AUGGGH!!!!! I'M AN IDIOT!!! I thought it was SUNDAY, so I got contests off by a day! Your entries are ALL FINE, judging doesn't start until later tonight. So that update I sent out, saying Blue won two contests, is wrong. Sorry Blue, I'm a bad person.

So that update I sent out, saying Blue won two contests, is wrong. Sorry Blue, I'm a bad person. I feel happy! I don't want to win a contest when it's only me who is participating anyway! Thank you! And one more thing, a person who supports this cause like yourself is not a bad person for they think of others first before doing anything for themselves... Well have a great day!

Nerdy_Boy_4evah ...I would like y'all who have lost a loved one to cancer to tell us a story from those dark times. Any cancer... At this time, I have not "lost" a loved one to cancer. Yet. In September 2008, my father was diagnosed with cancer of the throat. He had a growth on his neck and it was becoming harder and harder for him to eat and drink. He went in and yup, cancer. Daddy went in for all the chemo and lost his hair, my dad has a LOT of hair and seeing him lose it so quickly, then so much weight... He went from 130 pounds to about 87 pounds in 2 months. But then, he went in and the doctors said it was going away. He was getting better! Around this time, I had been planning on moving out of state, but was holding off because he was sick. Now he was better and it was all good. So packed up and moved, "See you later Daddy," and no worries. Then, about four months later, I was at work and got a call from my grandmother, the cancer is back and they did not give him until Christmas. I think I have never cried harder in my whole life. Time passes... Struggle, struggle, struggle... Dad not accepting calls or responding to letters or to e-mails. No contact with the man. Christmas came and went. He is still here, fighting. He doesn't want to go. God bless the Marine in him. My bloodline doesn't lay down and die. So now it is day to day. Still no contact, but listening to family members who live out there to tell me what is going on helps. Soon, I will have the chance to go out for a visit and see him. You know... BEFORE what is going to happen... well, happens. So I guess, in a way, I have "lost" someone to cancer, just not in the traditional sense?

I hope your father gets better or he goes while he is at peace with the world. My father's passing affected me greatly. These past several months, I have been chronically depressed. Due to many other things, although his passing is one of the greatest reasons.
I don't mourn my father's passing. I can't. I have no tears. No sadness. I didn't know him well enough to mourn for him. The is one of the greatest pains I bear everyday. To know that I can't cry for the man who's blood runs through my veins. Who's genes are now partly my own. My own father... And I can't cry for him.

Aloooha. I'd love to join, and help support this cause. Although, I haven't really experienced what it's like to lose a loved one to cancer, I'm happy to help in anyway I can! :3

Can I cry now? Stop talking about mourning! You're going to make me cry! How about a play list contest? The more your play list is informative about cancer, the more your odds to win! So? Game? @Rainbow:Sure! Why not?

Nerdy_boy and Diemend- someone I care about told me something to this effect when I was afraid of my grand father's passing- "If I passed on and someone became depressed and ceased living normally, I would take it as a kick in the teeth. Mourning is natural, but when it rules over the rest of your life it's an insult to their memory. No-one you love or are linked to in such a way would want the people they left behind to lose themselves. Be strong, remember them and live on as they would wish you to." I don't know if that would strike you as it did me, but it's fairly true... if we love them, we will live well with their memory. The fact that in your case Diemend- he's still fighting, shows he is a true strong hearted person. As should we be through it all... and Nerdy- you shouldn't feel heartsore at not being able to greive for your father. Spare him a thought and a place in your heart- its just another way of letting him be a part of you.
Blue- this is a support group too, surely? If people want to talk of their mourning, just try and empathise =] . I am aware that the topic is distressing- but cancer as a whole is a dark thing. Anyway, here's the link to Gins Spoony Day . Be sure to read the front page before you post? xxx

I don't like the feeling... You too don't you? OK I will anyway...
