 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"You were at a friend's house?" Was initially the first comment his father made.
Tod nodded, acting aloof as always. "I was studying at school and I thought it was too late to walk back home, so I stayed in his dorm."
That seemed to...not really please his Father, but Daddy dearest wasn't going to press further, he was a busy man after all!
"Alright, that's acceptable. Come here Tod." Tod who was currently chewing on the inside of his cheek, closed the distance and walked up to the comfy looking chair. His father got up, and quickly placed a kiss to his forehead.
"Try to be good, alright." Try to be good, try to be good, try to be good! How infamous a line! That was all his Father ever said. It was supposed to be endearing, and his Father probably meant it to be, but all it did was make Tod angry.
It didn't help that his Father had threatened his life the other day either....
"Your pills are on the table, go take them."
"Okay." That wasn't enough for Tod's father though. Tod could see it in the man's eyes! And so, to finish up their little get together, Tod, as was costumed, hugged his father and said...lacking a luster, "Love you."
He was 17...Tod really didn't see why he was subjected to the actions of a child. He moved to where the pills where and glared at them....secretly.
He didn't know exactly what they did...but Tod was pretty sure they did something with his hormones...and his brain!

 Crysella shook her head and sighed, bending over to pick up the dress. Clean clothes, no matter the wretched source, couldn't be passed up where she was. She grunted angrily and ran off to her watering hole, too much time had already been wasted and she needed to hurry so she could get all her stuff done before nightfall. So she ran, pulling off her bra and jump/skipping as she tugged off her underwear and once there she dropped her clothes on the bank and dove in. Resurfacing she quickly scrubbed her hair, using a root that the empire harvested frequently to make soap. Yay nature!! she scrubbed her body, letting the soap soak into her tangled mess and and rinsing it out, untangling it with her fingers till it was semi straight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------He picked up the pills...which were a pretty blue color believe it or not, and surveyed them. He remembered taking these when he was like, 12. Back then he had actually swallowed them...and he hadn't looked at girls once. Same went up until he was 15, the prime of his puberty.
15 year old Tod, was practically gay, he didn't even think about boobies!
Now though, ever since he had stopped taking the pills (just to be a b***h a rebel against his parents), he had started to really notice girls. They way their hips swished when they walked, the curve their chests made in their dresses, how they were soft to the touch and not solid like men...he had noticed everything.
It was like he had been blindfolded, and finally someone had taken the fabric away from his eyes.
p***s pills...the Empire really was trying to get rid of sex. Damn Empire! They had to get rid of everything fun! Tod threw the pills into his mouth and quickly coaxed them under his tongue. Once they were snug, he downed the water.
He walked into his room, made eye contact with the telescreen and shut the door.
Not that shutting the door would give him any privacy at all. It didn't matter, Tod was pretty skilled. He put the water to his lips, then expertly cracked the capsules open with his teeth. the power flew out and quickly dissolved into the water.
Take that dumb pills.
Tod placed the water down and swallowed the harmless pill shells dry.
Wahahahhahahaha! He had been beating the system for two years now.
He picked up the glass, walked back into the kitchen, which was more like the kitchen of a 5 star restaurant, and threw the water down the sink's drain.
Tod pursed his lips. Empire life was so tedious. And it didn't help that officials were arriving at his house in about an hour....to discuses his new---position.

"So who's the guy you've been hangin with?" Trey asked, getting right to the point. Crysella grinned and gave him a coy smile. "One of the biggest assets the order has had in a while." hell yeah he was. "I can't tell you too much about it now, but I'll let you know at the next meeting, don't say anything until then and I'll make it worth your while." yeah meaning Crysella would allow a romp and she knew that was good enough to keep Treys mouth shut till the time came to tell the others. To which Trey grinned and pulled a condom out of his pocket. ******** had been hopeful the whole time "Your a d**k you know dear." "You like it." Well she did like it...

