Willow began to trace the route an ant was taking. She smiled when it stopped at an anthill. She heard Shame approach and lay between she and Akuma, snorting.

Akuma looked at Willow, "So what do you want to do now?" he asked.

Willow jumped up happily, dragging him with her. "Lets have that race!" she said excitedly. She heard Thunderhead snort with anticipation. The horse reared, ready for a race.

"Woah!" eclaimed Akuma as Willow suddenly dragged them towards thier mounts. "Are you sure it's fair? Devil's a pegasus, he could easily start to fly just to win..." he said uneasily. Devil butted him, snorting, as though he was saying that he wouldn't think of cheating. Akuma laughed, "Alright then! Let's race!" he shouted as he climbed onto Devil's back.

Willow smiled and umped on Thunderheads back. She wispered something in the horses ear and he snorted. She smiled at Aukuma. "When y'all are ready." she said.

Arson smiled when they reached the stables. "Here we are." he said before looking down at Ayame.

Ayame entered the stables with a look of great trepidation. "Uh, maybe I don't want to see the horses." Ayame said, looking over at Arson. "I mean...girls like me don't like horses." "And horses don't like girls like me." Ayame thought bitterly, scuffing her foot through the straw that littered the ground. "Plus, it stinks in here." She said, wrinkling her nose, although in reality, the smell didn't bother Ayame at all, and it was sadly clear she was lying through her teeth.

Arson only smiled and put his hand gently to Ayame's back, pushing her steadily forward. "Oh, come on. They're only horses." he replied evenly. He moved forward before turning around to face Ayame. A smile was on his face before Arson reached forward to Snow, one of the white pegasi there. "You remember me?" he asked softly. [/aalign]

Ayame's bright blue-green eyes were wide with fear and excitement as she followed carefully after Arson, looking as though she expected the pegasi and horses to sneak attack the two demi-gods at any minute. "Um, they don't...talk, do they?" She asked cautiously, realizing that, at this point, if the answer was yes, she wouldn't really be that surprised. "Hey there pretty girl." Ayame said softly, reaching out a hand gingerly to pet the pengasi's nose, still looking as though she was afraid the horse was going to bit her hand off. A faint smile appeared on her lips, and the fearful looking in Ayame's eyes faded slightly, though it was not entirely gone.

Arson smiled softly. "Snow is a stallion." he corrected gently. He rested his hand on top of Ayame's before guiding it over to Snow's cheek. The stallion whinnied and Arson smiled. "He likes you." he said kindly.

Ayame's face flared crimson, and she bit her lip, embarrassed. "Oops." She ducked her head slightly. "Uh...sorry?" Her smile grew slightly when Arson rested his hand on top of hers, though she looked down at the ground again, not wanting him to see the blush that was quickly creeping back along her cheeks. "I like him too." Ayame said, and smiled at Arson. "Thank you." A part of her told Ayame to back up, and stand several feet away from Arson, because they were waaaay to close. Another part of her, however, was sending out poisonous thoughts about kissing Arson. "No! That would not be okay!" Ayame scolded herself.

Arson smiled softly and looked down at Ayame. "Would you like to brush him?" he asked gently. The clueless boy wasn't all that aware as to how affectionate he was being, considering that Ayame wasn't in a relationship with him. He was just being the affectionate boy he was raised to be considering how weird and affectionate Ivy could and would be at times. He took Ayame's hand off of Snow's cheek and led her inside the stable with him. A small bucket rested on the inside of Snow's stall. In it was a brush. Snow picked it up and offered it to Ayame.

Biting her lip, and struggling to get her mind out of the gutter, Ayame nodded, and followed Arson. "I...don't really know what to do." She admited, staring at her shoes, and feeling like an out-of-place city girl, although Arson helped lessen that feeling by some degree. "You'll have to show me how to brush the horse." Ayame looked up at Arson, and felt her stomach tighten slightly. It didn't feel bad. Just different. Ayame wasn't used to feeling like this. For the most part, she was in control of her own emotions. That is, well, was, before she came to Camp Half-Blood and met Myka and Ivy and Arson. Especially Arson. Swallowing, Ayame thought of jumping into a lake, and sinking to the bottom, letting the cool water wash away everything. Slowly, the blush faded from her cheeks, although the tight, slightly uncomfortable feeling in her stomach didn't. Sighing, Ayame reached out, and took the brush Arson was offering.

Arson smiled, giving the brush to Ayame. He walked behind her, and took a careful hold of her wrist. He brought it onto Snow's flank and brought her arm in a slow, thick sweeping motion, pulling across Snow's short fur. "Just find a rythym, and Snow will get used to it." he instructed, his voice soft. His breath was unintentionally tickling at her ear. He rested his hand over Ayame's, keeping it there firmly, but softly enough so that if she wanted his hand gone, they'd be easily able to slide from each other's grasp..

Only by biting her lip hard enough to draw blood did Ayame control her blush. She didn't pull her hand away from Arson's, although she did duck her head slightly to move away from him. Slowly, she fell into the pattern of brushing the horse, and she relaxed. "This is very calming." She thought, allowing her thoughts to drift wherever they pleased...expect in any areas concerning Arson. After several minutes, Ayame pulled away and set the brush down gently. "Thank you." She mumbled, patting Snow's flank instead of looking at Arson. However, she knew that was both rude and cowardly, so, summoning her courage, Ayame looked up at Arson and smiled, still thinking about sinking into deep, silent water.
