..Judith was coming off less and less as a 'mean' mommy and more like someone who was batshit insane. Kade rarely used curses since, well, they weren't cute or charming! No one ever giggled when he screamed '********' at stubbing his toe, but replace that with a few 'owie's and 'shoot's and he had a smile! Plus, his daddy hated it when he cursed, so he learned not to at a fairly young age. The nuns helped. Anyway, the fact that he was using a curse word, even just in his mind, to describe someone meant he was being totally and completely serious. Judith was INSANE! She kept a poster of Hitler in her room?! And sent someone to some kind of bay..? Well, that didn't sound so bad, but the eating someone's own dog did! He couldn't imagine that pain – if he.. if he had to eat Speckle! He sniffed at just the thought of it!

“Oh, my god! This is horrible!” How was he supposed to ask for Kim's hand in marriage if Judith was insane?! She'd probably say 'no' because his hair was blue and not magenta! ..Maybe he should try dying his hair magenta before meeting her. ..Oh. Oh, god. Meeting her! She was in town! “Do I have to meet her? Of course I do! Um, um, etiquette – I need a gift! What does she like?! Flowers?! I can get her flowers! Teddy bears?! Dolls? Perfumes? Explosives?! I can try! I-I can't get her sweets anymore since the bakery shut down, but I can get her.. um.. a kitten! Does she like kittens?! No, no, wait,” He couldn't do that to a kitten! “H-how about.. um.. Candles? Books? Gel pens? Sparkles?! Help me, Kim, I don't know what I'm supposed to get!!” He whined and reached across the table, only to drop his head down and sit there pathetically. He was at a loss – what was he to do?! He was going to have to never, ever marry Kim because his mother didn't like him! Unless Kim loved him enough to marry him no matter what his parents said! Which would be romantic, but nothing that romantic ever happened to stupid whores.. So, Kade was basically doomed to be an eternal boyfriend.

The blacksmith examined his boyfriend for a second. Would he had to meet Judith? Probbaly. It was inevitable. It was, unfortunately, clear that the woman would hate the hairdresser. Could Kade do something to be somewhat liked? "Uhm... No, no. She'll hate you even more if you give her any of this... uhm,,, Some fine wine.... But nothing that costs under 300$... And... Uhm... Dye your hair back to their natural colour... be less happy.... wear a business suit.. yeah, that should do it..." Not that she would approve anymore, but at least she would wait a week or two before killing him. Yoakim would have time to make her change her mind by then. The best solution would probbaly be to just never met Kade but... that was just dreaming, wasn't it?

Kade slowly looked up from the table at Kim, staring at him intently with each new suggestion. That was how he earned Kim's mother's love? He had to go back to being brunette, be less happy, and wear a business suit?! He could get the suit and some wine, he guessed, with the rest of the money that O'Malley sent him. He would rather save it for something else, but.. this was for love! He had to do it! He nodded vigorously and sat up, “Okay! Okay, okay, I get it, I'll be a whole different Kade for your mother, Kim! I'll be sad a-and I'll have not as pretty hair and everything! Just tell me where and when for me to meet her! Oh, should I.. Should I just be always prepared? She's in town now! Oh my god, what if she comes in for a haircut?! I have to do this ASAP, sweetie! Like, as soon as I can! Now!” He started to stand up before realizing that Conor and Keith still needed their hair to get done and he had food to eat. Well.. He sat back down. After food and hair styling.

Holly wasn't just paying attention to the couple, but she was actually standing a few feet away from them writing this all down on her notebook. Yoakim comes from a family of neo-nazi's?! She said to them, they might think it's completely weird that an employee here just stepped into their conversation, but ******** manners! "No offense Kade, but this island is run by Gaston, a complete idiot. Chances are Judith won't have a hard time changing the laws around to have you murdered if you do something wrong." She said with a pleased nod, then looked at Yoakim, dreamily, "Do you have an older brother by chance~?"

Yoakim was about to tell Kade to not even bother trying or anything like that it was just better for everyone if they didn't meet. If luck would have it that the two of them would end up with each other, he doubt that his Mother would know that Kade was his boyfriend... well, even if he wasn't it was probably for the best if they didn't meet ever, anyway. However, just as he was about to say that, a girl came in and said it all before the blacksmith had time! Well, worked for him. He didn't like to talk all that much and having her saying exactly what he was about to say saved him some trouble. Whoever she was... Probably just a friend of Kade. He had a bit too many. She's right, you know. Would be better for everyone if you two didn't meet." Judith changing the laws in order to murder Kade? Possible. Very, very, possible. Wouldn't be the first time she did something like that, anyway. "Uh, no sorry. Oldest boy in my familly.... go a younger brother but... uh... doubt you two would go well together" doubting was putting it lightly.

