He followed after her, keeping a good distance behind her. What had he said to upset her so? He had no idea how to handle an angry woman any other way. Maybe there was a different way...he'd have to ask her when she decided to talk to him again.

Krystelle was silent for the rest of the journey to the ruins. Once there she paused and looked at him. "I'm sorry for snapping at you like that. It's just so frustrating when you do one thing and then turn around and try and take it back. If you want to do something or even say something then do it! Don't worry about anything else." She turned back to the ruins of the giant mirror. "Hm... I suppose the name does fit. It's the ruins of a mirror alright."

"It is lovely..." He scuffed his hoof along the ground. "And I am sorry...but I know of no other way to respond to an angry woman. If there is a different way, I would like to learn it..."

"I wouldn't quite call it lovely..." She said with a shrug, "Most males respond to an angry woman by either a) getting angry back and telling her he is right and she must listen to him; b) backing down completely and meekly apologizes to her; or c) apologizes that he made her mad but still holds his ground on whatever it was he did. Of course I'm sure there are other ways but those are the ones I know of."

He nodded, "I don't see me wanting to yell at you...I think I will try option C when we next argue...if we argue again..."

"I'm sure we will argue again. Everyone does it sometime." She replied gazing back at the broken mirror. There wasn't much else here. "Well whenever you're ready to go we can head off to the lake."

"This place is pretty in its own way..." He looked around the area, "But I am ready to follow you to the lake, Krystelle." Errdegahar Kyorl smiled in his rusty manner, "After you."

She glanced around once more and shrugged. "You're right, I suppose." She smiled at his smile and softly chuckled, "Alright. To the lake we go." She got her bearings and began walking around the mirror ruins to the Northwest.

Errdegahar kept close, scanning the surroundings for anything that could harm Krystelle.
From the darkness of the trees, Ramoth Cress looked at the pair moving with ease. The silent guard had been sent by Streea Ulu Ssussuun to bring Errdegahar Kyorl back. He noted the pair's path and moved to make an interception.

Krystelle led them to the plains. There were trees off in the distance but there were very few close to them. She was paying more attention to where she was walking and avoided small holes and rocks. "So Errdegahar....." She glanced at him and sighed, "I don't really have anything to talk about...... Would you like to go for a swim when we reach the lake?"

"I've never been swimming above the ground before. I am certainly up for the experience." He was glancing around nervously. He could feel someone near.
Ramoth cursed. Errdegahar could feel him...he'd forgotten to mask his presence. He shrugged, no use delaying the inevitable. Ramoth Cress stepped out from the trees, moving stealthily toward the pair, brandishing a silken web as he approached. His eyes scanned the female quickly before looking back at the ground and then to his brother. "Errdegahar Kyorl...the Priestess Streea Ulu Ssuunssun calls you home."

"Above the ground? You mean you've only swam underground?!" She was slightly shocked by that since she had only swum above ground. She noticed him glancing around nervously and paused. "Is something the matter?" Her question was quickly answered when another male stepped out and began speaking. Accursed Drows! She quickly pulled out her bag of crystals and gems. She found her fire agate gem and held onto it. She'd summon the spirit of the gem if this male didn't leave.

Errdegahar inserted himself between his brother and Krystelle without thought. "Krystelle, this is my brother, Ramoth Cress...and the other guard of my sister, Streea. He was planning to leave momentarily, weren't you, Ramoth?"
The black male shrugged. "To go home without you would be to ask my priestess for death. She is very angry, Brother. She will arrange for you to find another woman to sire offspring with. Perhaps one with a better alignment if you return quickly."
Errdegahar frowned and wavered in his resolve momentarily. Streea might not be so upset if he came home now...but then he looked at Krystelle...and he couldn't find it in his soul to hurt her. He shook his head, "I do not care what Streea wants any longer. I have chosen to follow a new female. And I am not leaving." With that, Errdegahar muttered a small spell and pulled his sword out of the air. "Do not make me do this, Brother."
Ramoth looked at his brother with shock. "You cannot be serious...You are seeking death, and you know this..."

Krystelle was slightly annoyed at how Errdegahar put himself between her and his brother. He was blocking her line of sight! "I should have guessed that he was your sister's guard. Who else would come after us." She said stepping slightly to the side so she could see Ramoth Cress, "You heard him, Ramoth Cress. He's not leaving here. And if you continue to bother us you'll have to deal with me as well." She began focusing her energies into the fire agate causing it to glow.

Ramoth laughed, "I see that this one has power. Perhaps your choice for a dam has been wiser than we thought." He cast his own web of magic around Errdegahar. "Now if only you were not the sire..."
"Ramoth, Stop this." He slashed his sword at the barrier around him, doing nothing to break it. "Krystelle...If he attacks, I cannot protect you..."
