ZonkotheSane Kiashana ZonkotheSane IRL Stuff ("My name is John (most poeple call me Yoni, its my hebrew name and the name i grew up with), age 15, and I'm from Monsey, NY") Gaia Info ("blue") Occupation ("Student, part time restaurant worker") Hobbies/Interests ("Puzzles, games, pretty much anything that makes you think so much you get a headache....rollerblading, running, rock climing, hiking, camping, scuba diving (I'm a little out doorsy mrgreen )...dreaming..reading..and finnally, gaia) Misc. ("i dont know half of you half as well as i should like, and i like less than half of you half as well as you deserve") ...Okay, somehow the RL name just doesn't click with me. I dunno why. It's strange. I always find some people's RL names so much less fitting than their screen names. I know that quote from somewhere! I just can't come up with where it's from. Google! which one, the hebrew or english? the quote is from the lord of the rings. Bilbo says it at his 111 birthday party. poeples screennames tend to fit better because they coose it themselves, as opposed to their parents choosing it for them. The english... Probably because I don't picture Mr. Orthodox Yeshiva Boy to be named John. And yea, I looked up the quote after I posted that. I knew that I knew it from somewhere!

ZonkotheSane believe me, id rather not be in yeshiva. xp im only there because my parents want it. said something about not being accepted in the frum community, not getting a good shidduch, blah, blah, blah. anyway i told you i was in public school until recently. im not so sure id rather be in public school but there are a lot of aspects of yeshivah mentality that bother me (i should start a thread on that). im more comfortable with modern orthadox schools. Really? Wow, that kinda sucks. So glad that my dad decided to let me go to public school. If he had his way, I'd be catching a bus at like 6 am to go to the nearest JDS. Which is on the other side of the Potomac River, like 40 minutes away without traffic. I'd have to be up at like 5 and not get home til 5, later if I was doing after school stuff.

Well, if it helps, I have the ultimate Jewish girl name. Rachel. Do you know how many other Jewish girls named Rachel I know? Seriously, there's too many of us. At sleepaway camp I don't get a first name because there are just too many other Rachels. But yea. John=so not Jewish. I know one Jewish Jon, but he writes it that way, without the 'h', and he's also, like, Argentinean or something? I think Argentinean. Hispanic of some sort and Jewish, so probably Argentinean. I don't know what that has to do with it though.

But almost all the guys and about a third of the girls have some sort of nick name. Whether it's used all the time or just sometimes depends. I mean, there's no way anyone would ever use Sapp's first name. He's just not an Andrew.
