Fearing for the books in his bag, since he had a particular fondness for books, Julian scrambled into the fray after the dog that was now tearing about, throwing books and papers everywhere. He wasn't the only one diving after it, several of the other students, Amrita and the demoness who was supposed to be sitting next to him included. The other two boils seemed to be on it, but a book came flying out to knock the patchwork back to the floor.
Another one came flying at Julian, but he slid against the slick floor and managed to duck the projectile.

Trembling with growing frustration rather than pain now, (although there still was plenty of the latter) Christof's hands once more returned to fists. Who had thrown the book?? Who thought that was FUNNY? Where they all mocking him? He managed to roll onto his side, pushing himself up with an elbow just in time to- receive yet another book t the face.

But there should be something causing the ruckus, shouldn't there?
From his position closer to the floor, maybe he would be able to see...or, err, it at least discern where it was coming from.
Another book sailed over his head.

Finished with the walk, Jericho pried the objects out of his horns. When he managed to do so, he glanced up to see a very happy Amrita standing nearby. In his frustration, he only managed to crack a faint smile at her achievement and merely nodded in response. That glimpse of a smile soon disappeared as he heard a... barking noise?
Furrowing his brow, he turned towards the teacher who called their attention to the ghost dog that was somewhere in the room.
Before he knew it, he caught movement in the corner of his eyes. Quickly, he ducked down, feeling a breeze as a textbook sailed right over his head.

Sliding across the floor to avoid the flying books had sent the Harbinger to the ground when his feet finally slipped out from under him. Granted, Julian caught himself with his palms thudding painfully against the floor. It hurt and had jarred his arms a good bit, but at least he hadn't cracked his head against the floor.
A glance around told him that he'd lost the dog.

Maybe...trying closer to the floor. He might have to lay down. This was going to take some serious, err...searching.
If whatever the thing was was invisible, it wouldn't matter if he shut his eyes, right?
It did, apparently. He was too close to the floor, and a textbook skidded across the floor and pinged him. ...He'd try searching a little err, more to the left.

What the -
Ren did not particularly care for dogs, so the fact that one was loose in the classroom did not make him very happy.
Besides, it was interrupting his naptime.
Something whipped past his head - was that a textbook?
"JACKDAMMIT!"

Oh. Well. Since everyone else was trying to find it...she should too!
Apparently trying to help was a bad idea, as the poor Vetala got smacked in the face with a book. Ouch! Whining in distress she rubbed her face, hoping what was left of her nose was still intact.

There, out of textbook firing range.
He searched from the floor very diligently, in the one spot.
And....actually caught it.
Who would have guessed. Ghost dogs, Barth decided from the place he had not really moved from, were not especially bright.

Quickly, Jericho looked around to try and find where the little critter might be. This only resulted in another textbook flying for his head once again. Tilting his head to the side to avoid getting smacked, he let out a growl and tried to see where it could be.

Ren had dived to catch the stupid thing - and missed.
"Ow."
But apparently someone else had caught it first -
"Oh, thank Jack...wait I forgot your name. Bob? Barker? Brutus - oh, Barth, that's it."

