"Ciro Salucci? I can't believe it. That's the name of that 'Vinny?' I knew his sister... I digress. I apologize for my transgressions. It was the only time I could meet with Mr. Zeledon, what with my business meetings and Rochus breathing down my neck." Alfons sighed. "It was supposed to be a quick 'here's the info, go away' type thing, but that damn Scheißer had to stay to pester me. Had he left just five minutes earlier none of this would've occurred." He looked at Scarlet's eyes, completely unfazed by their burning nature. "I'm sorry. I truly am. But the info I gave to Zeledon--if the dummkopf has actually left yet--should be well its way to taking down a major crime syndicate."

Jamie grinned at at Cassandra's command, responding with "Don't worry. I won't. And thank you." He turned to Twi. "I thought so. So what happened to the a*****e that shot me?"

Ciro stopped in the middle of the room. His ears twitched. It was almost as if he could sense that someone had mentioned his beloved sister. He shrugged off the feeling, and continued to mingle, keeping his job in mind. Ciro's eyes frequently scanned the room for any danger.

Jamie smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I should have left earlier. There wouldn't have been a mess for you to clean. Good to know that Vinny's gone." He sighed. "I gotta leave soon. This info ain't gonna get to HQ on its own." He held up the notebook with his hand, and then promptly dropped it. "Crap."

Val promptly scooped the folder up, and began flipping through it, reading the info.

"ooh, this is juicy..." he smirked, one fang flashing.

Scarlet hugged Ciro's arm affectionately. "I'm sure you will please me very much, in all you duties," she replied with just as much innuendo in her voice. "And I wouldn't consider tonight so much a failure. You 'died' trying, after all. Anyway, enough with the brooding. Do you dance, my darling?"

Devonte was mostly-satisfied with the state of the ball. Scarlet seemed to have regained her good humor and was tormenting a new vampire playfully. Still, it seemed that Master Valthier and Lady Cassandra were missing from the party. They should have arrived before now. Curiously, he went looking for them.

Devonte heard Valtheir casually discussing something insignificant as he turned the corner. He saw him sitting close to someone else--that damned musician that had embarrassed him in front of Cassandra.

"Is there a reason you are not participating in the rest of the party?" he asked archly.

"Indeed," Devonte mused. He could smell blood, tho there seemed to be little evidence of it around. He doubted that Valthier would have fed on an un-consenting human, and frankly Cassandra was so beautiful that Devonte didn't care what she did. He shrugged. "I'm sure that Scarlet would like you to rejoin the ball as soon as you feel up to it. If there is anything I can get you, please let me know," he said as he turned to leave.

"Of course we can accommodate you," Devonte hurriedly assured her as he turned back, always delighted to do any favor for the beautiful ancient. "All the resources of the castle are at your disposal."

He glanced at Jamie, a slightly pained expression flitting over his face. Another wounded trouble maker. Perhaps he would put this one in the same room as the other. The fewer bloody bedsheets for the staff to burn, the better.

"I suppose this man can rest with another wounded guest. I already have all of the necessary medical equipment there," he explained. "If you come with me, I can show you to the guest suite, where I think you'll find something to your liking."

He held out his arm for Cassandra to take and left Valthier with the task of helping Jamie up the stairs. He first led them to the guest suits. The walls were hung with ancient tapestries depicting moonlit hunting scenes, with lycans instead of wolf hounds and magical beasts instead of boars or harts. A large canopy bed dominated one side of the room and on the other were a set of dark wood dressers with a painted screen to change behind. Devonte indicated the large, intricately carved wardrobe.

"I believe you will find some dresses to your liking in there," he said. Then he reluctantly added, "You as well, Master Valthier, might wish to at least change your doublet before rejoining the ball. It appears that you were just inside the 'splash zone' and got a few drops of blood on your clothes. I will take this unfortunate human to another suite so he can rest with proper medical attention. I will return after he has been taken care of." Although he was loath to leave Cassandra alone in this secluded suite with another charming man, Devonte always put duty before personal pleasure.

"It is quite easy," Scarlet assured Ciro as they walked onto the floor. "Just hold me close and let the music move your feet. You might find in your new position in un-life that you are more graceful than you thought."
