Can senshi dream about their past lives, or can they only have access to those memories when they're in space?
Akina: Senshi can only uncover new memories while on their own planets, but they could dream about previously recalled memories. So, basically, if they already remembered it while on their planet, then it could reappear in their dreams, but it would be a recollection of the memory they recovered on the planet, not a new one.
Adding on, if a Guardian Cat spent their past life with their senshi on their home planet, would they have all those memories still? Or would they have to get them back the same way senshi do?
Mouse: They get them back the way senshi do -- they can go back with their senshi to their senshi's planet and get memories there.

I have a question about including IC shop events in backstory for a quest character.
My knight concept is, as a civillian, a member of the Destiny City Police Force. Would it be feasible to have had her as a responder to the after effects of the Ball, during the clean up and emergency efforts? It would purely be for historical purposes, building up to her own awakening, in face of the way the senshi and nega factions are tearing up the city, not for any req's.
Thank you, in advance!
Akina: You can definitely tie in past DC events to your character's back story. She should only know the bare minimum of it, just the civilian side of things, but it is certainly allowed.

I have a question about the Negaverse crystal communicator-mabob! Are they only accessible by regular nega agents, or do corrupt senshi also have them?
Akina: Just so you know, we are working on this!
Update on 5.15.11 -- SO SORRY for the delay. Corrupted senshi use Negaverse crystal communicators!

If I am remembering correctly, a Captain can corrupt someone's starseed and recruit them into the Negaverse with the assistance of a General. Is it possible to NPC both roles in a solo? Akina: A Captain could corrupt with the assistance of a General-Queen/King, not just a regular General. It would be incredibly draining for them. In terms of rank, a Captain could not decide to corrupt someone either. It would be a call that a higher-up would make.Is it also possible to just NPC the General providing that said General never comes up again? Or would it be best to discuss with a GM exactly what I have in mind? Akina: To be safe, I'd shoot the idea over to the mule. Or is it preferable to find a General-level player and ask them to RP it out? Akina: This is personally my preference. Always less messy! But again, a Captain would need a General-Queen, not a General to do this. This was a little unclear in the beginning before we had too many fourth stages, apologies. My memory is completely failing me, but, er... I have Alexander's art of his corrupted form, Lt. Ajoite. When I finally clear out all my questions and write out his corruption plot, would those solos count towards his growth or will they only count once he's officially corrupted IC? Akina: They would count before the corruption, yes, since he is a brand new character who was received as a powered one. I would err on the side of corrupting him sooner rather than later though. For Negaverse teams, is it possible for a lieutenant to form one? Or because of their low rank, would it be ideal to have an NPC'd disposable captain OR a Captain-level player running the show? Akina: Lieutenants cannot have their own teams. The Negaverse assigns Lieutenants to Captains/Generals for official teams. For the Destiny City Police Officers, what's their focus? Are they on the prowl for the terrorists running around causing destruction or has looking for said terrorists been added to their normal priorities of responding to 911 calls from domestic disputes to hostage situations to etc etc? Akina: Added to their normal duty list. They are responsible for keeping the peace, even if they have no idea what is going on in the city. Obviously this is a terrorist attack of some sort, or some brand new form of terrifying warfare! There are lots of rumors surrounding the truth of what is going on in Destiny City, and officers might have varying degrees of belief when it comes to that. So they do everything from writing speeding tickets to shooting bullets at mysterious shadow monsters. I have Merope's Super art, but he hasn't ICly ranked up yet. If he were to go into space, would I be bound by the senshi 3-week wait period or could I use the 2-week Super wait limit? Akina: He would have to stick to the 3-week period if he stays a regular senshi between now and his next trip. If you send him to space and then rank him up in your very next RP, then it could only be two weeks. Is there a limit to how many 'visions' a sensh can see per trip? Quote: The strength and clarity of your memories also increases with each stage: at the bottom tier they’re at the best fuzzy and brief, while if you’re at Eternal they’re going to be lengthier and easier to understand. As a general rule of thumb though, you won’t remember everything at once. It should take at least a few visits before you start having a clear image of your previous life! Akina: As a regular senshi, he should see only brief flashes of things. As a super, he might get a partial scene of something. At eternal, he can recall entire memories of certain things. So, the jist is... not too much as a super. He might see three-five different little moments, but they would be just that: tiny moments, partial blips of a longer scene.