It was a disaster. Students getting smacked in the face by flying textbooks, yipping, invisible dogs barely escaping the grasp as a few, braver students made mad dives to catch them. This...
Was not at all how she expected the first class to go.
When Barth caught the dog, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Bartholomew." she looked at where the dog was, clearly unimpressed before turning to Aymet.
"I can see you and I will be requiring a short chat after class." her look was stern, "Please get a handle on your pet, and refrain from bringing another to class from now on." it sounded suspiciously like a threat, and with the way Xypher was hanging around, it just seemed in the best interest to at least pretend to agree.
The professor picked up one of the torn books, and frowned. On the cover was written "An Archive of Cultural Pride." It was clearly the text book she'd meant to hand out after the posture lesson.
"I'm sorry, students, but it looks like today we will have to end early. Those of you who have yet to complete your walk, please do. As for the rest... Unfortunately, I will have to restock these text books. So, you are all welcome to thank you friend Aymet, as I will be giving you all an assignment to complete over the next few days, at home."
"As we were to begin our introduction into the various cultures, and their histories, what I'd like for you each to do, until our next class, is write a little about what you know of your own culture, and traditions that may be important to you." she picked up another torn book, giving it a look of dismay.
"I will see you all next class, I apologize for the interruption. We shall resume with some more pertinent lessons in our next meeting." with that, she dismissed the class who'd completed the task, letting those who finished after leave upon completion.
== (( Firstly, SORRY THE ACTUAL LEARNING THING DID NOT HAPPEN THIS CLASS : things kind of went downhill quickly due to a little trouble maker, and his little dog too. SO If you have a photoshop like program, and want to write something out on it to look handmade : go for it. If you just want to write out something in text, that's fine too! You have until Thursday, January 20th to complete this task. Thanks! AYMET : You have detention :U GRATS. ALSO TO TOSH : WHILE IT'S NOT SOMETHING COOL LIKE A MINIPET OR ANYTHING, you totally get a free headshot sketchy thing like this for catching the dog xd )

These walking exercises made him a bit... baffled. Maybe since back home, they never particularly applied to him having to do it. But he was liking the chance of getting to try something new, regardless of the fact he had somewhat failed the first time. Hard to feel self confident when the teacher gives you a look of... why are you failing? That part really brought him down but he took a deep breath and tried the next task. It had taken him a bit longer than he had thought til he started and he just had to pick when there was an issue going on in the class to try.
Maybe this experience would help him learn or something. All he had to try to do was block out the sounds and walk. Walking was what everyone did every day! Granted, not with books or perfume bottles on their heads, but that didn't make it a variant from the daily grind. Right? .... Wrong. He wasn't sure what made him lost it but he definitely failed. It was hard to say what kind of emotion filled him at the moment but it was particularly unpleasant and he wanted to crush something. Though his eyes shifted shades for a second or two, he took a deep breath, let it out and then chuckled. Really, there was humor to be had in this! Pumpkin had never been to his taste, but this brand wasn't quite so unpleasant. And he knew he couldn't be perfect at everything... just... this was something he prided himself on and he was making a mockery of himself.
That bothered him the most. But he swallowed it and opened his jacket to pull out his somehow dry handkerchief and worked on blotting out what he could of the mess before he picked everything up off the floor, went to get a new set and start over.

Riley seemed a little too preoccupied with grooming the perfume off of her tentacles to worry about some dog. A textbook came flying in her direction, and one of her tentacles swung up in front of her, batting it away just before it hit her face. She rubbed down her tentacles in annoyance, and finally looked up to see what the fuss was about.
Of course, being that the dog was invisible, she couldn't actually see what the fuss was about.
What she did see, however, was a very angry looking Jericho. In fact, he looked like he was about to explode. Come here, Jericho. She patted her leg, which was leaning against the desk while she performed her task.

((omg, you passed..sort of...on the first roll, LW))
As Ms. Winter had begun to explain what their next task was, LW had felt her tail start to twitch in dread. She had barely been able to complete the stupid walking the line they just completed! Not that she would tell the teacher she thought it was stupid. But now, not only were they supposed to do it again, but they had to do it while balancing stuff on their heads! This was...not going to go well. She just knew it.
The whole ordeal with the ghost dog didn't do any good to ease her dread at having to fail once again at something that should have been a simple task. She missed out on actually trying to find the thing, though a few textbooks came at her that she ducked behind people to avoid.
Finally, things were settled down a little and she was able to take up her turn at this. Very carefully. Ignore everything else. Though that was a little too much to ask. As she walked, she glanced around and found the faces she knew well. This made her wobble a little and something smelly fell on her shoulder. But...she did it! She actually did it alright on the first attempt! Grinning, she padded over to give Ren a playful shove followed by a tail bump to Natalia. She also spotted Christof and called out to him. "Hey Christof! You did great on the first task!" The she-wolf hadn't gotten to tell him before they went straight into the second venture. Now she did.
And now it seemed class was over? Interesting.
