Artemis had followed her partner's location to find him here. Having just finished training, she was feeling much better. She grinned and waved at her partner as she approached, knowing better than to try and scare him by coming up from behind and tapping his shoulder (though she WAS tempted). "Which one do you wanna do first, Turtle?" She was pleased with her speed in getting over here, and was eager to go. She gestured with her hand that he could lead the way and begin any mission he wanted to. "I knew you couldn't stay away from me for long~"

Houou was extremely relived to see Artemis again, as if he hasn’t seen her in weeks. When in fact it had only been mere minutes. The feeling that overcame houou when he was alone, was enough to drive him mad. It’s as though without his friends, he would slowly revert to his reclusive paranoid state of not trusting the ones around him. Quickly leaping to his feet, houou shot Artemis a wide smile and gave her yet another hug.
"there was that escort mission to be completed. I believe the historian was to be picked up here in the streets. "
It didn’t take very long for them to find the nervous looking historian. He carried a bulky bag full of scrolls and had several books pulled up in his hands. It’s no wonder this guy needed an escort, he couldn’t make it through the streets without completely falling over with all that weight he carried.
“you wouldn’t happen to be the historian that requested an escort to the old barracks would you”
Houou said as he and Artemis carefully walked up to the estranged man. He responded only by shaking his head up and down in a rapid motion, then proceeded to look every which way. It was as if the man were hiding something or looking out for anyone trying to pursue him.
“worry not sir, we will get you to your destination in one piece. I happen to specialize in the wildlife you are trying to avoid contact with.”
Looking at Artemis houou face a stern look to signal that they were in mission mode. He didn’t need to explain to her that she should keep her head on a swivel. The two Shinichi stood on either side of the historian and began to make there way through the crowded streets.
Artemis nodded to Houou. She followed his gaze until they landed on the historian. She fought back a giggle at his paranoia. "We'll take care of you just fine, sir." She walked on the other side of the target, opposite of Houou. They would be good protection for him, with Houou leading them to the barracks and her sparing a glance at their six every few steps. Otherwise, her eyes surveyed the rooftops to make sure no one came from above. She wasn't sure who would be after a man like this, but it could be anyone.

Making their way to the main roads houou and Artemis stopped to look a the details of the next few missions.
“Looks like we’ve got someone dodging a debt, and two guys caught counterfeiting. The counterfeiters are covered in piercings so we should easily be able to catch them if they try departing through the gates. Looks like our other culprit is a red headed young woman, who owes money to scribes & scraps. She may be a little more difficult to fi..... ”
As houou looked up to make eye contact with Artemis, she would notice that he clearly wasn’t looking at her but past her. His eyes slowly started to squint as he inspected the person that had captivated his attention. Unlucky for him, the redhead had noticed houou staring at her with his squinted eyes and mouth gaping wide open. She slowly turned around and made her way for the gates, with a pep in her step.
Houou read the next missive statement, describing the thugs they were going to capture. Then, he suddenly stopped and looked past Artemis. One end of her lips perked up as she said, "Lookin' at other girls, huh?"
Unfortunately, the other girl was the thug that Houou had just been discussing. She suspected he wouldn't hurt her with his vines and since she'd been dying to punch someone anyways, she looked around for a water source. The market stand beside the redhead had an open bucket of water, filled with apples, and Artemis seized the opportunity. She made three quick hand signs, which made the water lift up in the form of chains and cling to the redhead's ankles and wrists, stopping her in her place. Artemis sauntered over to the struggling girl, who Artemis noticed was already panting, as if exhausted from her previous heists and probable escape from scribe security.
"You familiar with those pierced thugs, huh? Birds of a feather flock together, don't they?" Artemis flinched when the redhead spat on her face. The omni-elemental user emitted a sound of discuss as she wiped the front of her mask to clear it of the saliva. "Honor among thieves, bi-" Artemis slapped her quickly.
"Oi, where's that honor gonna getcha except in, well, chains?" She gestured to her own suiton handiwork. "I'll pay your debt myself, if you give them up." The redhead looked like she was still reeling from the slap and glared at Artemis, who simply shrugged. "No skin offa my nose, you don't wanna cooperate." She put her hands together, making hand seals and generating her chakra. She dipped her hands in the water bucket that the chains were still rising from.
She lifted the bubble of water until it covered the redhead's whole head. This interrogation technique forced the redhead's thoughts to be echoed allowed for Artemis and Houou to hear, which would give them the other punks' locations.

