(Cal and Panther)
just mingling.> The Ninetails raised his nose higher, if that was even possible. He smirked.
His red gaze shot to the Gengar.
Serena's tango was a chaste one, the dance of a girl who had never been in love with a man and - perhaps - didn't quite understand the little thrill running through her every time this dark stranger kissed her hand. She followed well, eager to see where Kato would lead.
(Sorano)
Sorano's stiff, removed style seemed to suit Tethys just fine; she gave his raised elbows a slight brow-raise, but then they were off. She was stiff at first, a column of ice in her narrow gown, but as she was led around the floor she seemed to.. well, melt wasn't the right word, but she seemed to have a particular talent for adaptation.. and following leads.
"You dance well." She may as well have been reading the words off a script.
(Bouncy)
"It's a pretty stimulating environment - catering was better last year, but." Ethan shrugged in a sort of 'what can you do' motion. "Good help's hard to find these days."
"Anyway, here." Her twirled the Pokeball again on his fingertips, caught it and hit the release button. Red light beamed out and solidified into a rather.. blank-eyed looking little form, all whites and blues with a large nose and a mouth like an inverted V.
"Oshawott!" the Pokemon declared, raising a paw to Steve in greeting.
(Seth)
There was a space between them that needed fixing. Nadja's lips curved knowingly as she placed a hand on Seth's chest. A fluid arc of her wrist lured him in, only to find it become a tight spin that revealed a hitherto hidden slit in her gown as she twined a leg around his thigh to keep their motion together.
The amber drops of her necklace slid into the hollow of her throat as Seth dipped the redhead, stood still as he brought her around to guide another complicated twisting step with little unduations of his wrist.
A young man with a mane of barely tamed black hair contrasting with the sharp appearance of his dark blue suit turned to watch the pair glide past, foreheads touching and gazes locked. By this point.. well, by this point there was a light flush to the woman's skin, lips parted slightly in an exhilarted smile. Her gray eyes were warm and intense in the glow of the lights.
And suddenly it was over - with a lunge that brought them low to the ground, faces so close they were almost touching and her skirt pooled on the floor.
Dancers began to shift and look around as five seconds passed, then ten, and the next song didn't start. There was some movement up by the podium as the dark-haired man called Leon adjusted his bowtie and approached the microphone.

(Tethys)
He remarked her with a quaint nod. "Thank ya." he replied.
It wasn't surprising though. Any woman that meets his touch is considered a pure personification of feminine beauty through dance. In other words, what Clyde wouldn't treat his Bonnie well?
Upon the short silence of a man approaching the upper podium, Sorano sighed. Darn, he would have liked to continue dancing.

[Nadja]
The 'come hither' gesture was answered as he quickly moved to close in the gap. The sharp dip following and his hand moving up her thigh as she entwined her leg around his, again tantalizingly close but not quite touching.
As the dance continued, his cool blue eyes never left her warm gray ones. She was taking up all of his attention, thus Seth paid very little attention to the people around them.
A few more flourishing steps and suddenly they were both nearly on the floor. The song was over, but they stayed that way for a few moments. A fine sheen of sweat glistened on his skin, as Seth tried to catch his breath, their faces so close. Then in the next moment he closed those few centimeters and brought his lips to hers in a kiss that matched the passion of their dance.
[Faleen]
"Good good, I am glad to hear it."
James then followed "Kaylee"'s line of vision to the dancing pair. He watched with intrigue as the final moves were executed and the dance came to an end. He lifted his hands in polite applaud. "Quite the talented dances were have here tonight."

There it was. That was the determination in Nyx's eyes that signaled it was on. Though what her motivation was, Mau could only hope it was their target. With their hands locked again, Nyx once more facing Mau, he took a long, half stride forward, pushing Nyx to do the same before stepping back. He looked left as he guided Nyx to change directions and spotted Seth and Nadja dancing like old pros. Yes, it was indeed on. Now and again, Mau whispered something to Nyx. Kick your left heel back. Right leg outside my left. Lean back. They were always subtle, always with the beat, adding extra flourish to the dance as they spun past their superiors.
As the music finished in a a final decidedly direct few notes, Mau quickly released Nyx's hand, ducking in under her arm as he lunged forward with his left leg as he turned Nyx slightly so she was half seated, half bent back over his extended leg. Mau was leaning over Nyx as he caught his breath from the exhilarating dance.

The dragonair scoffed and turned her head so her owner could smooth her feathery ears. Apparently she was going to ignore the pidgeot.

Meanwhile Deimos remained beside the hors d'oeuvres table, nibbling on some expensive cheese as he watched the room, occasionally offering a crumble to his shaymin.