Marushii My memory is completely failing me, but, er... I would err on the side of corrupting him sooner rather than later though.Alexander actually is not a brand new character. He was one of the three civilians to be handed out in Moonshop's very first contest. ^^; Would it still count? Or because he's been around for awhile would the solos only count once he ICly hits corruption? Akina: WHOOPS. I'm conferring with the other GMs on this one! Will let you know soon.
CLARIFICATION RECEIVED.
We have decided to clarify the rule on this. Because we want to encourage people to come up with plots leading from one stage of growth to the other and we know that you can't really plan these things until you know your art is ready, we have decided to provide a two-week OOC window for you to do RPs leading up to the awakening/upgrade of your character that will count toward your next stage of growth (even though they would ICly take place prior to your character's upgrade).
Basically, let's say this: you receive your art on May 1st, and you choose to awaken/do your first RP as the new rank on June 1st. Only the RPs that you started in the fourteen days BEFORE June 1st could count toward your NEXT stage of growth. Anything done prior to that would not count.
So! You can definitely do a little arc for Alexander before he corrupts, and yes, it will count towards his Captain requirements but ONLY for those RPs started two weeks prior to the OOC day you awaken him.
Also, just to reinforce, this ONLY counts after you have received the art. You can't get his art and awaken him on the same day and then count the RP done in the two weeks before you even had the art. That is the caveat.
If someone seems to be doing an execessive amount of their RP requirements in this two week window, the GMs reserve the right to cap the number of RPs allowed. This should really just be an arc leading up to your IC upgrade, not random RPs that are unrelated to significant development. We would hope no one would abuse it though! And why would you want to? Powering up is fun. No need to drag it out. 8D
This new clarification will be added to the upgrade thread! We definitely want to reward people who choose to do a lead-up to their awakenings/upgrades, but without allowing an unfair I-did-60-RPs-as-a-super-now-let-me-go-eternal-before-she-actually-upgrades-ICly situation. Please let us know if we can clarify it further.Otherwise thank you for answering my pile of questions there. :3

Just a comment on basic law enforcement, in reading the response above.
I'm not sure where you're going with DCPD canon, but any law enforcement agency would have a unit specifically dedicated to terrorism, and, in the event of a 'new type', they would certainly set a Problem Oriented Policing unit on it. Basically, a group of police officers whose main patrol efforts are centered on locating, tracking, and doing what they can to understand and stop the problem.
That's not to say that your average patrol officer wouldn't roll up on a 'suspicious person' call, and find themselves dealing with a youma or something [aka, regular duties], but, whether they 'officially' admitted to it or not, they'd probably have an undercover team working on it.
From a realism perspective.
Akina: If you wanted to quest for a police officer and organize this specialized task force, go for it! The assumption would be that police officers would be required to respond to crimes in progress, regardless of whether they were on that force or not. We will likely keep those details vague for now. So you could say that your character is on some rapid-fire response team, or you could say that they just respond to calls when they are in the area. Our normal idea has been to allow the PC characters to shape their jobs. For example, people create restaurants where their characters work, and I created DCNN as the major news station that broadcasts in Destiny City.
Fantastic! Thanks, Akina!

Would some of the things that happen in Destiny City make national news? I know main stream media will cover practically anything. Or would some of the things happening with the terrorists be more along the lines of the Inquirer?
Akina: In order to not break the game, we have a suspension of disbelief in some regards when it comes to Destiny City and the strange events. It would likely be covered as gang violence and animal attacks, potential threats from abroad. No one is broadcasting about sailor senshi from outerspace who are trying to stop evil. Think of it being whispered about in places like the Inquirer, and then sort of... glossed over in the mainstream as something more mundane.
Would it be possible for someone who read about an event in Destiny City to come to the city because of a news article about such an event. If I have a quest character who is a MUFON member, would it make a blip on his radar? Ex: The Christmas Eve event is covered in some rag paper.
Akina: Conspiracy theorists are definitely out there offering their opinions on what is going on in Destiny City! So it is possible an article posted in some eccentric magazine could lure a character to the city.

I am totally not doing this yet, nor plan to for a while, but i wanted to get an answer so i can ponder things to possibly happen in the way future.
I remember that corrupted senshi at one point, if they were awakened and then corrupted (AKA- mind wiped), as time grew on they would slowly get glimpses into their past. Just small blips, faces.. pictures. Etc. Nothing major just flashes here and there.
Does this still apply?
Akina: The blips and flashes only apply to her POWERED side, and they develop very, very slowly over time. It will be triggered similarly like how memories are triggered on senshi home planets. As in, Lyra might enter the warehouse where she was part of Operation Rota and get a flash of speaking with Ares in it. Or she might bump into Ares somewhere in the street, and then as they fight, get a random blip of a time when she and Ares fought side by side. She will never remember a single thing, not even the tiniest bit, of her former civilian life. I'd recommend chatting with Felyn about this as she plays one of our resident senshi-who-lost-their-memories.
This is my understanding of it. Another GM can probably elaborate!
Mouse: Going to agree with Akina in this case: one of the prices your senshi character pays in exchange for joining the Negaverse is the memory loss that comes with corruption. That in mind, we would rather see your character integrate themself into the Negaverse a bit before you tackle the idea of them getting glimpses of memory of who they were before joining.
This should be used as a method for character development only, and not for metagaming. Please do not use any recollection plots as an excuse for your character to regain knowledge about the other faction -- that would give you a pretty unfair RP advantage.
Natsube: I agree with the two above me, and I mostly used it as a "i recognize you but I have no idea why" muscle memory type thing, rather than suddenly remembering what went on in a planned attack, as there would be NO information available to you that would put your corrupted in a better position than other corrupteds; the Negas can torture and kill Senshi, or corrupt them. We have it set so that the Nega's WOULDN'T gain anything factual from the Corrupteds, so we really need to keep people clear on the no memories on things that have nothing personally to do with you, no memories about conversations you had this one time, but totally memories about those you felt strongly about.

