Riley didn't realize she was yelling. She felt instantly contrite, and lifted up both her hands to grab Jericho's head with them. The balls of her fingers rubbed against his temples.
Sorry, sorry, sorry. She whispered into his head, obviously far more guilty than usual. I feel funny. I don- bubbles rose from her tentacles, interrupting her words- don't know why. I think I'm sick. Maybe the cold. At least being on top of Jericho would keep her warm, as awkward as it seemed.
OH LOOK the doctor was awake, GLEE. Riley turned her head and dropped her hands, looking up at it with wide, glazed eyes. Nobody got attacked because I was watching guard. She whispered. Nobody will ever eat you while I'm alive, Maladore. Nobody.

"Molto grazie," Malodore responded, giving Riley a polite bow. "While I would love to examine the innards of these bizarre tree-beings, I would prefer to do so from a position of power rather than one of digestion."
She was sick, though? The plague doctor frowned, inasmuch as it could do so given its rigid beak. "Perhaps you should use your tent. They are quite comfortable and warm." Apparently Malodore couldn't identify the effects of intoxication unless they were a.) pink elephants or b.) completely stinking obvious, i.e. Israfel-ian.

Jericho's eyes widened somewhat as she started to rub his temples. He was torn on telling her to get off since he was feeling awkward here and just letting it slide since he was getting warmed up at the same time. For now, the latter won out. He really hated being cold.
"A-are you going to be alright?" he asked with a frown. Now he had to wonder if this sudden spurt of strangeness in Riley had to do with being up all night in a JOY filled land. Perhaps they all needed to be a little more careful with this place..
"The JOY didn't get to you d-did it?"
Glancing over at the doctor, he also had to wonder if he'd have some sort of remedy for any JOY-induced illnesses. ... Probably not.

Riley flickered her eyes over to Israfel's tent when Malodore suggested it, but after some careful (peanuts) thinking, she shook her head. Her thoughts were sporatic and sent to pretty much anyone awake at this point. Can't sleep. Trees will eat you. I'll just stay warm and - there came the bubbles again, they distracted her for a moment when they floated into her line of sight - hmmmyess. That's nice.
Tilting her head back to look at Jericho, her chin resting on his chest, she shrugged at his question. When he mentioned JOY, however.. she froze, before jolting up quickly to a sitting position. Which, in all honestly, looked even more awkward, but she had no idea.
JOY. NO. I'm taaintteddd.. it's over for me. Leave me behind to rot. Save yourselves while you can. Oh, it's cold. She slunk back down and flopped on Jericho, faceplanting into his chest. Tiny bubbles steadily floated up above her head.

"Nobody is being left behind," Malodore said firmly. "Luce, here-"
A moment later, the warm wriggly form of the cwn puppy was draped over Riley's back - Luce was a veritable space heater, and after a moment of shifting about to get comfortable she stayed put, wagging her tail occasionally.

Frowning, the dragon soon let out a grunt as she faceplanted into his chest after sitting up.
"What the doctor said, n-no one's g-gonna be left behind," he mumbled, blinking as the hellhound was placed on top of Riley. What, were things just going to start piling up on top of him? Well it had its advantages for now at least.
"M-maybe what you need is a g-good fight... kill s-some of these J-J-JOY things," he mused while trying to think of what might be able to be done to get rid of a JOY infection.

It had been a few hours since Nuk had ducked away from the rest of the group, an assumptively-sleeping Shehk still in his arms. He hadn't so much gone to sleep as he had just dozed as they walked, which is why he'd taken to the back of the group, so as to not disturb anyone. Surprisingly, it hadn't been too hard to just close his eyes and walk -- there was a beaten path, so he couldn't run into a tree (unless... they walked into him first,) and he knew from what Shox had told them that they had quite a fair distance to go, so there was little worry of having walked too far. He also assumed that those in the group ahead would have told him if they were being attacked, (assuming no one hated him enough to let that happen, and if they did they probably liked Shehk enough to NOT let it happen,) so it seemed like a fool-proof plan to him. He got his shut-eye and still continued on his way.
As he opened his eyes a little blearily, the skinwalker found that all of his assumptions had been true, seeing the footprints in the snow ahead of him and the sound of voices up head, with just the barest of motion able to be seen. Glancing down at the Pricolici in his arms (he wasn't sure if she was still asleep or not, although judging by how many transformations she's gone through, the answer to that question was probably,) he shifted the Snowball Bazooka to the other arm before taking longer strides to catch up, making sure not to jostle Shehk a little too much. As it was, he got there just in time to see the purple tentacle-girl Riley straddled atop the not-dragon Jericho, a look of amusement curling the corners of his mouth.
"Tentacle-rape is not allowed on this fieldtrip," he teased with a smirk, glowing amber eyes glittering as they shifted between Riley and the Plague Doctor.

