Justin woke up and got to his feet, looking around the area for anything unusual. He saw Elizabeth, and he found that the fire was out, but nothing odd.

Elizabeth had fallen in to a light sleep. She sighed softly, her head still leaning on her knees.

Justin smiled at Elizabeth. I'd best let her sleep. she was up looking out for me, so I should return the favor. he thought.

Elizabeth gave a soft sigh in her sleep, mumbling Justin's name as she lay back on the floor.

Justin smiled at Elizabeth. at that moment, he finally knew the words he wanted to tell her before. the words that escaped his mind every time. "I love you....." he whispered softly.

Elizabeth smiled some in her sleep. She curled in a light ball, giving a contented sigh.

Justin knelt down beside Elizabeth, then planted a small kiss on her cheek. he then sat beside her and sighed contentedly.

Elizabeth smile some at the kiss. She turned over and nuzzled in to Justin's side.

Elizabeth relaxed at Justin's warmth, the soft smile still on her lips.

Justin smiled at Elizabeth, making a silent vow to her and himself. He silently promised to protect his newfound love, no matter what the cost.

"Elizabeth?" A soft voice said from the mouth of the cave. Elizabeth awoke the voice, her eyes slowly opening. She sat up, rubbing tiredly at her eyes, "Alex?" She said, looking up as her friend stopped next to them. he looked cautiously down at Justin, moving around him until he stood next to Elizabeth and crouched behind her, "Elizabeth, are you alright? I heard about what happened with James." he said softly.

Justin looked at Alex, slightly cautious. He wasn't sure if he would be as tolerant as Elizabeth.

Elizabeth looked up at her friend, "I'm fine, but I need to get Justin out of here and back to his clan." She said, then saw her friend's surprised expression, "What?" Alex blinked, then his eyes narrowed some, "Alright, what did the dragon do to you? You've never been like this!" He said, moving Elizabeth away from Justin and looking over her wounds. Elizabeth crossed her arms over her chest, letting Alex look her over before she said, "He didn't do anything to me Alex." She turned, bending his head so she could whisper in his ear, "Look, I think I love Justin and I can't let him get hurt." She whispered. Alex listened, then pursed his lips. He sighed some, "Alright, I'll help how I can." Elizabeth hugged him and he smiled, then glared at Justin, his expression telling him he'd better take good care of Elizabet or he'd be after him. Elizabeth was like a little sister to Alex.
