Ra blushed at her reaction and smiled, he was pleased that she liked the suprise and hoped she would be just as happy when she tasted it.
"Yup...All from the Kusani family recipe book, but keep it quiet. I don't cook for just anybody." He grinned, which wasn't far from the truth, it was more of a private hobby. Something he didn't like to share often. "Well, sit down." He laughed kneeling on the carpet as he watched her stood there taking in all the colours and scents. "Or I'll eat it all."

His words, not just anybody lingered in her head, like a tonic, they made her slightly dizzy. Grinning, she knelt down beside Ra, but instead of leaning forward to look more closely at the food, she looked over at Ra, and leaned in to give him a big hug, making sure not to hit any of the food.
As she pulled back from the hug, she lingered a few seconds in front of him, looking into his eyes. A part of her wanted to kiss him, but her nerves spread panic throughout her body and she settled for a kiss on the cheek, and a furious blush. "It's really lovely." she spoke softly, then spread a cheeky grin across her face. "But there's NO WAY I'd let you eat it all...I doubt you could anyway." she joked, then moved over grabbing a plate, handing one to Ra and gazing once again at the food.
"Where should I start? You need to explain all these wonderful dishes to me

Ra hadn't expected the hug, he welcomed it he closeness making him forget some of his nerves. As her eyes lingered on his the nerves returned again. Was she going to kiss him? Was he supposed to kiss her? Her move to kiss him on the cheek, so sweet and simple caused him to go red again and turn his attention to the food.
"This one." He said pointing to something that looked like soup. "is Aash Aaab Leemoo. Like a meaty, herby rice soup. The colourful one is Shirin Polow. Rice, Chicken, nuts and saffron. It's quite sweet. Then there's salad and desert, Sohaaan Asali which is a caramelised, almond, pistachio and saffron crunchy thing." As he went through the names he took a serving spoon and placed a piece of each dish on her plate. "The drink is Doogh. Like a lassi, only it's carbonated a bit."
Serving himself he sat back on a cushion and crossed his legs. "Let's start." He said eager to see her reaction when she tasted it.

Chii paid very close attention to Ra as he went over the various dishes, taking the occasional moment to glance at him. He'd turned red from her kiss, which had in turn turned her even redder; if that was possible. food...just think about the food... she told herself.
Everything looked so good, but she was really the most eager to try the Shirin Polow. It looked so beautiful, and from his descritpion would probably taste just as wonderful. Lifting up her fork she slipped it under a portion of the food and lifted it to her mouth, trying not to get too flustered as Ra watched.
It was delicious. She quickly moved onto the next dish. It was fantastic too! Blushing she covered her mouth and spoke. "It's amazing Ra. I can't believe you made all of this. Wow" She smiled, and was about to eat some more when she noticed he still wasn't eating. "Don't you forget to eat....or I WILL eat it all." She joked, and ate some more.

Managing to overcome his nerves, Ra's manner returned to normal. Sometimes he hated the way he got so nervous around Chii, it always made him prone to saying stupid things. He watched her expression change as she tasted each dish. The self concious way she ate aware of his waiting for a reaction was cute, attractive even.
"Thanks." He said feigning nonchalence at her enjoyment of the food. Secretly he was proud of his skill, her compliments were an ego boost.
Resting his plate on his knee he started to eat.
"So, what do you think of the room of doom?" He said with an ironic smile gesturing to his side with his fork.

She smiled, lightly, as she set her plate on the floor. He was trying to hide it, but she could tell he was pleased, with himself, with the meal, but not in a conceited way, no; in a confident way, that perhaps bordered a little on arrogance. A way that, as much as she didn't want to admit it, was rather sexy. Her mom had been right, confidence really was sexy.
Her face suddenly flushed as she realized what she was thinking...was she seriously thinking about Ra as sexy? Yes, she was, and why not. A new feeling stirred within her, butterflies unlike any other twisted and turned inside of her. The more she looked at him, the more the butterflies twisted. He really was sexy, his hair placed gently behind his ear, the way his shirt strained as it was being stretched over his bisceps...all of his muscles....Before she could finish that thought she'd taken a large sip of her drink, and coudln't help but let out a sigh of relief when Ra asked her about his room.
Swallowing, she smiled. "I'd say it doesn't look anything like I'd imagined. You've been telling me all these horror stores about how messy it is, but now it looks lovely. I hope you didn't go to all this trouble just for me." What she did find odd was that the room was so small. How could two rooms in the same dorm be so different. It made her feel rather embarrassed about her room. "It's very cozy. You and Scarlett must have worked out some agreement, so that you aren't constantly stepping on each other's toes." Right then, without explanation a pang of envy rushed through her body..

