He moved back a bit as he soon saw the door open. Not knowing she had dawned a bathing suit, he turned away for a moment, but his eyes caught the black spandex from the corner of his eye and he turned back just as she explained and moved to retrieve a towel. He really had nothing to say further, but rather he turned his back to the door way and leaned. He would have moved off had he not know she would still need bandage work.
"Maybe when you take a shower, you should just dab a wet towel over the burns...it wouldn't feel pleasant, but probably better than running water." he explained to the wall. It was a decent idea, and she would still be able to get clean...mostly

Nodding her head as she understood what he was getting at, well, now at least. "I'll have to try that, however I just can't reach the one between my shoulder blades. I suppose getting most is a better scenario than getting none." Besides, give a few more days and the doctor would be back around for a check up and he could give her a thorough wound clean hopefully. As much as she didn't want to have to use the to be soaking tub for bathing, it seemed she would have to. There was just no way in hell she'd fit remotely in the shower tub.
Squeezing past him through the door, she placed her paw on his shoulder for a moment to make sure he didn't decide to move and push her back against the frame. "Well, better get that ointment on before it gets any more sore." She said pleasantly, still grateful that he was willing. Letting her paw fall away from his shoulder she returned to the bedroom and quickly ran the towel along her arms and legs and as much as she could her back with gentle patting.
Taking another roll of bandages as well as the ointment in paw, she held it out for him to take once he returned as well. "Did you end up taking the morphine?" Nariko inquired, facing away.

He listened to her, but drifted in an out of her words. He figured she would respond the way she did, so he somehow felt no need to listen. He did about jump 3 feet in the air though when she suddenly placed a paw on his shoulder and squeezed past him. He tried to dial down his nerves a bit as he felt the twinge and throb of his leg return as if he never took the drugs...maybe it needed more time?
All the same, he followed her back into her room at the mention of the bandages and ointment. He inwardly shuddered at the thought of having to touch her again, but it wasn't because he was repulsed...it was quite the opposite in fact.
"I did...but it doesn't seem to have any effect" he stated as he waited for her to collect the materials. Soon he took them and waited for her to turn

"That blue stuff must be stronger..." She pondered and turned her back as it seemed like he was expecting her to by the way he waited like he did. Standing still as she swept a paw back in case she missed any stray hairs, the vixen waited for him to continue when she dawned on something.
"You know, Dutch. I've come to realize that you're a pretty quiet guy when we're not arguing." Nariko stated aloud, recounting he hadn't really said too much unless she first started a conversation...or wouldn't say much at all. Of course this wasn't the case in the first few weeks she met him since all they seemed to do was yell....and then he had a lot to say.
Letting out her breath as she waited for him to start, she looked out the window to the outside world. "How long have you been a medic, anyways?"

He shrugged and immediately began to work without question or hesitation as soon as her back was turned. As last time, he squeezed a little of the ointment on his fingers and then rubbed it gently on and around her burn wounds, soon moving to the bandaging as she made he statements.
"It's how I've always been. The arguing thing is just a short fuse thanks to training..and living on Mars." he explained in response to her observation. His quietness was the only reason why he was willing to give Rookie a chance. The boy never spoke, and that was just fine by him.
As he finished the bandaging his ears flicked at the question as it did indeed bring up painful memories. "When my wife lost her leg...." he said blandly. It didn't hurt him as it did several years ago when he had lost her. But a lot of things seemed to have changed him in the past few hours...none of which he was about to complain with. "Done"