Still alone, having failed at finding any more women to pretend to be interested in him, Carl had found a chair and was currently stroking his black persian's head.

Leonard stared at the Oshawott a little longer than he would've liked to. But he'd never seen one of these sea otter Pokemon before, not in pictures and not in real life. It was pretty awesome, and he'll admit, a little cute too.
"Leaf!" Steve didn't act like he had never seen this Pokemon before in his entire life. He was just glad that he was making a new friend (and his jerk trainer wasn't getting in the way). "Eon!" He chirped and waved his tail in a hello.
"That's impressive! I mean Oshawotts are still rare outside of Unova aren't they?" He said. Leonard noticed that the music stopped and turned his gaze towards the dance floor. Someone was stepping up onto the podium, but he was more focused on his fellow Rockets that were dancing. Especially Seth and Nadja. They really got it on didn't they?

Aila had adopted the standard position of the wallflower, a glass of something mild pinched delicately between her fingers. A resolute gaze very nearly akin to a glare warded off the odd approach as she watched the couple dance. Unlike most of the guests, however, the couple on which Aila's eyes were locked was the dark-skinned pair, shifting occasionally to the position of the delighted little girl and the somber, towering man who guarded her. The music reached a crescendo and a conclusion, and the two responded accordingly. Aila set down the glass, drawing a gaze from her impatient Misdreavus. There had been a distinct lack of adoration that evening, and she was ready to move on to greener pastures. Leon's sudden movement towards the podium, however, gave her human pause. That Isadora woman had mentioned that he would be giving an address. A brief moment passed in introspection before the decision was made. Aila would stay and listen - for part of it, at least.

(James Swanson)
“Indeed, it appears that way”
It started at her toes, a numbness spread and crawl up her legs slowly crawling up her spine, gloved hands clenching tightly into one another as she stood and stared, somewhat transfixed, at the dance floor in front of her. It was all like it used to be, just like it used to be, the smell, the sounds, the people. In the moment of weakness, only let in because she foolishly dropped her guard, her posture suddenly sank from its high refined elegance. Silk laid shoulders sinking, knees becoming weak, and the dull pain in her feet from the heels increased.
In that split second, the amount of hate she felt for everything nearly overwhelmed her, telling her she had to leave, She didn’t belong here anymore, and most of all… she didn’t want to be here anymore, she didn’t want to be part of this world anymore. But something struggled though her weakness, a much stronger sense of loyalty and new source of strength. In this, she was reminded why she was here, and why none of these feeling mattered anymore, not to her, not to anyone. She was part of Team Rocket now, and nothing matter except for the mission. Just as quickly as her posture failed, did it return, chin back up, shoulders strong, and back lengthened.
Rocket Grunt Faleen inhaled a long, silent breath in through her nose.
Turning back to Mr. Swanson, she gave him a convincing smile, tilting her head softly “It was an honor to meet you sir, I hope not for the last time tonight. If you will pardon me, I must excuse myself” she explained, sounding regretful in the words, but polite.
With one last gracious bow to the elder man Faleen turned, making her way back along the dance floor to find her partner. Lifting a hand as she went to touch the back of her gloved fingers to the side of her face just before her ear, feeling how hot her face was. She took in another breath, brushing the curls of her hair away from her eyes, composing herself once again.
She spotted Sorano, dancing with what she guessed was a potential target for Team Rocket. She chose not to interrupt him, instead she halted, sliding her feet together and making use of her time to glance around for any other guests that might catch her eye. Instead, there seemed to be someone ready to speak up on the stage.

This young lady was a bit tentative, and he allowed himself to have a little extra fun with him. She didn't seem to mind that he wasn't a master dancer, and as the dance progressed he got a little more daring. The early thoughts of regret were squished the the music and dancing feet and as the song drew to the end, he dipped her, easily supporting her weight his own face close to hers and a daring grin on his face. After a moment he eased her up only to find there was no next song but a speaker on the stage.
the gengar nodded aprovingly.

"D'ddy!" Leon's little girl wriggled free of her mother's grasp - both the woman and the bodyguard made a grab for her with a hiss of "Non, petit, he's busy!" but she was an old hand at dodging and rapidly caught up to her father, skirt flouncing.
"Hm-" Leon looked away from the crowd. Something behind the podium piped, "Up!"
The man laughed and bent down, reappearing again with the little girl rested on his hip. "Everyone, my daughter Aila!" he announced with the grin of a proud parent.