Murder him?! Well, there went almost all of his hope. The last remainder of it was hiding out in case Kim and Holly decided to ruin it as well. He was hopeful by nature, he couldn't be dragged down by a pair of very serious people! Impossible! So, he sat up and forced a smile – oh, he would meet with Judith. He had to if he wanted to marry Kim someday! It was.. it was important! He needed the woman's approval and.. and.. Oh, God, he was going to die for love, wasn't he? He always knew he would! Jacob had told him every time relationships came up, at least. Though, really, his little brother had just meant that he would probably end up committing suicide after being broken up with by a man who ended up finding out he was straight because of his relationship with Kade. Oh, his brother was so silly sometimes! Reminiscing on childhood memories had him perky again, no force needed to make him happy now!

He looked at Holly and, changing the subject, said, “Hey, girl! I didn't know you were working today! How are you? I haven't seen you since that nasty jail thing – oh, Kim, did I tell you? I got arrested with your grandmother awhile back and that's how I met Holly who I thought was the usual, um, no offense, slutty kind of girl, but she's actually really nice and sweet! I mean, aside from that whole raping thing, but that was probably just a joke!” Really, he should have explained that one better, but he didn't think much of it aside from the pamphlets that he spent six hours crying over inside a pile of plush dolls.

Yoakim looked at Holy, then at Kade and then back at Holy. He wasn't sure anymore which one of the two was kidding or not! Maybe both, maybe none! Could that girl really have a p***s? She seemed too feminin to have a d**k... but then again, Kade had those weird friends into drag and everything, and one more wouldn't really be surprising. Oh.. GOD. Why, Holly?! Kade knew she was.. odd with her jokes, but.. couldn't she see that he was on a date with his boyfriend?! Why tell him that she raped him and.. "Well... I am sort of hungry..." Started the blacksmith. He hadn't eated in the last seven hours or so. First, he had gotten the class from April, then he had rushed to the salon, and then the haircut with Keith and everything.... he wasn't used to not eat at least every hours or so! He was a growing man! Well, he wasn't really growing anymore, but he denied it. Fortunatly for him, some random NPC Waitress that coincidently would get fired at the end of the day for stealing food, came to serve them. "Oh, good good... We'll take this." Said Yoakim while pointing at a page of the menus. It took the waitress a good 5minutes of talking with them before she understood that he meant the whole page! She looked at them weirdly before leaving for the kitchen, wondering if she was being played. ]"Seriously, why is it that every time we go to a restaurant, people give us those weird looks? I would have belived that people theses days would be more open toward same sex couple." No, it had never occurred to the blacksmith that people looked at them that way because of the huge amount of food he would consume, and then ask for a dessert. "Ah... yes... We haven't been doing a lot, lately.. I'm sorry... It's my fault, I suppose. I don't really take care of you... I should know better... but.. you know. It's still hard for me to know what to do and what not... seriously, you're the first steady relation I have... Of course Kim was hungry! When was he ever not hungry?! ..To be honest, Kade should probably look into eating disorders when it came to Yoakim's diet. Sure, he looked healthy and all, but he could never be sure just how healthy it was to consume three times your own body weight in one sitting. Maybe an exaggeration? Oh, no, whoever thought Kade would be exaggerating there had never eaten with Kim. He was still fretting over how he was going to manage to cook as much as Gladice when Kim and him got married and lived out by the sea in a cute little cottage~! He waited for Kim to finish with the waitress, adding in his own meager meal as the woman left. ..Well, he learned by now that Kim did actually eat everything he ordered – if he didn't get something for himself, he wouldn't get anything at all! “Mmhm..” He replied knowingly with a small roll of the eyes, giggling. Yes, Kim still seemed to believe that. It made Kade wonder how often he ate out.. Then again, with Kim, it would probably add up real quick.. Kade frowned at Kim when he replied – not take care of him..? Kade was just fine! Sure, he would love to spend more time with Kim and do more things together, but he was happy with what he got. “Oh, no, please don't take that the wrong way, Kim! I didn't mean that you're doing something bad or anything, I understand why we haven't and.. stuff, I just was saying I'm happy that you have the time now.” And that he even wanted to be around Kade. He was starting to doubt if he was worth putting up with lately, after all.

The drinks came during Kade's pause, putting his attention onto taking a sip of the pink lemonade for the moment. “Your doing good for steady relationships, trust me~!” That was that! Now, to talk about something else! “Oh, um, by the way – this is so cool – you remember O'Malley? My TV buddy? You know he went all poof on me? He sent me a letter! With a check! He's got a son and he won a lawsuit because of a faulty ship or something, but he said that he wanted to thank me for.. being a friend, I think. I read the letter awhile ago, but it's still cool! I don't know what to spend the money on.. So, I'm saving it for now.” He could use it for the masquerade later.. But that would still leave him with a nice amount. “I was thinking on using it to visit my family, it's been awhile since I've seen mommy and daddy, oh, and Jacob! You should come, too, we can have Christmas together! I don't think you've met my family before! It would be nice to have dinner with them and introduce you, mommy's only heard about you so far.” Yep, it was decided! This winter, they were going to go meet his parents and have a fun time!