Clenching her jaw as his fingers trailed and rubbed the ointment into the wounds, it didn't hurt as bad as the water had thanks to the ointment's quick numbing effects. Glancing over her shoulder at him working away with such a focused, even if it wasn't really, expression.
"It doesn't really suit you....at least not without knowing you I suppose. Then again, i'm not sure what suits you..." Nariko once more spoke her mind, at the same time her memories were conflicting with the now. She'd fallen for the brash, rude, otherwise pig headed individual behind her.....but she was also just as comfortable with this quiet version. "Mysterious suits you well, though." Ending that statement, she knew that much for sure anyways; even through their many occasions meeting....she felt she didn't know a helluva lot more than she did first laying eyes on him.
She was about to speak up again thanks to his silence, but then she felt that stab thrust into her back once again as she visibly twitched; although it could have been seen as a wince from him working on her back. How was it she always ended up bringing her back up, immediately feeling terrible about it. Folding her ears back along her dark hair she looked back ahead, nodding slowly. "Sorry..." She muttered barely above a whisper, before clearing her throat. "Thanks, Dutch. Feels great!" Twisting her torso as if to test it out, she was relieved she didn't have to be as careful with the bandages on once again.

His brow furrowed lightly. What was she to judge of what suited him or not. All the same, he just let the vixen talk. "I'm not mysterious Nariko...just simple." he commented with some reverence to his voice. It was true..he had little to offer as of history, and further still he was pretty basic with needs. He was just another military man set to do what ever he could to defend the universe...nothing extraordinary.
As she twisted and twirled he nodded and cracked a hint of a smirk. How he wished he could do that. He tried so damn hard not to look her over and feel that shudder return...he wished he had the courage to dive right in like he always did...but something was holding him back from telling her what he was thinking and feeling...just..something

Bursting in a quite laughter as she stifled her mouth with her hand, she realized he would never understand how wrong that sounded; for he was far from simple in her mind. Or else she'd have him figured out by now. Yet she wasn't looking to pick an argument, so she was content to leave it just as it was. I wonder if he sees me as simple then, too.
Besides, he was indeed mysterious to her; since he all but vanished off the face of the earth for nearly two months. Wait. A horrible realization dawned on the vixen as she began to wonder what was going to happen once he healed. Surely with a lack of answer he would be off again, and she would be left with nothing but herself and a torn heart once again. Dammit....its happening all over again. She thought bitterly as her paw tightened around her lips. It Dutch didn't have an answer, and wasn't sure he ever would.....she'd never see him again.
Its his choice though....I wouldn't want to try and force him otherwise.... No matter, the outcome wouldn't be desireable for her anyways. Closing her eyes for a moment, she whirled around with a serious expression, pain lingering if noticed. "Then promise me one thing, Dutch. Don't leave unless you tell me first....I don't want to wake up after your healed just to realize you left in the night..." It may have sounded random and obsurd, but she had to get it out there.
Besides, forever was a long time to be angry at someone.

His gaze snapped up to her at her sudden burst of laughter. He didn't have to say anything to get his message across. What's so funny now? he thought as he squinted his eyes with suspicion, but he soon dropped it as she had moved on.
Out of no where she changed her moods again and seemed almost as quiet as he did. That moment of thought, it was always terribly dangerous to him. He looked to his armor wondering if all the sudden he;d be thrown out of the house for something unreasonable, but what she said took him by surprise.
His gaze shot back to her in questioning as at first he tried to figure out where the comment came from. It took him several long minutes to recall a conversation from the day before. One that he almost forgot for..obvious reasons. She was still waiting for an answer? She must not have been as observant as she claimed. He shut up because of her, he couldn't look at her because of something that rose in him, he did the nice things he wouldn't normally do because of it too.
He stared at he long and hard. How had she not figured it out by now. How clear did he have to make it? He sighed, and despite the injured leg, he moved forward, and just as before snuck in a quick kiss to her lips. "Is THAT clear enough for you now?"

