I play flute so it wasn't hard to adjust. I did however manage to use it as an excuse to get out of band practice for a week. -Ish bad-

Okay, so now I've had mine for about a month...I can play my saxophone okay now. =D Almost back to normal playing. The largest problem is just my endurance.

theres a guy in my band he play trupit and once his braces got cot on the hoth peice how does that happen?

It will hurt I don't know about the oboe, but I have broces and play the flute and every time I snaped it to hard onto my lip it pushed into my braces and cut it. That and if you join winter guard or play an instrument with braces take this one advice PUT WAX ON BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, cause if something hits you lip to hard it cuts your lip really badly! Wish I had that info a second ago when my flag hit my lip and almost busted my nose.

I got my braces the day before our first football game my freshman year. It took a while to get used to playing with braces, it did hurt, but you get used to it honest. Once you figure out how to learn to play again its all easy from there. Once you get the braces off it does feel weird- but again you get used to it.

I play trumpet...When I had braces, after playing for a while you could see an imprint of my brace against the inside of my lips, it hurt but I soon got used to it. I found it quite a bit harder to reach the top notes aswell, but tbh...its worth it for once you've got the braces off its all over and done with XP

i used to have braces and it wasen't so bad, but its hard to ajust after you get them of. atlest it was for me

yea braces make it harder. I play the flute, and couldn't hit any notes over upper octave C for about a month! sad
