Cyrilla looked at the whip, then sat Star, then back to the whip. She then looked over at Merope who seemed to be struggling with his own thoughts. The dracolich's eyes dropped back down to the fafnir who was now staring up at her. Dead or not, she didn't have the heart to whip the poor little thing. She knew he was spoiled, but he wasn't... bad... persay. Just a bit stubborn and pig headed. He was young though, and he'd hopefully grow out of it as he aged.
Besides, the little bugger was listless enough, at the best of times, without taking away more of his energy. She was almost certain that he would just never move again if you took any more.
Almost as if to showcase the ghoul's internal thoughts, the fafnir gave out a large yawn, and dropped it's head to the ground, peering up at her as if to say "Can we go now?". To this, she shook her head.
Noticing that Aymet hadn't received a whip, the ghoul trotted around the lost fathom's boil, and poked her head into the taller dracolich's 'face'. "Here", she offered him. "You likely need this more than I do, Aym. I really don't wanna use it." she peered over the shoebox towards the Professor. She was hoping that this wasn't going to be a big deal. She could deal with Star in another way, and she just wasn't comfortable using the whip at all.
So someone mays well have got a kick at it.

"I'm not forcing you too... Its not like I will fail you for it either," Malcolm simply replied as he nodded at Alessa, noticing her Lepus - and its attitude, "Although I can't help but notice... Your Minipet doesn't care much for anyone? Does it listen to you at all?" It was just a guess though; some Minipets are actually quite well-behaved, but only for their owners.
"It what?" Malcolm looked at Sin's Minipet before stroking his chin, "Ah, that's a little worrying... I do have something in mind, but its a little harsh... Every time it attacks an unsuspecting ghoul for her panties, stop it - using the whip to make it drowsy, preferably, but any way would do, really - and place it in a corner of your room, away from any underthings or other Unmentionable. Leash it alone for about a minute. It should not be moving much due to the whip, so use the remaining time after that 1 minute to talk to it - it can't remember the whip, but it WILL remember going after a ghoul's underthings..."
He paused briefly, hoping that the Demoness was following him, "Tell it not to do it again and why. Make it short and sweet - Minipets can only understand simple words. After that, pat it and unleash it. Whenever it stop going after someone's underthings when you ask it to, give it a good cuddle. Make a chart and draw a panty - to help it relate - for every time it listen to you - after five times, reward it with something it likes - an unmentionable, in this case. Even allow it to choose! However, till its first reward, I would like you to lock all your underthings away. After it gets the reward system, slowly reduce the number of rewards to get it used to not getting anything for good behavior except love from you."
At Aedan's voice, he turned towards the boil and nodded, "That seems to be the case for many of the students here... I have a long list of things to do and not to do to help improve that, but that'll have to wait for my next class... I do not wish to hold the class up any longer than I have to! However, you need not use the whip if you do not wish to."
Merope. Boil-who-moved-shoerack-with-Aymet. Still, a student's a student and this one was asking for time after class, "Of course! I actually encourage it... My office is not ready yet, but once it is, anyone is free to drop by at any time." He then paused, adding as an afterthought, "There will be no fire in my office."
He finally got why some students were behind the shoe rack.

Gabrian's gaze shifted to look at Alessa, whom had been sitting to his left, looking rather stiff and unsure of the way the class was working out. For a moment, his brows knitted and his voice lowered, "Neither is picking fights, Alessa. Specially when all I did was follow the Professor's instructions and did as I was told," the cold tone lasted only a moment before he seemed to notice, closed his eyes in an attempt to drain himself of frustration and tried again. This time, his voice sounded normal; almost as if the coldness had never been there in the first place, "Look. As far as I can tell, Professor Malcom's invisible dog is not only well trained, but it obviously loves him dearly. Something tells me the man knows what he's talking about," he drawled the words out as he continued to scratch behind his Floresce's ear-fins, making the creature 'chuuuuuurrrrr' softly and happily in his arms, betraying the fact it hadn't been knocked out, but was instead, merely slightly dazed.
"We joined his class, and it is only polite to follow his instructions. I'm willing to give his method a try, if it will help my pet, at least if I'm allowed to make a game out of by giving it my own flair. That aside, he's not knocked out. He merely graced it," after a moment, he let out a sigh, "Relax, Alessa. If you don't think you want to do it, that's fine, but don't chew me out for doing what the professor told us to do."
That said, he turned to address Professor Malcom, "Rabbits," he drawled out, his eyes hooding somewhat as he said that, "Lepus, to be more exact. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it's the ears..." letting out a sigh, he stroked Davy's long ear fins before continuing, "He seems to be into a particularly independent, self-assertive... hostile little lepus," and here his gaze lowered to Alessa's first mate lepus before lifting up again, "I get the impression he might be barking up the wrong tree, if her reactions are any indication, if you get my drift. I've tried putting him in my tank with my other Floresce, but he seems utterly uninterested."