Raising a brow as her serious determination turned to a confusion; it was really throwing her off the expressions which changed on his face as he remained silent. Oh great, now what was going on? She was sure if he ran now that she'd be able to take him down easily and show him what's what, but it didn't seem like it was going to happen since he hadn't yet moved or looked away.
In fact she felt like she was getting the retarded rookie stare down.
She was about to pipe up under the stare when he suddenly moved as her body stiffened, expecting nearly anything than what really happened. Immediately her heart jumped into her throat as her eyes widened again, heat once again returning to her face. "Wh...." Nariko's voice cracked, looking to Dutch who seemed to be talking as if she knew...something. Something he obviously thought she should have anyways, as she tried to put the pieces to the puzzle together. "Clear....what's clea-.....oh. OH."
Oh my god.
Was that really what she thought it meant? It seemed so....impossible from his words just yesterday, and of course back on the ridge. Yet.....was she really right?
"R-r-really?" Not waiting for him to answer, she flung her arms around his neck making sure not to lean on him to make the poor guy lose his balance. She didn't want to let go.....maybe it was just some cruel a** dream for all she knew.

Taken a back that she seemed to accept it well, he didn't really get much of a chance to brace himself for Nariko suddenly wrapping her arms around him. Although she was careful to watch his balance, he felt that leg just give way with the added force, and with the momentum of her hugging, he soon fell backwards, fortunate to mostly land on his bed, but still hitting the floor rather hard..
"Ow...." he uttered as he laid there for a moment, paralyzed by the pain that just randomly decided to take over his body.
Before she could say anything at all he held up a paw. "Don't....be sorry...Last thing I need is grief and sympathy." he grumbled. It did ruin the moment for him, but there was some vague relief now that his feelings were off his chest

Completely unprepared for his leg to give way and her own balance compromised, Nariko all but fell on top of the big fellow as she'd moved her arms quickly to avoid breaking her wrists under his shoulders and caught herself slightly on the ground. Lingering above him a few moments on her paws and knees, her eyes watched his paws before she gave a shake of her head and grinned.
"What do you take me for, a doting ninny? You're obviously a big boy and can handle yourself....even if I do worry time to time." Not that it could be helped with how few people she did have to worry about. Which dwindled down to three, including him.
"I'm only sorry I didn't think of this before..." Grinning, she tossed her hair back behind her and leaned down to steal 'back' that quick kiss, hoping though it might distract him for a moment or two from his leg.

That degrading comment. It always stabbed him and hurt him more than his leg was now. His brow furrowed and he let out a small sneer. His grouchiness could easily be contributed the the sudden uprising of pain, though he tried hard to keep any lashing comments to himself.
Even as she stole back her kiss, he tried to give back, but if her plans of distraction were set on that one little gesture, then it wasn't working. Something else wasn't right though. Through the nerve splitting pain he could feel a wetness. While kissing he trailed a hand down the side of his leg, pulling it back to look at it behind her head, he saw the curious blue substance again. Figuring it was merely a discharge, he thought nothing of it

Despite failed intentions, it didn't take as long as she priorly to realize something was up. Hearing the movement of his arm gave her all she needed to confirm, although tipped off greatly by that kiss. Needless to say, despite being so new it lacked anything luster the prior ones had even in their short lived state. Pulling back she immediately looked to his arm and then turned her head to notice the blue on his paw.
"What the heck..." Nariko breathed as she rolled to sit beside him, careful not to hit his leg as she did so.
Looking down to his pants she could see the blue staining a dark spot along his trouser leg, she didn't think a fall like that could have done that much damage. "Did the stitching bust...?"

Frowning as she caught on, he was tempted to pull her back to him, but he didn't see that blowing over well since she was already looking at the staining pants.
"I don't know..I thought maybe it is discharge..but.." he stopped and shrugged. He wanted to look, but that would involve getting his pants off. As eager as he was to do that for either situation, he was still in an uncomfortable situation with the vixen, and somehow knew she probably didn't want to see that either.
He reached back and pulled a blanket from his bed, putting it over his legs and waist. He figured this would make a good solution for the time being. Carefully he undid the button and pulled the pants back down..with a great degree of difficulty, and turned on his opposite hip to see his leg...and the look that came over his face...pure..utter shock
"I....it....it's....healed....." he stuttered
