Kichi felt it as the pull got stronger, but then suddenly let go. He flew out, then turned around, knowing something was coming, and put both wings in front of himself like a shield. One of the beams struck him dead on, sending him flying backwards. Finally, he managed to angle his wings so that it glanced off to the side.
He breathed heavily as the rain started to fall, and fired off a powerful Flare blast into the clouds, parting them slightly to get some area where it wouldn't rain. He looked at the shadow of Louis, where the center of the blast had been. He glared for a second, wondering if this was some sort of trap. Well, he'd need to do something. He flew top speed down at the fetal-positioned shadow. Then...he used all his remaining power. "MASTER....FLARE...PUNCH!!" As he charged in, his left tonfa shot a large beam of flare energies from the back end, accelerating him further, until he was literally a golden blur of armor once more, and attempted to slam his tonfa into his opponent.

"Life's no fun without a little pain, amirite? Right" he said.
John placed his arms in front of him and yelled, "Thick Skin!"
His body seemed to grow as his defenses rose quickly.

She stopped at a suitable distance from John and inclined her head in a bow, a gesture bred into her from her family that she couldn't quite shake. As she lifted her head, she smiled in response to the electric user. "Of course!"
As she watched John cast a spell that seemed to increase his defenses, she placed her flute to her lips to cast hers. Haste! A blue rune glowed into existence beneath her in the shape of a gigantic clock. The hands slowly sped up, before finally going so fast they merely blended into a large blue of blue lights, successfully increasing her speed. "Should I go first?" The musician asked before her smile broadened, "or do you need the extra time?"

"Hm... oh yes, one more thing... Max-SDA!" John shouted.
A surge of blue light engulfed him and exploded with light. As the light quickly died down, John's body was left with lightning visibly surging throughout his body. The splatter damage done when John dealt an attack was now multiplied in area and damage so that small damage could be dealt if the attack was evaded to compliment his already enforced passive ability.
"I only thought it necessary as you are a spellcaster" John said smiling. "I'm ready now dear"

Jenny cocked her head to the side as she watched the electricity jump and skitter across his body. Extra defenses? Though it looks like it would be mildly painful to the touch as well, too bad I won't let him get that close! And besides, a little current isn't going to help here.
Her chocolate brown eyes darted across the arena, taking in her surroundings. A number of the giant stone pillars had fallen and now lay in pieces across the room, there was a clear path outlines by a deep red carpet that traveled up the center of the room to the opposite side, where there rested a throne. Glancing upwards, Jenny noted that the ceiling of the shrine seemed rather feeble, in fact she could she small portions of the sky from where she stood. She was going to have to use the location to the best of her abilities, if she really wanted to win against someone with such massive power as John.
A different melody than reverberated across the room, causing the stone rubble to shake before being lifted up, the laws of gravity suddenly crossed. Goodnight Gravity~ The floating rocks would serve as minor obstacles for the time being, possibly even obstructing his vision of the entire battlefield. Then, a portal opened up directly above John, as the melody shifted. A barrage of moderately sized meteors fell through full force, intent on making the war-hammer wielder into pancakes; completely ignorant of Jenny's gravity affecting spell moments prior.

The Doug Song John noticed the portal open above him and with the change of music, John realized that an attack would be coming as the music hastened and the portal was not going to offer anything like a fluffy little bunny...
His prediction was correct as out of the portal came a variety of different medium sized meteors came plummeting out of the portal. The meteors fell at random so they didn't come directly for his body, but for him it was no problem to judge how random they were as he could stay in the same position. The meteors that did come near his body were deflected by John being able to brace for the impact of the meteors without much effort. The final meteor came a few seconds later than all the rest which gave John just enough time to redirect its course. John use the end of his warhammer to redirect the final meteor back toward Jenny.
John then kicked off of the ground and slammed his hammer through a meteor that he had deflected before. The meteor exploded with impact sending many smaller pieces of meteor scattering across the arena, many heading toward Jenny.

Jenny's eyes widened, was he managing to avoid every single one of her meteors? She would just have to put more magic in it next time to make them larger. She only used the bare minimum of magic to test the hammer wielder and it was as she thought, his defenses stood up to his class. As the meteor careened towards her, the mage merely smiled. The molten rock merely fazed through her, and crashed into the wall behind her. She couldn't be touched by her own magic, and she was immune to time magic to boot.
Jenny wasted no time as she sidestepped the rubble with ease due to the haste spell (as it was dying off) before slipping into her next spell. "Northern Lights!" a green glyph appeared underneath John, glowing with intensity before firing a blast of colorful energy into the air, intent on taking the warrior with it. What the flutist liked about the spell was that it could easily be chained, if John moved, the glyph would follow giving the appearance of a growing Aurora Borealis.

At Jenny's words John kicked off the ground as a method to make the target for her next attack smaller. The glyphs that formed beneath him were easy enough to spot and he readied another attack to counter it.
John wanted to counter her attack, but in the back of his mind, he knew that simply casting spell v. spell constantly would mean a loss for him. Although he knew he had higher defenses, he also knew that defenses meant nothing if his opponent kept dodging his attacks. He would have to be witty and cunning and keniving and all the words he loved to use that were of proper vocabulary. Perhaps if he grunted enough and had a dead relative to give him advice, he might have been able to avoid tactics, but unfortunately neither were plausible ways to win.
"Thunder Cannon!" John yelled as he placed the end of his war hammer beneath him. A large beam made of lightning erupted out of the end of it toward Jenny's attack and shot John the opposite direction toward the ceiling. With his hammer, he made a small hole in the ceiling large enough for him to squeeze his way through. If it was going to be a battle, then he was going to use every trick that he had up his sleeve... and more.