Ren let his shoulders rise and fall in a brief shrug, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I can't really believe it either, considering how much she was glaring at me," he said to Alessa. "I was sure she'd bite me, but apparently I was wrong. I don't think I'll take my chances again, though," he added, shaking his head and laughing a bit. "Don't want to risk losing a finger~"
Professor Malcom was speaking to him. "Oy," said Ren, eying the whip that was now at his feet once again. "I didn't want it back. What am I supposed to do with it now?"
Bending down, he picked it back up, twisting the leather around his fingers. Beside him Rhys was looking at it with a very wary expression, almost apprehensive, and Ren reached out, tugging on one of his ears. "Don't worry, mischief maker," he said with a snort. "I'm not gonna use it on you, silly rabbit."
Well...now what he was supposed to do? Absently tying knots in the whip, he glanced over at Gabrian, who was speaking to Alessa again. He could quite make out what either of them were saying, but from the looks on their faces, it probably wasn't a pleasant conversation.
Reaching into his backpack, Ren dug around in it until he found a scrap of paper, which he bent over and scribbled on for a few moments, casting glances to his right until he was done:

Capping the pen, Ren slid the paper across the table towards Alessa's first mate lepus, then sat back, not really paying attention as he tied more little knots in the whip, eyes watching Sheelah carefully, amusement tinging his expression.

"Lepus?" He seemed mildly surprised at Gabrian's reply, but it was quickly replaced by an bemused chuckle when he realized which Lepus the boil was talking about, "Seems like we have a bit of a problem there then, if its a one-sided love... And to such an independent ghoul Minipet too! I'm guessing any play dates between them didn't go too well?"
He then paused, slowly smiling as an idea came to him, "If its just a Lepus, however, we could arrange for a play date between my Nergal Lepus Julie and Davy? She's a little... Feisty compared to the rest of my party, but well-trained and rather lovely. If Davy misbehaves around her though, he might just... Get it from her. She's rather strict about how Minipets should conduct around their owners... So he might get punched if he doesn't act like... A man."

Gabrian watched Ren out the corner of an eye, but couldn't quite make out what he was handing Sheela. For a moment, he considered leaning over to find out, but soon enough, Professor Malcom's voice pierced through his thoughts, and the demon blinked, "Er... yes, Lepus," he found himself saying, almost as if he felt the need to reassure the Professor that yes indeed, his Floresce was odd, "I am er... not quite sure why. Or what he sees in her," he turned to Alessa as he said this, with an honestly apologetic expression on his face, "No offense - I don't mean it that way," and then turned back to Malcom, "Jack knows that the lepus hasn't so much as glanced his way. And he's much more prone to making a fool out of himself, and me, when she's present," a pause followed and he turned to look down at the calm Floresce in his arms, whom despite being wide awake by now, seemed content with catering his owner's attention in the form of scratches, "If by well you mean he tried his best and her reactions seemed to range from a physical refusal to ignoring him then yes, they went well."
Alas, the Professor's idea intrigued him deeply, and he lifted his arms up in the air, holding the Floresce under his fins to hoist him up, "What do you think, Davy. Would you like to meet Julie?" he turned towards Malcom and Davy mimic his owner rather easily, looking towards the professor too, "I think that might be interesting, at least. He's not bad. Just... mischievous. And I'm sure she'll do him much good, actually. I'd rather like to try that out."