Houou could only stand speechless as Artemis interrogated the young girl before him. It pained him to see her being treated so roughly..... that is, until the redhead spit in Artemis’ face. Behind houous mask, his eyes would widen to the max, his mouth would drop steadily, and his hand would reach up to his head. “Big mistake” he thought to himself an Artemis reached up to clean the spot off of her mask.
Houou knew what would follow next, and he could do nothing to save the young girl. The moment Artemis slapped the girl, he knew that things would escalate. Artemis lived up to his imagination. Placing a bubble around the girls head, Artemis went full blown assassin in this girl. If she didn’t give an answer, and quick, she would die on the streets like a dog. But this did nothing, the redhead simply help her poker face as she slowly drowned. She was tougher than she looked.
In that moment, the redheads luck was on her side. Houou then spotted the two pierced men strolling out from a nearby alleyway and look in their direction. The two men froze as houou rubberneckers and made clear eye contact with them. Houou assumes that the three of them were preparing to rendezvous with one another and flee the village without paying their debts and cheating several individuals out of their money.
“Phoenix, search her for any Ryo, and confiscate it. We can’t trust that she will return to the shop and pay her bill. I have eyes on her comrades.”
Houou places a hand on Artemis’ forearm and pulled her hand seal apart, effectively deactivating the water bubble around the girls head. The redhead crashed to the ground and barely moved, she was definitely knocking on deaths door and didn’t even flinch. Houou immediately gave chase after the pierced men who were headed in the direction of the main gates of the village. If this woman was a tough but to crack, Houou imagined that these two men would be no pushovers either. Lucky for him the mission only stated that they need to retrieve the coin from the targets. If they put up a fight, Houou would need to take a note from Artemis’ book and employ some painful retrieval methods.
Artemis listened intently to catch the girl's thoughts. Most of it was empty threats and expletives. The blonde fought to not roll her eyes as she sorted through the echoes to grab the truth. She picked up key words like 'soon' and 'nearby' but those treasured thoughts were constantly being flooded by more aggressive ones, and she couldn't get the information she needed. During her search for answers, she completely disregarded the redhead's need to breathe.
Her focus was broken when Houou smacked her hands and released the technique. She was about spit curses at him, too, but she caught him chasing after two pierced punks. She rolled her eyes and grabbed the gasping woman by her collar, reaching a hand into her pockets to grab a sack of about a pound of ryo. "Damn it, she growled as she pocketed what would pay the debt and followed after her partner.

“so, I don’t know if those shinobi at the gate caught your eye or not, but I have a lot to fill you all in on. I haven’t told Dragon yet, but I’ve managed to form an alliance with the mizukage. This gives us tons of options when it comes to training and missions. I was waiting for the group to be all together but it looks like they are here looking for me. I’m to assist them with an important escort mission. I know you have several question but, We won’t speak much of it at the moment.”
Houou said as he walked extra close to Artemis. He kept his voice as low as possible even behind the mask.
Artemis furrowed her brows beneath her mask as Houou spoke. Was he keeping secrets? He sounded so rushed, she couldn't help but worry. She took a deep breath. He said they wouldn't speak of it at the moment, not that he'd never fill her in. Okay.
She nodded, understanding.

With city hall behind them, houou and Artemis made their way to the main gates. When suddenly, Atsuko’s voice echoed in houous ear. Naturally Artemis would be hearing the same transmission so he would not bother with alerting her to the fact. Atsuko sounded to be safe and sound with Tsu at his side. But what was all this talk of Konoha being in chaos. Houous concern began to stress throughout his mind. Was his friend surrounded by possible danger?
“Dragon I hear you loud and clear. Currently, I and Phoenix have just completed a set of missions and are headed to the gates of Takumi I’ve been wanting to catch all of the group together but I guess now is as good a time as ever, to share a bit of news. ”
Houou said while turning to Artemis, whom he had already given bits of information.
“I’m Extremely attracted to Phoenix!”
Houou shouted into the microphone with his eyes squinted shut. Now that this was off his chest he felt so relieved. There should be no tension when he was around her now.
“Ok with that being said I’m on my way to assist you. I should arrive in the land of fire within a days time. Maybe you could spare the new girl and have her train with Phoenix while we continue the hunt?”
Artemis waited patiently to hear Houou's news, fighting the urge to be anxious about it. She exhaled with relief over his actual declaration, then laughed. "I knew it! No one can resist this!" She emphasized her point by flexing.
She didn't want her group to be completely scattered, with Roxas god knows where and Atsuko in Konoha, but she knew they knew what they were doing, too. "Tsu and I can have a little fun in the city, that's for sure," she grinned as she spoke into the receiver. Maybe she'd spar with the new girl and see her skillset for herself.

