Scarlet looked at him and smiled softly. She looked up at the man and nodded. "Yes. Your right. I want this one." she said and stood straight up.

Want this one? What does she mean by that?! thought Verde nervously, looking up slowly. He got another look at Scarlet, what was going to happen?

The man nodded and opened the cage. "Would you like zip ties or handcuffs?" he asked. Scarlet looked up and his and shook her head "No it's alright." she said. The man nodded and pulled him out. "Come on get out." he ordered. Scarlet winced seeing him do that. She payed the man and he left. "Enjoy." he said. Scarlet handed him a long coat. "Come on." she said and placed her hand on his shoulder.

Verde stood up and walked out of the cell. He ignored the coat and moved his shoulder away so she couldn't touch him. He did not trust her at all.

Scarlet sighed and pulled him close. She looked around. "Listen just cooperate. They're watching. I'll take you home." she whispered looking at him. She handed him the coat again.

((I can't help but think that Scarlet turning so anti-slavery so quickly was one of the undoings of our previous attempt. If that's what you're doing here, I would say to make her more selfish... It's your call though.))
Verde sighed, then put the coat on begrudgingly. He stayed silent and followed after her.

Scarlet pushed him along. "Hurry." she said and went to her car. She waited til he got in.

Scarlet started drving home. She glanced at him. "Okay so here is the deal you work for me for a year and then I'll take you home." she said and smiled.

Scowling at her, Verde immediately disliked her. She might have been telling the truth, but he knew she wasn't. Why would she be telling the truth? He refused to talk to her.

"What do you want from me?" he asked calmly, voice raspy from not drinking often enough in the cell. He couldn't help but notice the looks that she would give him when she thought he wasn't looking or paying attention. He desperately hoped she wouldn't use him in the way he was thinking about.

"I just need an assisstant for a year. My company is going up hill so quickly I need help keeping up." she said and glanced at him. She smiled a little again.

Yeah, and then a couple months later, will you fall for temptation? thought Verde bitterly, looking out the window of the car. "Whatever... It's not like I have a choice or anything." he muttered darkly.