Of coursed he remembered O'MalleyHow could he not remember the guy with who both of them had a threesome with? Not that it had really pleased Yoakim to do it, but Kade had been asking for it for as long as he could remember. He had decided to give in for once, simply because his boyfriend was having a bad time lately, but that still left him with a bad taste in the back of his throat... and crabs on his crotch. He was sure that he had gotten that from the Irishman. Where else could have have gotten those? Thankfully, he had been able to buy quick treatment and get rid of them. Well, it was nice that he had sent money to Kade, he thought. Kade wasn't making all that much with the salon. Sure, it was enough to live and to pay the bills, but that was basically it. Going to see Kade's parents? That was... something he would need to think about... "I don't really want to Kade... you know how I do with meeting other people and... I mean... Going over there? I would be way out of my comfortzone... If you really want us to meet, couldn't you.. I dunno? Get them here instead?" Not that he wanted to be rude or force Kade to chose between him and his family, but he was telling the truth. He sucked in social situation and having to spend a week or so at Kade's parent's was just... well, unappealing for him if they were normal, and horrifying if they were anything like Kade! The blacksmith could deal with one or two of Kade's, but five? There was no way he could ever survive that!

Oh.. So, he guessed that meant trip over to Los Angeles was out. He had been looking forward to showing Kim off to all his old friends and stuff.. Christmas would have been fun to do as a family too. He missed out on going over the last few years and he hadn't seen his parents in awhile, just called them on the phone. He didn't know how he could get his mother and father over to the island, they didn't like to travel very much and they did have work.. His sister was hard to get in contact with, let alone ask her to take a trip over here and his brother.. he wouldn't come without Theresa to get him. All those facts felt disheartening, but Kade had a card up his sleeve – optimism!

“It's okay, I can try to get them over here. I mean, I could pay for the boat ticket and everything, even if daddy hates the ocean, he might come if mommy tries to get him over here! Then they could meet your mom and we could all celebrate Christmas together. ..Your family does celebrate Christmas, right? Um, not that I have anything against Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or, um, Stocking day, but daddy is kind of.. well, he'd be disappointed to come here and not be able to do the holidays the way he does them.” Oh, isn't that something they haven't talked on yet? “How does your family celebrate the holidays?” Kim never talked about his family much – well, family stories. Kade knew how many siblings he had and stuff like that.

Kade's family? Celebrating Christmass with Judith? That could only end up in a bloodbath. Literally. Judith would kill them all and fill a bathtub of their blood and bath in it while having a band or violinist playing Bach's First Movement of his Double Violin Concerto in D Minor in the background, Yes, that would be exactly what Judith would do. "You know Kade... you REALLY don't have to meet my mother and present her to your family... really... If you are bend on having some family time, Gran will be more than enough for all that." Gladice had been more present than his mother or his father had ever be. In fact, she was like that to any family member. Meeting Gladice was usually enough, she was the matriach of his family, and the only one able to tame Judith even though the two of them weren't even related. "Uhm... that depends... My father thinks that holidays are a wast of time and money and that it should be spent perfecting ourselves rather than taking part to fooleries. My mother, on the other hand, think that Christmas is okay and should be celebrated over the top to proves to the peasants how pathetic their lives are compared to us, and it's a great way to encourage butchers to continue doing a great jobs... Gran, being from here celebrates stocking day."

Not meet his family? Oh, silly Kim! As if he didn't have to do that! How else would Kade every ask for Kim's hand in marriage if he didn't have Judith's approval? He had already blocked out what Holly and Kim had said earlier about only Kade meeting the woman, it was little effort to do so when it came to his family meeting Judith. Yes, it would happen. Someday. Now, back onto the Christmas effort. There was only one or two things that really held true in Kade's mind when Kim informed him that his Christmas's were either a way to show off or just didn't happen at all. It almost made him cry to think on poor little Kim, waiting up for a Santa that would never come..! Did he ever make a gingerbread house?! Or help decorate a tree?! Or go sing Christmas carols at his local church and laugh in the snow – well, Kade grew up mostly almost as southwest as he could get, there wasn't much snow there. Still! That didn't mean he had to exclude all the other things!

“So.. You've never had a Christmas?” If this didn't preset a cheesy Christmas special montage – or at least Kade forcing Kim to watch every Christmas classic known to man, then he didn't know what would! Before Kade could start teaching Kim the magic of Christmas by singing his favorite carol to the man, the waitress had started to return with their food. She set down five or six plates, then left to return yet again with another half dozen of plates! It would have been easier to just get a tray, but the girl was determined to get this all done the way she had started it if only because she didn't want to look like she was forgetful by going back and getting a tray. Kade's attention went to watching the food and soon an extra table be pulled up for Kim's part of the meal. This took the better part of their time and, remembering that there was a pair of teens upstairs waiting – not that Kade really cared to go back just yet – he started to eat his chicken salad.