Malodore sourly wondered what one did if one's minipet was just an irrepressible jerk, but... its emotions softened slightly (just slightly) as it looked down at the slumbering Parassiti. She hadn't always been like this, at all. It remembered being back at the Casa, curled up in its bed with the little scrags tucked into the boneless curve of its belly... but ever since coming here she'd been...
...
Was she homesick? Or was there something else? Malodore's eyes narrowed. Well, it certainly wasn't going back for Parassiti's sake! It raised its hand for the Professor's attention. "Sir - I believe part of Parassiti's ill behavior may be due to homesickness... but for personal and practical reasons, I cannot return. Ever." The clipped way it said ever made it quite clear that the plague doctor was deadly serious. "Now that I think about it, all her snotty behavior began when we got here..."

Natalia was...very pleased with the response she got! It made so much sense! And her pathling, who had taken to the gentle strokes with an unbelievable amount of trust and welcoming grumbles, looked relatively pleased with the results as well. At the sight of the whip, Right On had cringed and whined....and she felt it, which made it even harder to accept. Thankful that the object wouldn't be in her possession for much longer, the ghoul placed her chin gently on the pathlings skull and spoke cheerily toward the teacher.
"Thank you Professor!" She nodded her head several times in agreement with his final statement. "Of course, of course I'll let you know how things are going as soon as I set up his sleeping schedule. Maybe I need to not let him sleep as often as he does? Or! OH! Maybe I need to take him out more often! He's probably not getting enough exercise and sunlight! Yeah, that might be it too!" Rambling and stumbling off to her seat again, Natalia continued to pet Right On where Malcom had stopped, the pathling moving about urgently for an all over body rub.

LW had both her batling and the whip sitting in her lap now. Callix kept trying to kick it off, but she kept grabbing and putting it back until he huffed and resorted to glaring at it. He was still terrified of the thing and didn't want it near him yet couldn't understand why his lady master kept hold of it! After yet another attempt and failure at knocking it away, Callix just slumped and let his chin rest on LW's hand.
While her batling had been trying to knock the whip away, LW was watching Gabrian and Alessa, not hearing what they were saying but getting enough from their expressions. She looked back and forth between them before leaning a little trying to catch Ren's eye. What...was he doing? Shaking her head at all three of them, LW decided to remain quiet and pet the top of Callix's head. He was being good right now.

Minipet-proofing? Huh... "I'll see what I can do. I try my best to keep my sewing supplies out of their reach, the rest is just pillows everywhere...though my table and my bedframe is awfully low." The end was mostly herself thinking out loud, looking down at her foxes. Kuro was staring up at her with his tongue hanging out and panting heavily, though he looked happy Mommy was holding him. She giggled and bent her head enough to touch noses, lifting her head after that and doing her best to keep from letting the whip fall from her shoulders. Sayuri was happily gnawing on the end of it, though she did look much drowsier...happily drowsy? Junko could work with that. This was the calmest she'd seen the pygmy fox since getting her! A playpen sounded nice though, especially when Junko was trying to do sewing work. She would be devastated if either of her foxes hurt themselves on a fallen pin or needle. It would no doubt be a cry heard 'round the dormitories if such a horrible thing ever occurred. It looked like she'd have to invest in some leashes though. Hmmm!
"Thank you, Professor! I'll try all of that! O-oh?" She could keep it? Really? Wow! She wasn't happy with it before, but now that she knew this method she was a bit more comfortable with it. Kuro saw his mommy's happiness and thumped his tail happily against her, squirming in her arms until he could climb up onto her shoulder and settle comfortably on it. Junko let him; it was often her putting them on her shoulders anyway. "So I don't have to worry about not putting anything in Vlad's box?" But he'd just told her how Vlad didn't like that! Now she was a little confused. Junko took advantage of her one free arm now to reach around and gently take the whip from her shoulder, cradling her sleepy purple pygmy fox with a soft chuckle. How cute!