I am sure this is a stupid question, but.... Before I start I was wondering if it is possible to quest for a corrupted chibi senshi?
Nessy: No, and they will never be open for questing. Children that young are so pure that they are uncorruptable.

Are guardian cats required to be teenagers/adults? Or can you quest one that is chibi age? Like 10?
Nessy: You may absolutely quest a cat that young but be aware they would be a very inexperienced cat. Also cats appearing that young will be very rare as well.

I have a question for sorta - long term future reference. As I realize this is a long time away for most chibis. (So it may well be a hypothetical question)
When a chibi senshi ages to the mark of 14 (where they're officially a normal senshi) would their art be eligible to reflect that? If so, how would one need to go about obtaining the older art?
Akina: All senshi are guaranteed three stages of art: regular, super, eternal. So if Hug-Bell goes eternal before she is 14, you would not get new art suddenly to reflect that she is older. Since we operate in real time when it comes to birthdays/aging, I don't think she will hit that for a couple years, yes? This might be something we discuss down the road, later on in the age of the shop itself. But! The rule of thumb is that you are promised three stages of art, and so that will be what you receive. Other GMs might be able to shed a little more light though.

I have a growth/rp question, just for reference and because I'm not sure about the rules.
Let's say someone has done all their requirements and has posted for growth. While waiting, they start a new rp as a civilian. In the middle of that rp they get their new art, and said rp is finished a little while later. Would that reg be able to count toward the next growth?
Mouse: It's the start date that factors in, not the finish date. You can only count an RP for your next growth if you started it after you recieved your new art.

Do knights have past lives like senshi do, and how much can we develop them? How do knights access these memories?
Akina: Unlike senshi, Knights more or less awaken themselves based on the idea that, at a particular moment, the mojo of the universe calls them to duty. They just reach out and grab their weapon and BAM -- you've got a Knight. You can either approach your character's past life in one of two ways:
1) Your character was alive in the past, and their soul has been reincarnated in this existence.
2) Your character is a descendent of a line of Knights, and they are simply awakened now whereas others in their family might have had the potential but were not called because the universe didn't need them.
(Note: the last time a Knight was awakened was way back when Endymion and Serenity first got together and forged the union between Knights/Senshi.)
Like senshi, Knights can only recover memories of the past by visiting the planets that they were sworn to serve. If you go with road two, then they do NOT have any memories of the past. For example, Cimmerian is the descendant of Knights, not actually from the past herself. Her gateway to the past comes from visions of Esabel, the last Cimmerian Knight before her, while on Pluto. Gehenna, on the other hand, is a reincarnated Knight so he would go to Mars and get his own little glimpses of past stuff based on his own memories of the events.
So basically, you just need to pick a flavor. Since Knights are so new, we are still working out some of their kinks so this information might be tweaked a little. But! This is the general idea of it presently. Another GM might be able to clarify it further.
Mouse: Akina's on the nose with the general idea. Right now we're chipping away at the specific way Knights can travel as well as some rough guidelines on what life was like on every Solar system planet so there's some common ground to stand on and work with when it comes to backstory.
Cimmerian was able to visit Pluto with Kurma's help, but rest assured that won't be the standard! Knights will be able to visit their wonder on their own.
I'm aware more info on this has been waited on for far quite a while, so I apologize if this is causing any inconvenience for your planning for your character. If you have questions or ideas you want to run by us regarding your Knight's legacy in the meanwhile, don't hesitate to post here or ask the mule about it.

What's the official, DCNN/Destiny City governmental explanation for the Great Youma from the BMC metaplot?
Akina: Weather balloon malfunction. People speculate about seeing a large animal, but since it was in a closed off part of town, there were no regular ole civilians close enough to the action to actually see anything up close. Besides, dragons aren't real... right? RIGHT!?

For Zue's rehoming, is there anything in particular you're looking for in the writing sample? Like 'how we'd play the character' or just a sample of writing from something we've done in the past? >->; Sorry for the dumb question but it's really the biggest question I had while going through the form.
Akina: There is a prompt in the thread! So your writing sample is a response to that prompt, containing no more than 1000 words. We want to see your writing skill as well as your ability to capture Zue's personality.