About an hour later, Crysella had washed off again and was now even cleaner. Unfortunately that left her not as much time as she would have wished and she had to meet Tod. She saw no reason not too, plus it would give her more time to get information. Which was always good, so she made some arrows, strung up her bow and sharpened her knives. By the time she finished with that it was dark and she had to run to make sure she was at the wall in time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sitting at the wall, by himself, in the dark, allowed Tod to have enough time to reflect on his day.
Shitty.
It had been primarily shitty. He had shacked so many people's hands it was unreal. And then he had talked with a bunch of old guys, who stared at him and literally judged is appearance. He had been deemed pretty enough to go on TV and fulfill his life's purpose!
Tod's ego had liked the outcome, but his brain....not so much. Being the spokesperson not only meant he was the face of the dreaded Empire, but that he had to wake up at like, 4 in the morning.
4!!!!!!!! And he had to lead the exercise, which made Tod self conscious as hell. He now felt the need to be the most flexible person ever...something as a boy, was impossible!
Tod huffed to himself angrily. He'd have to go to bed at like, 7:30...but he couldn't even think about that!
He heard some noise on the other side of the wall.
Was she there?
"Hey", he called quietly hoping to get a response.

Crysella heard Tod's voice from the other side of the wall. Holy crap how long had he been waiting there? "Hey..." she replied and surveyed the area around them, ugh damn guards..
She ducked down, pressing herself flat against the wall as the light swept by on her side. ********>

Well seeing as Tod was all up for making this as casual as possible, he decided to go with a classic...with a personal twist of course.
"So, how was washing day?" He assumed it went well, unless she was having a bad day! Lord knows Tod's day wasn't full of unicorns shitting rainbows.

Crysella grinned and shook her head. "It was fantastic, I'm all squeaky clean now." ah the simple joys of life made it worth the hellish week days. Or well they referred to it as weekends anyways. She sat down with her back against the wall "And how did your day go? Did you make it back without being caught?" idle conversation, a trademark of the Empire, when you were running for your life there wasn't too much time for chit chat...

Crysella yawned, wow he had a bad day. Interesting, not really actually. She figured that he would have not been here if he had turned up missing, but whatever. "How was your day so bad?" she asked nonchalantly, not showing the amount of unconcern she felt.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well he wasn't sure it would be smart to actually tell her everything...because if for some reason it leaked that Tod had said something to some outsider....not good.
It wasn't safe to talk to one in general, but he could play it off as teenage curiosity and maybe stay alive...giving out information....that would kill him.
He's tweak the truth.
"My dad wants me to start getting up at 4 every morning for that stupid job you overheard about me getting."
There was more to it than that...but he figured he's keep that to himself. She knew that he's be on the announcements...but telling her some of the most important people in the Empire gathered at his house...the house of the most important people in the Empire....that could be really really bad.

Crysella frowned and paid a little closer attention to what the boy was saying. He was talking about that announcement job he had gotten. Which meant he at the very least knew people. And now he was an important person himself. "Yeah, the one you were supposed to start in a week right? Some sort of.. telescreen thing?" yeah she knew what the guy had said, but if she could get more information out of it then that would be awesome.

"You know a bunch of my friends would love to boss people around on the telescreens....but that's the last thing I wanna do..whatever."
Well he didn't have a choice at all...and he had to sound sort of grateful or else. Everything in the Empire was a game, and you had to play the part. If you didn't, you died...or were thrown into the murk...a fate, apparently worse than death, though Crysella seemed pretty cool.
But then Tod thought of his friends.
"Hey, do you have any friends outside in the murk?"

Crysella frowned and looked out into the Murk, he really wasn't sounding like a brainwashed Empire boy should sound, she sat up straight suddenly, good thing Tod couldn't see it, those pills.... Did they change the formula in them? Was Tod taking them?
.....
She snapped out of her sudden realization in time to hear him ask about her friends. She thought about it for a second, debating on what exactly to tell him. She had a few friends, but most of them were acquaintances that she was only associated with because of the order. "Yeah, a few, we try not to make too many friends over here...." because most of them got eaten anyways...
"I was actually talking to a friend of mine earlier today, met him down by the watering hole, it was a pleasant surprise." helluv a pleasant surprise actually.