[Cue: Humanoid - MENDES ]As John began his ascent, the glyphs followed in his tracks, shooting off brilliant displays of energy in various colors. The aether twisted but otherwise remained generally unaffected by the lightning. After all they were blasts of pure energy. Jenny watched John make his way through an opening in the ceiling and a smile tugged at her lips. Was he expecting her to follow him blindly? The glyphs died as the spell came to an end, unable to follow such heights so rapidly.
The gravity spell that wove through the rocks ended as well, and the floating masses of rubble abruptly fell to the floor, sending up a mild layer of dust. Jenny hardly paid attention from her end of the arena though. Her brown eyes narrowed as she eyed the ceiling. She quickly changed her song, dotting the ceiling with translucent glyphs that could only be seen from the underside. Then as the music sped up, each of the gylphs exploded in energy, quickly crumbling away pieces of the ceiling in an attempt to take away John's footing and cause him to fall.
Then the tempo in her music changed as she weaved a basic reflect spell around her to rebound off any of the falling rubble that she didn't manage to evade all the while keeping a lookout for John.

John's expectations of the time mage were more than accurate as he realized that she would only utilize her magic attacks against him. The explosions were expected as he realized only a fool would follow a wolf into its den. The shift in gravity however was not expected as the first of the rocks that fell fell downward. John's reflexes weren't very good but his speed is what made up for it. The ceiling literally collapsed beneath him and John used this to be able to give himself a freefall down toward the ground where Jenny was standing.
Faster and faster he fell as John reared back his hammer and just before he hit the ground, John used all of his strength to hit the ground with the force of his own strength and 9.82 meters per second squared awesomeness.
The impact would have been not directly next to Jenny, but close enough that she would be affected by the size of the crater he created and the debris that flew up from the attack.

Jenny gritted her teeth as John fell through ceiling, looking virtually unharmed by her magic. She was throwing a barrage of spells at him only to have him evade or defend against it. How is he possibly dodging all those spells? She would've been growling in frustration by now if she wasn't sent painfully flying onto her butt from the impact o his landing. The reflect spell had thankfully taken most of the damage for her but her bottom was still throbbing.
This is going nowhere! At the rate we're going it'll be down to how much energy we have to keep tossing attacks at each other!
Back-stepping a little, Jenny drew the flute back to her lips. One way to make sure attacks hit was to slow someone and that was her specialty. The melancholy tune echoed off the rubble as a glyph of a clock face appeared underneath John, the hands slowly counting backwards and trapping him within a slow spell. Then without the slightest hesitation, the music shifted; summoning up three glyphs that spun around John.
"Prism blast!" As if the glyphs exhaled with Jenny's voice, each spellcircle exploded into blasts of energy straight towards John, seeking to trap the hammer wielder in the center. Coliseum battle or not, it still pained the flutist to hurt another person especially one she knew not to have ill intent. So sorry!
"There's no time to be sorry! If you have mercy on him, there's no saying he'll have mercy on you!"
But-!
----
((And because of Jenny's passive "Perilous Songstress" which doubles Jenny's chance of inflicting a status ailment, there wasn't a need to generate a number >< since well, with slow having neither a penalty or advantage the outcome is Jenny's MS of 14 versus John's MD of 13.... and 14/13 ... well it's a guarantee hit >nO;; ))

John decided to take the blows, and it was, at the time, his only decision. What John had learned from all his experience, was taking blows was one of his better aspects. Caught in the slow spell, John ducked into a crouch, but was caught halfway by the attack. The explosions enveloped John and pain seered through his body... but for John, a physical hindrance could never surpass the mental aspects of one's mind. He knew that he would be able to take a lot before his body gave up on him, so as long as he ran, and as long as he was hit, he could bear it out.
The dust around him settled, and he could see that Jenny was distracted by something. He had raised his hammer above his head prepping for the next attack.
"Um... I know this isn't usual protocol, but I am slightly confused as to why you aren't following up on your attack so uh... I shall give you warning now. I am attacking heehee! Ho-roooooooooooooh!" John bellowed as he flung his hammer through the settling dust at Jenny. The war hammer spun wildly as it traveled directly to where Jenny was standing.

~"Told you so," Siren sneered as Jenny was greeted by another attack.
The time mage ignored her summon and quickly jumped out of the way of the spinning hammer. With John slowed, it wasn't incredibly difficult to do, but now she knew that the warrior meant business and she wasn't about to give him a half-hearted fight. The dust stung at her eyes a little, like it dried them out. Jenny blinked fervently a couple of times to clear her vision.
John's forte was obviously his defenses so either catching him off guard or nuking the entire battlefield was her best bet. Maybe. That or inflicting status effect after status effect. There were several avenues to explore, either way. She had the speed advantage at the moment, both in attack and movement. She dotted the battlefield with several hidden stars around John's general vicinity, only to be triggered when he stepped near or on them or when Jenny chose to explode them.
"Northern Lights!" Several waves of aether shot out towards the hammer wielder, hoping to catch him in their beams of energy. And unbeknownst to John, they were steering him towards the first clusters of hidden stars.