[I was wondering when someone would point that out @ Vlad's 'full' collection habit. |D Hehe, don't hate on Malcolm - the fire, etc are intentional mistakes on my part~ Maru knows why. Hehehee. 8DDD]
"Where your Minipets can reach and possibly hurt themselves, make sure to cover it with a soft material," He replied Junko, "That way, even if they somehow got out of the play pen and hit themselves, they will not get hurt from hitting a hard or sharp surface! As for sewing supplies, if its possible, keep it locked away in a place out of reach and out of sight!"
Vlad raised its head upon hearing its name, cocking its head to a side at Junko before letting out a bark in response; however, it didn't move from its spot... It seemed to be eagerly waiting for Malcolm's command to collect the whips - maybe it'll get more patting rewards!
"The number of students keeping the whips is not that significant compared to those who wish to return it now," Malcolm nodded; he had expected people to reject the whip since he would have rejected it as a student. He offered the ghoul a reassuring smile, "I will take care of that later... If he notices it." Hopefully he doesn't, but Vlad can still be unpredictable when upset.
"You are most welcome, Natalia!" Malcolm chuckled, giving the Pathling one last pat on its head to reassure it that it was going to be fine, "It would be good to minimize naps, yes - that way, it should be less fussy about sleeping earlier at night! And yes, you got the right idea! Right On is lucky to have an owner like you." He meant what he said too, judging from the smile on his face.
"Homesick?" His attention was quickly diverted to Malodore, smile fading and slowly replaced by a light frown. After a short pause, the Professor nodded, "It could be a cause, definitely... If it is impossible for you to return, bring your home to it - what made home, home? Other than the smells and sights, could it be missing its friends or family back home? Being removed from a familiar place can be fairly traumatizing for a Minipet! Perhaps meeting other Scargs might help calm it a little? I could arrange for one of mine to meet Parassiti, but she's a regular Scrags and a fearful thing... Its why I try not to bring her to class. Or you could always arrange a play date with other Scrags owners?"
Of course, provided Parassiti won't try to attack the other Scargs... It'll have to be kept on a leash during the meeting and only released if it does not show any negative behavior.
He nodded at Gabrian, rather pleased with the boil's reply, "I suppose Julie does need to meet Minipets that do not belong to me as well! I will arrange for a date once my office had been set up! I am sure it will benefit both of them to know one more Minipet!"

WRAP UP?! They say that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. However, it seems that fate works in weird ways. As Malcolm hurried his students to return to their seats, Vlad started to make his round, happily collecting the whips - however, as he approached the first student, the invisible dog tripped over the edge of the carpet, tumbling forward towards the bonfire in the middle of the stool-arrangement - harness, box and dog. While Vlad slowed to a stop before he could reach the fire, the box did not; as the fire came into contact with the cardboard, the box quickly became engulfed in flames. Surprised, the invisible dog started to bark, the heat from the mini-fire that was so close to his body was causing him discomfort.
"Vlad, stay! Stay!"
By the time the command had sounded, it was too late; frightened and confused, Vlad had tried to run from the fire that was 'following' him. Desperate, he dragged the burning box to the carpet before Malcolm's voice caused him to freeze, whining where he stood, determined to obey his master to the very end. The carpet soon started to burn as well, spreading like, well, wild fire.
Whoever was paying attention to the burning box and frightened dog would turn back to see the professor gone, the Druid running towards his beloved Minipet. Removing Vlad from the box was difficult and the fire burnt his arm in the process. However, he didn't let it show as he turned towards his class, "OUT OF THE CLASS. GO. HOLD ONTO YOUR MINIPETS."
To his Undead students, his frown deepened as he let Vlad go after muttering something to the Minipet. The glowing blue form of an over sized saber-tooth tiger then materialized beside him before it sped towards where the Undead students were, behind the shoe rack. It grabbed Aymet first, followed by Merope and Cyrilla, tossing each student onto its back regardless of anything they might have to say. It then grabbed Christof by his scarf, carrying him in its mouth before dashing towards the exit, lifting the Patchwork off the ground as it ran. It then returned to grab Malodore, grinning at its Scrags. Malcolm, on the other hand, piggybacked Amrita and Tess before making his way out, surprised at how light they weighed. He then stopped by Rain to carry her out bridal style, allowing the ghoul's Witch to sit on his head.
Vlad, on the other hand, was barking and barking at the rest of the students, urging them to run for the exit like a sheepdog would herd sheep. To any misbehaving Minipets, he would growl and bark at, threatening to tear them apart and allowing them to choose between that or death by fire... Or simply being good and allowing their masters to carry them out.
Simple choice, right?
Any Minipets that bolted out of fear or shock would be dragged out by Vlad; he was serious about saving them, even if it meant he would have to use force!
Doing a head count once the room was cleared and sealed to stop the fire from spreading and to extinguish the flames, Malcolm appeared to be a rather dark shade of red despite his tanned skin; he bowed his head at the class, "I do apologize for that... It was never my intention for things to turn out this way! I know I might not be forgiven, but please, everyone, take the whip as my way of making it up to you... It is no ordinary whip - it is a Minipet that grows by absorbing the energy in the air. It will get attached to which ever Minipet it absorbed the most energy from, and has a calming 'hiss' as well as a sedative bite that might help in Minipet training... It will, however, only work on the Minipet it is attached to! If you do not use the whip, it will still grow, just at a slower rate... If you lock it up, it will die... And Whip Snakes are extremely loyal to its master, 90% of the time. They are naturally more submissive. There are still some rather rebellious ones though..."
Vlad whimpered, and Malcolm sighed, "Please, dislike me if you wish to but do not blame Vlad. An owner should take responsibility for his pet's actions after all..." He had a feeling everyone would blame him naturally though; if only he didn't put that fire there! That was the cause, right?
"And do not leave this class with a bad impression of it." He added with a nervous nod, "I assure you that the next class will be more interesting... And less exciting. Again, I apologize..."
[Yeah, that's what the fire was for. 8D I am a sadist!
PS. GUYS, post your Minipet profile and I'll send you a whip once its been uploaded! <3 Thank you for joining Malcolm in his first class! No homework for this class~
Assume that either Malcolm or his totem animal carried your student out if he/she was unable to run for whatever reasons!]