Takumi had begun to wander the city, letting his mind be drawn back into the past. His past, having witnessed the destruction of Takumi City was merely fuel for his fire. Evil begets evil. He felt a chill in the air. The winter wind nipped at his skin. As it did, his mind began to trail back, back to days that seemed so distant...
Takumi recalled standing in a large training ground, saturated with water ripe for the chilling. He stood in the center of this soaked earth, facing off against the teachers back in the hidden mist. He panted, desperate for air as he was being over powered by their insignificant attacks. [1/5] " You lack the physical strength to combat us." One said as they poised their kunai knife to strike. In a blurred dash directly at Takumi the sensei would lunge to strike at the young academy student during their training session. Takumi would fall backwards, allowing the lunging action to pass over top of him. In that instance, he planted his foot in his stomach and kicked him over his head using his own momentum. [2/5] Just before the teacher would recover, flipping into a landing spot, the water around them began to emit a mist as the temperate rapidly lowered. The water seemed to instantly freeze. As it did, the man would lose his footing from his flip and crash into the frozen earth, sliding to a stop several feet further. [3/5] At this point, Takumi had gotten to his feet and had his hands before him, open palms facing downward. " You're right...but then again. Direct combat isn't my thing." Ice began to rise from the ground, creating a field of sharp, spikes. [4/5] A confident grin covered his face. His ice made last post made a perfect cover to throw his opponent off, create an opening and lock the battle field down to where he could not move freely. As the teacher approached, treading lightly, Takumi would draw ice around him as it flowed effortlessly. Just before his teacher reached him, a spear of ice formed in the academy student's hand, parrying the technique. [5/5] [ Ice Manipulation Learned ]
As the teacher recoiled from the defense, the spear vanished into the air as Takumi would sigh, shaking his head. " It won't be that easy." The particles of ice from the spear would swirl around him as they returned to the air slowly. The young student would grin, preparing his next tactic. [1/3] Takumi brought his hands together forming three hand signs. ' Ox, Tiger, boar' he thought as his fingers intertwined in various methods. Upon the completion of his final hand sign the frost on the ground would emit more of a fog than before as it raised from the earth. The frost began to swirl about in the mid day air, giving an eerie cloud of frozen air particles swirling about. [2/3] The frozen fog would prevent the academy teacher from viewing Takumi. What was his student doing in this concealment. Takumi would act from the shadows as he preferred, his teacher standing in the center of the ice field, unaware of what was to come. [3/3 Hiding in frost technique ]
With the sensei's kunai drawn, ready to defend, Takumi knew he would not be able to afford a frontal assault. From within the mist three kunai were guided with an accurate throw. Three melodic tones of metal on metal rang out, the teacher defending himself while Takumi prepared. [1/3]
From the frosted concealment, Takumi would inhale, preparing to attack again now that the teacher was not sure his location. Gathering chakra and exhaling deeply, a barrage would be unleashed upon the teacher. As the air passed from his lungs through his lips, the attack would be unleashed. [2/3] Needles composed of ice would spray like bullets from a high caliber machine. The senbon sized ice death sticks would spray at the teacher. The teacher's body would become riddled with the tiny spears. In a poof, the body vanished, a clone. Very tricky. The remaining spears would impale the rocks behind the genjutsu teacher. [3/3][ Suiton: Rekkū Suigeki [ Water Release: Cold Sky Water Attack ] ]]
The teacher would appear above Takumi, kunai coming down to strike him down. As he spotted him, he formed an open hand, drawing the frost from the air through his hand and converting it into water, creating a water kunai for the duration of the defense against the kunai strike. As it blocked the strike it spattered from the force. [1/1 Water Sword ]
The spattering water would hover mid hair as the teacher prepared to strike forward, Takumi back flipping to create distance. As he landed in a kneeling positon his hands showed the formation of the tiger seal. The hovering water globs forming into shuriken and flying towards the teacher to push him further back still. [1/1 Water Shuriken Technique ]
As the teacher dodged the shuriken created, Takumi held his hand out. A burst of chakra infused wind would take hold of the shuriken that had passed by the teacher. The shuriken reversed its trajectory and would graze the teacher as it passed by them from the back. The shuriken would continue, returning to Takumi's hand between his middle, index and ring fingers. [1/1 Retrieving Wind Technique ]
Takumi then brought his hand that held the frost shuriken to his mouth as they disolved into water, and removed his mouth, sending bullets of water flying towards his sensei. The teacher was caught off guard, Takumi seemed to have a knack for continuous movement, utilizing all of his elemental prowess. [1/1 Fish Spit ]
As the bullets of water traveled towards the enemy, Takumi would continue to focus. It seemed he was gathering up chakra for a slightly heavier attack this time. The instructor would act now. [1/3 ] Rushing forward, his teacher quickly closed the distance between the two. Takumi had little time to act before he was within striking range. Wait. That was it. He could have to assume Takumi was keeping him at a range for an advantage. But this could work in his favor too. He would let his teacher get within a few feet of him, drawing his kunai back. [2/3] Just as he would assume he had his student in checkmate, Takumi opened his mouth. A blast of water expanded outward and would strike his opponent in the face directly. The water spat expanded to nearly the size of a fist, striking sharply on the teacher's forehead as he was mere inches from Takumi. Even with his low ranked technique the unguarded surprise would knock him back enough to put him off balance. [3/3 Water Pellet ]
Using advantage of the off balance instructor, Takumi moved for one last finishing attack. He dashed forward, placing himself on the right side of his opponents body, grasping his left shoulder with his right hand and planting his right foot behind his opponent's left. In one combined motion of pushing the shoulder and reaping his leg back, the teacher fell to the ground. " Physical strength has nothing to do with it, teacher." He said with a smile.
Takumi's flashback ended, he continued to patrol about the streets, he began to wonder what had happened to his half sister, Chie. She was always so much better at plain ninjutsu than Takumi was, while Takumi had the ability to use his medical ninjutsu in ways no one else could. He moved out from the streets and continued walked.
Ayame and company make their way through the streets with a personal intent. They've noted the village's heightened sense of security and were treading cautiously. With that, they went to the scroll shop at first. //Exit
