Humming lightly to herself, the two guards finished up and headed out to their posts, the kettle soon whistling. She heard his heavy footsteps, startling a little since she hadn't expected them. Thankfully she didn't spill any hot water on herself, pouring the water into the cups. Placing it back on the stove, she turned it off, placing the tea bags into the liquid.

Now she spun on her heel slowly to face him, leaning back against the counter. "So how do you like your tea? Hope you don't mind black currant." She asked him, waiting for the tea to steep at this point.

Gabriel moved further into the kitchen, his head bent slightly downward, his eyes still intent, looking at Nico. "Plain is fine with me," he said, wincing towards himself at such an absurd-sounding answer. He didn't know much about teas. "Well, any way you prepare it is fine with me. I don't really know much about teas."

He made his way towards the table, only a few feet away from the stove. "Oh, hey Jane!" he said quickly, noticing Jane standing at the stove next to the stove and giving him a nod. He slowly sat in the chair. He was nervous out of his mind, but attempted to make himself look as relaxed as possible. "Yeah, I really have only had green tea," he continued, looking down at the table. "That's the only thing they really served us at the dojo."

She almost felt a bit embarrassed at how he kept looking at her, turning back to the tea to hide her expression. Laughing a little, she nodded once, "Alright. I'll prepare it like mine." She answered, using a spoon to squeeze any excess liquid from the tea bags as she pulled them out. Afterwards she added one sugar each, stirring as she inwardly calmed herself down. She should really get ahold of herself. It wasn't a good plan to allow her emotions to be all over the place like they were.

Honestly, she had been so absorbed in her thoughts she hadn't noticed it was Jane that was there until Gabriel said something. "Oh, hey Jane." She heard Gabriel take a seat near her, tapping the spoon lightly upon the edge of one of the cups. She placed that in the sink, then picking up the two cups. She handed him his, sitting down across from him. "It's alright not to have had lots of teas. I'm rather picky with what I like so it's sort of the same thing in a way. Your file said you trained at a dojo. How was it?" She asked, tilting her head a bit.

Gabriel relaxed a bit as the conversation continued. He slouched a bit in his chair, put his arms on the table and rested his head on them, away from Nico and Jane, contemplating the old days at the dojo. "It was difficult," he began, giving thought to how he described it. "but it was definitely worth it. Northern Shaolin is a difficult martial art to master, but I suppose you can get really good at anything if you start at a young enough age." He turned his head back towards them. "I actually learned it as a hobby to relax and take my mind off of working so hard. I guess it sort of worked and sort of didn't."

Nico noticed the motion he made, merely sipping her tea as she listened to him. It was expected. Learning any sort of fighting style or weapon took time, practice, and discipline. Raising an eyebrow, to hear it had become a hobby made her smile faintly, the reasons lost to both of them. "Most things are easier to learn as a child if started early enough. Learning multiple languages, training the body, those sort of things." She concurred, having to brush her bangs from her eyes per normal. "Certainly a healthy hobby to have."

Gabriel watched Nico with a soft expression as she spoke. He took a long sip of tea; it tasted fantastic. With her soothing voice and the warm drink running down his throat, he felt more and more at ease. "Yeah," he replied. "How did you get into your art?" He asked, nodding at the rapier on her side. "Healthy hobby for you too? Or something else you picked up after... you know.." His voice faded away. He wasn't sure if he should rehash on their private conversation.

Blinking, Nico glanced down to her rapier, a faint smirk rising to her lips. Though, as he implied the second option for when it could have happened, she maintained it even if she really wanted to frown. "My parents decided that I should learn fencing. I ended up competing while I was in school. I was captain of the team." She answered, chuckling lightly before she sipped her tea. "So no, not really a hobby by choice. Still, could have been worse, I didn't really mind." Shrugging lightly, she lowered her eyes to her tea, almost debating if she'd want to refill her cup but ended up deciding against it.

Gabriel picked up his head, his eyebrows rising a bit on his forehead. "Captain? Really?" he said with a grin. "That's impressive!" He took another long, contemplative sip of tea. Soothing, bitter but extremely flavorful. I'll have to ask her how she prepares the tea, he thought. It's delicious!

"Yeah, I definitely it could've," he replied, nodding in confirmation. "I don't think I have to tell you that you're fantastic at it! I mean, your fight earlier was phenomenal! You looked terrific! He said all of this, smiling warmly at Nico, watching her intently. "Uh, both of you were!" he quickly added, looking over at Jane, a bit embarrassed that he forgot he was in the room. His face felt hot as he quickly shifted his gaze into the enigmas of his tea cup, flustered.

Nico blushed a little, lowering her gaze to her tea as she took a rather long sip. "Thank you." She murmured softly, his compliments only causing her blush to darken little by little. Thankfully it was a distraction when he also referred to Jane, finishing off her tea. She couldn't help but giggle at his reaction, patting his shoulder as she rose up to clean off her cup. "You flatter me. I am certainly not the best, but then again I didn't practice for a while there." She smiled slightly, tipping her hat to Jane inadvertently.

Stretching, she left the dishes on a rack to dry, ruffling Gabriel's hair to lighten him up. "I could tell you have trained well and hard from what I did see of the fight before I was pulled aside. Perhaps we should spar sometime. Not now obviously." She smirked, her hand falling back to her side, flexing and testing the bandaged one.

Jane nodded, not wanting to interrupt the conversation. When his fencing was complimented, however, he spoke up. "Thank you." He honestly didn't know how he learned to fence, it hadn't come to him. It made sense that they were only noticing him occasionally, he tended to be slightly invisible.

Gabriel winced but smiled as Nico ruffled his hair. It was the first time anyone had done this to him. He opened one eye and watched as Nico stretched, then looking away quickly again, afraid he would be noticed. Hearing Jane in the background, he looked over again towards the stove. "You're welcome!" he replied with a grin. He leaned his head over his teacup, letting the herbal aroma fill his nostrils. The steam felt soothing on his skin.

Well wasn't this just ******** awkward. Nico sighed lightly, frowning as she clasped her hands behind her back. Jane was being quiet and cooking and Gabriel was quiet as well. And she was.... Oh she didn't know how she really felt at that point in time. "I think I'm going to go do some work in the computer labs. Catch you guys later." She spoke, giving them both a wave whether or not they saw it.

She felt... restless. She wanted to go out right now to strike some kind of revenge, but then again that was against regs. And s**t could happen if she did that. She could get captured, killed, who knows what else.... Shaking her head, she walked down the hall with her hands stuffed in her sweat pockets, sighing heavily. Memories were washing over her, and most not really welcome at this point in time.

Sighing, she ended up heading to a lower level, specifically the armory. There was a shooting range in one of the rooms, greeting one of the guys that was there. She grabbed a sniper rifle, getting set up for it. Taking her time, she fired and worked on her aim, though it didn't need it much. She really should practice this outside where the conditions were more realistic. Ah well, this was good for now. She wasn't quite as proficient at a sniper rifle than a pistol.