(Panther and Serena)
With the heat of the dances coming to an end, her eye's fell idly onto Seth and Nadja. Their movements were fluid and intense as if competing for dominance. It was so..... Exhilarating! Even for her, herself not dancing, it felt as if she too had spent the night on the dance floor. She finished her drink, placing it back on a table as she watched over the conversing pokemon.
Blossom nodded with a smile. Of course she knew that nothing would come of this little dance.
(Passing by Carl)
Cal needed another drink. The music had stopped and now, she was watching over the pokemon and for something else to happen. With the drink table not too for, maybe a few steps away, she made a swift moment as to not leave the pokemon alone. A sleek black Persian caught her eye, along with a sweaty forlorn young man. She slightly grimaced, continuing on to get her drink and return to the pokemon.

What a twist!
Sorano blanched. Aila? His gaze traveled from the form of a young girl held high to search for the pink eyed, puffy cheeked girlie who was known to him as a magnificent dancer. When, what, how . . . ? Aila did not seem too much of a common name but, maybe it was just coincidence?
His mind traveled back to their first meeting and remembered once of how she grew somewhat tart over something. His mind was just not working than as his mind was stuck in a deathlike awe he couldn't think. What was the meaning of this?
Whinny jiggle-ran up to Sorano and caught the hem of his pants in a pant. Somethin' was up and it spooked her.

(Mau)
Nyx panted slightly as she rose from Mau's leg, almost worn out from stepping up their game. She noticed the end of Seth and Nadja's dance, and she wasn't happy, but part of her didn't care- The other part was seething. Mau and Nyx had danced better than both of them and Seth was stupid. Nadja had come down with the crazies, obviously, and there seemed to be no cure. The scientist would simply have to be near and care for her dear Elite until she passed away from or naturally got over this awful disease.
But those were thoughts for another day. The only way to deal with her inner turmoil was to push it to the back of her mind and not care. Nyx resolved to do just that and smiled, almost playfully, at Mau. "I think business went well." She leaned closer to Mau and spoke in a hushed whisper, "Shall we move closer and then continue the rest after whats-his-face makes finishes?"
She was not expecting, as she started to move casually across the floor, to hear Aila's name. Nyx looked up towards the podium, half expecting to see her mortal enemy standing up there, still trying to look and act better than everyone else, but instead there was a child. "Huh..."

(Leonard) (Mission accomplished, re-appearing in preparation for tomorrow >o> )
It had been quite some time that Claire was gone - or it seemed like it, at any rate. But after a hasty, hushed conversation with her Pidgeot in a secluded area, she'd thought it best to keep the still extremely vexed bird safely in her pokeball. Not to be seen without a pokemon, however, she had, with all the excitement of a young child required to do several hours worth of very unsavory chores before spending the rest of the evening doing excruciating amounts of homework before the ever looming threat of bedtime, loosed Zeus after recalling the golden feather-brain. Another hushed conversation ensued, following with a fervent plea and an offer for a large number of delicious-sounding triple-chocolate cookies, to which the chubby Pikachu quickly agreed to.
So, after several minutes' time, the now-brunette re-entered the ball with a shiny Pikachu on her shoulder. Unfortunately - or perhaps fortunately - she hadn't anything to put on him to make him 'fancier' such as a bow or anything of the sort, so he remained plain as he always was.
Thankfully it didn't take her long to find Leonard, or "Kenneth" as he'd be known for the rest of the night. A fine name. The name he'd inadvertently given her - Cladalia of all horrid things - sounded like some sort of ridiculous STD or something. Ugh...
Luckily for her, he was still at the hors d'oeuvres table, and she gave him a light touch on his arm when she returned, noticeably calmer than before. Whether she was indeed calmer now or just masking her inner rage by use of her infamous poker face was something even Zeus couldn't tell, and his ears twitched as he looked around suspiciously at the other party-goers.
She forced herself to make a surprised face at the sight of the other man's small, blue and white creature - obviously the other teammate he'd referenced before her sudden departure, and her hand lifted in an elegant motion to partially cover her mouth, slender fingers splayed slightly in an effort to look dainty. How she loved playing roles... "Oh, my! What a beautiful little pokemon! I haven't seen one before, not even in pictures! What is its name?" Target acquired? Heck yes.
Zeus eyed the little ...thing, tail twitching slightly. A water-type, obviously. Hmph. Easy. His brows furrowed and he let out a little growl at the tiny thing.
Claire had already picked up a chocolate eclair from the table and broke off a generous portion before nearly shoving it into Zeus' face, which broke into a surprised look with an eager 'ooooh' as he quickly inhaled the whole thing, including two of his owner's fingers. She gave him a reproachful look which he pointedly ignored, just in time to hear the man at the podium reference his daughter Aila. Wait, what? Violet-turned-hazel eyes swiftly focused on the man and his young daughter, and Claire blinked in slight surprise. "Such a lovely name," she murmured. It had to be a coincidence, even if Aila was a rather uncommon name.