Finally she could give the whip back and be done with it. She watched eagerly as the harness and box started to make it's rounds to collect everything back up, and then stared in horror as the poor creature tripped and stumbled close to the fire. Then as flames began to lick up the side of the box the water djinn froze, a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach causing shoulders to tense and throat to swallow, audibly. She'd never confided it an anyone before, but the marid was terribly phobic of wild fire. Candles, lighters, controlled or contained flame was perfectly fine, but as soon as those flames migrated where they shouldn't it was cause for panic. And panic she did. Clutching the dream scareon to her chest(whip included), the poor ghoul knocked her stool over in her bid to back away from the fire. Brilliant blues wide and showing a little too much white as she stared at the progressive crawl of the flames. It was time to leave, beyond time. It hadn't taken the calls of the teacher of the barks of the dog. Yaya had walked rapidily and rigidly behind the row of seated students that had been to her left. Grabbing hold of West and Junko's shirts, sleeves, or arms as she passed them. Dragging them along with her. Pausing only to let them retrieve their own pets. They were leaving. Now. Yesterday even. So gone. Beejoux

Rain was positively speechless. She had never been carried before, let alone by a man, furthermore by a man that wasn't even wearing a shirt! She went from being terrified of the fire that was leaping nearby (far too close for her comfort) to blushing profusely in his arms while her Witch clung to his hair. She barely registered the chaos that was going on around her. When he put her down, she grabbed her minipet. The Witch was now looking at the Professor with starstruck eyes. Rain's knees felt a little weak and she dropped to the ground, still holding her minipet. She wasn't sure what was affecting her more, the professor or the fire. She barely managed to catch what he said about the whip. Had she been worrying about the weapon for nothing? It seemed to be special. Did he say it was a minipet itself? Whip snakes? Oh, this was a lot to take in. Were the others okay? She pushed herself up to her feet and looked around. All seemed well for the most part. "Th..th..thank you," she whispered though she knew the professor wouldn't be able to hear her with all that was going on. She was just thankful to be alive. Zombies and fire don't mix. (( Meeki))

The only thing that processed to the envy demon was fire. The whips hadn't bothered him too much because, as he had figured, Luka had thought it a playtoy. But the fire business made Livi stand up, whistling for his little pet. Lua was too busy having fun to truly pay attention and it made his owner frown. "Luka! Come here instantly!" Maybe it was the worry in Livi's voice, or the fact he had actually raised his voice but Luka finally stopped and turned his head. And in turning his head, he noticed the flames... Before Luka had a chance of freaking out, Livi had decided it was better to grab him and Tomoko's Desades before anything could happen to him. Keeping them both close, and hoping Desades didn't like attacking people, the demon hurried toward Tomoko, gently taking hold of her elbow and guiding her out of the room. "This way please, Miss Tomoko. I have your pet here. Please gather the rest." Mainly since he didn't wish to take hold of all her pets. It was definitely time to leave but he looked back at him, hoping the professor was all right... part of him wanted to stay and help.. if he wouldn't get in trouble for it anyway. mini profile
