked quieter.

Reijin nodded thoughtfully at the instructions, then tilted her head, surveyng her painting. It was almost complete. Switching to a finer brush, she refreshed her silver-white paint, carefully adding a delicate line of the white to the edge of her cranes' feathers, emphasizing the highlight. She smiled. Ths addition really made her cranes shimmer, as if they truly were splashing through the lake.

Tohru smiled and nodded. "Yes Onee-sama, thank you very much!" She took out her paints and got to work to shading her painting, making it look more and more 3-dimensional.

Ariku heard what Tora said about 3-D. So she decided to try it on the buildings. She satisfied with it even though it the best thing. She was proud of her work. So she began to work on the stream.

Luna seemed lost in though as she painted, the large house was bright and surrounded with ponds and sakura trees, it had once been her home though she only remembered it from the pictures she had that he mother had drawn. She smiled it was nice to look at the pond where she used to catch frogs and watch the fish for hours always wondering how they breathed under the water, though she was only very little and didn't understand the gills. Now she still watched fish even at her age she loved them. perhaps it was because her mother had aswell she would never know. She smiled realizing what she wanted more than anything in the world, when she is older and perhaps with a barron or when she retired from being a geisha and married she knew she'd want her own pond with koi. Not realizing it she began to hum while she painted her strokes smooth and fluent.

Tora smiled and walked around the room. She smiled as her students worked.

Setting down her paintbrush, Reijin smiled softly at her work. Clearing her throat gently, she looked around for Tora. "Please excuse me, Tora-sensei, but I believe that my painting may be complete. Is there anything else you would lke me to add to it?"

Tora smiled at Reijin and walked over to her. She studied her painting for a while, looking at every detail of the crane's feathers. "I do believe it's finished little one," she smiled. "Very nice work! It looks as if it would fly off into the sky!" she said amazed.

Reijin blushed slightly at the compliment. "Arigato gozaimasu, Tora-sensei. If you like, I can start another painting." She folded her hands in her lap as she waited for the response.

Ariku looked over to Reijin's painting. "It is very pretty." she said and smiled.
She continued to paint the small town. She finally finished with the last brick on one of the buildings. "Onee-san, I am finished as well." she said cleaning off her brush.

Tohru looked back and beamed with pride. She never knew she had any artistic talent, but she was very proud of her landscape. "Tora-onee-sama, I believe I am done," she said happily.

Tora clapped her hands and smiled. "Very nice work everyone," she said, walking around and inspecting everyone's work. "I'm so proud of you all!" she exclaimed. "Okay, we will take a two week break to allow our paintings to dry thuroly (sp?). Please come back with a picture of a flower you'd like to paint," she said. She bowed to her students and dissmissed the class.

"Thank you, Onee-sama," Tohru said and bowed. She left the class proud and excited of her work.

Ariku smiled and nodded. "Okay onee-san. I will be looking forward to next session." she said and got her stuff.
She left the classroom eager to get started looking for a picture.

"Arigato gozaimasu, Tora-sensei," Reijin said with a small bow. Wiping her hands clean witha small rag, she exited the classroom with the other students.