(( Inventory
HP: 15 Pumpkin Pills: 2 Carol of Bells: 5 Tents Pitched: 1 ))
The night had been calm, all things considered. For the most part, Corbin lay resting with his wings tucked warmly around him, arms being used as pillows. It was cold but the insulation of the tent and his wings kept him comfortable. There was one point where he heard more branches snapping, assuming it was the Envy Demon finishing off one of the trees.
Now it seemed everyone else was beginning to stir and Corbin pulled himself out of his dark nest. His body still ached, sore from the encounter with the tree, but he felt more alert and that was what was important. Working to put his tent away, the Wraith observed everyone, watching them all closely; the Doctor was speaking with the Mindflayer who seemed slightly tipsy despite him being unable to hear her responses, the Siren was still in his tent with the Raum and an Air Elemental acting as its guard, the dragons were resting and everyone else was minding their own business or tented up still.
Again, his thoughts wandered back to some of their other cabin mates who still were not with the group, particularly Seila. Where had she gone? He just hoped she was alright.
Everything packed away, Corbin rolled his shoulders and tried to get the kinks from sleeping on the ground out of his joints and back. His wings stretched pathetically but he looked far from pitiable, a calm expression as ever gracing his features. "Should we start getting a move on soon?" he asked to whomever was listening. In the mean time, he began picking out the pine needles from his wings and hair he had been too lazy to deal with the night before.

It was to those very words - "Tentacle-rape is not allowed on this fieldtrip," - that the lightning dragon woke, blinking a bit blearily inside his tent. But once the sense of the sentence penetrated his drowsy mind ... well. Aksaja had scrambled out of the tent in about two seconds flat, and stopped still, staring at The Pile of Jericho, Riley, and Luce. What .... the hell ....

Lucien was really unsure about the group of people he was in the moment he heard a familiar voice of Nukpana mention something about tentacle rape. Really now? Lucien wasn't even sure what it was, but the way people reacted, he had to be sure it couldn't have been all that pleasant. But neither was all this snow covering Lucien's bare feet.
He wondered if perhaps he had done something wrong to have such bad luck. A joy outbreak and snow covering his feet, could it get any worse? Lucien wasn't sure it could. He found himself wandering around the tents and his group members, checking to see what was going on. He hadn't seen Israfel yet, and it was unusually quiet. He hadn't quite placed those together as relating to another but that was probably the case.
"What's going on?" He questioned to the group.

Riley felt the heat of a little body squirming behind her, and tilted her head just enough to catch the sight of a little tail wagging at her shoulder. Then it was all warmth and happiness, and her eyes closed again. She liked Luce. She liked Luce a lot. She felt like jelly. Her tentacles wiggled in response to her thought.
Mmm, Riley purred, once again projecting her thoughts to almost everyone without realizing it. Fighting. Kill JOY. I'd love to. That would make me feel much better. She felt Luce snuggling into her, and responded by snuggling into Jericho. Waaaaaaarm.
Her tentacles stopped wiggling and stood at attention when Nuk spoke, and she opened one eye to stare at him. My tentacles aren't doing anything! She professed adamantly. They're not even.. a few more bubbles popped out from her tentacles, -getting me any.. there was a pause here, and something unusual was emitted from her - if any of them had been mindflayers, they would have understood it was a yawn. Since they were not.. it would just feel like static and pressure. -peanuts..
A buzzing sound filled their thoughts. It wasn't loud, and it wasn't painful, but it would have been annoying if she'd continued to snore in their minds for long. As it was, a jolt of wind snapped her back into consciousness, and her eyes blinked rapidly.
No sleep. Trees will eat you. Let's go, Jericho. She finally climbed off of him, only to help him up to a seated position and climb onto his back before he could protest. Her arms folded neatly around his shoulders, and her legs around his waist. Pointing forward, she announced.
Yip yip.

"I believe we're on the move," Malodore told Lucien quickly as Riley's 'snoring' cleared from its thoughts. "I don't believe we've met - my apologies. I am L.C. Malodore, but please call me Malodore."
Luce tumbled off of Riley as she sat up, and she fell end over end into the snow. She popped up out of the snowbank with a scolding bark directed at the mindflayer, then shook herself off, spattering everyone near her with a fine spray of flakes.

Yip yip? What the ... Jack was that supposed to mean? Oh well, at least it probably meant something interesting was going to happen here. MAYBE. Beyond more people getting drunk. Because the lightning dragon had been around enough drunk people in his life to have figured out that's what happened to Riley.
Damn Siren, sharing out the good cider with everyone but him! With a little hmph, Aksaja collapsed his tent and stuffed it back into his bag. "Let's get outta here. I want to find somethin' more interesting than trees to fight," he grumbled.

None of this quite made sense in Lucien's head, but then there was Malodore. He recognized this creature well from the Battle of the Bands and even some classes. They had never really spoken before and the air elemental nodded to it.
"Malodore," he said politely. "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Lucien."
He adjusted the tangled lights on his arm as he looked around, and then back to Malodore. He'd follow Malodore. It seemed to know what was going on, more so than what Lucien did. Regretfully, he wished he had payed a bit more attention to the situation than he had, then maybe he would not be as confused as he currently was.
"I will follow you then," he said, digging his feet into the snow below him. Then his eyes widened. The trees were back and one was attacking. Lucien didn't speak, but instead he pointed towards Riley.