Ra noted her blush and smiled wondering why she was looking at him strangely. Suddenly it felt too warm in the room, boiling even. Putting his plate on the floor he jumped up and stepped onto his bed to open the window a bit.
As she mentioned his room he was glad he had moved so she wouldn't see his own guilty blush. It had taken him the best part of the day to get it tidy. Most of the usual mess was crammed into the bottom of his wardrobe and stuffed into desk drawers.
"I cleaned up a bit." He shrugged sitting back down on the floor and welcoming the cool breeze that now drifted through the room. "It's wierd sharing with a girl. I'm still not sure I like it." He said giving her a half smile. "We had a bit of an argument the other day, nothing too major though." He continued pausing to pick up Chii's empty glass. "Do you want something more to drink? I have more in the fridge."

"Ah, yes. I'd love some more. Thank you." She nodded, then continued as he refilled the drink. "You guys got in an argument? What about?" Inwardly she cringed as the words passed over her lips. She didn't mean to pry, but the thought of a lover's spat had just crossed her mind, not that she thought Ra liked Scarlett but aaaaaaah, she couldn't help it. Un-clenching her eyes, she reached for her plate and scooped some more food onto it.
Eating silently she was happy to have the breeze to cool her down. you're getting way too worked up, what's wrong with you?...But if she was going to be honest with herself, she knew exactly what was wrong..It was valentines day, and Ra had made a beautiful dinner for her, and what did she have for him? Nothing. She didn't think he'd want anything, plus she'd gotten so overwhelmed by school she'd actually forgotten all about it. Letting out a heavy sigh, she waited for him to return. Ugh...she was so mad at herself.

As Ra refilled the drinks he wished he hadn't brought up the argument. It was not high on his list of things to talk about during a valentines dinner. He was still confused by the randomness of the argument, but it was talk best saved for another time. Picking the glassed up off the counter he walked back into his side of the room, Catching her sigh as he returned.
"Nothing worth anything." He smiled, placing the glass down in front of her and sitting closer than before. "Are you all right?" He asked with light hearted concern as he noticed the slight change in her manner. Her green eyes expressing her discomfort.

Judging from his response it wasn't something he wanted to talk about. Which was fine, but it certainly did leave an unsettling feeling in her stomach.
As he returned with her drink she tried to put on a smile, but he'd already heard her sigh. Best to be out with it early, than hold it in and let it fester, she thought.
"Oh, yeah...well, you know how it is..." she started, not really making much sense. He'd sat down now, and much closer this time. She could feel the heat radiating off of him, like one of those blankets dad was so obsessed with. Gazing from the glass slowly up to his torso, and then his face, she knew she'd have to 'face the music' sometime. Her eyes rested upon lips. By this time her brow had begun to knit itself together, and after swallowing hard, she lifted her eyes to his, and her resolve melted away.
"Oh, Ra. I feel so awful. You've gone and prepared this whole fantastic meal, cleaned your room, dressed up, all of this just for me, and I...." she choked back her fear, and tears. "..and I didn't do anything..." There. It was finally out. "I completely forgot it was Valentines Day, and really, when I had thought about it I didn't think you'd be interested in it...I figured you'd probably consider it a stupid materialistic holiday." She she sputtering now, sobs blotting out every other word. "I'm so sorry. Please don't be mad at me." She cried, her hands holding tightly onto his.

Initially Ra was shocked by her outburst. After all that they had been through in the past couple of weeks she was upset because she didn't give him anything for valentines day. A grin spread across his face. A grin that quickly became a laugh. He shook his head and pulled her into a hug.
"You're crazy, you know that right." He said with a smirk planting a kiss on her forehead. "I didn't do this to get something in return. I decided we hadn't had a chance to just relax and chat, no drama, no sleepwalking or other people." He toned his grin down to a smile, looking into her eyes. As usual she was right about him, he did consider it a stupid materialistic holiday, but that was beside the point. "Valentines day just seemed to fit for the gesture."
He placed his hand against the smooth skin of her cheek and without thinking about what he was about to do he kissed her softly on the lips. It was something he had wanted to do as soon as he had opened the door but held back. It hadn't seemed right then as it did now. Not to mention it was the only way he could think of to defuse her rambling. ninja
