My summon is a straight up human. So instead of coming up with an animal substitute, I offer this argument for a humanoid Zord, despite the argument not technically being a zord.

Quite a few of our summons are straight-up humans. Ultima, Shiva, Sylph (is mostly humanoid, anyway), Asura, Siren, Odin, Ramuh... This is where creativity comes in handy, which I'd assume RPers have in spades. You could always be Daigoro. xD

As for your argument, you sort of killed it with your own aside- not a zord. xD

Also, another point of interest. For all intents and purposes, the forces, both ground and air, are limitless. Consider this a 'timed objective' sort of battle. Keeping your energy and health up for as long as possible, not destroying as many as you can, will be what saves the day.

Ok then, what about animal Zords that could, on their own, transform into humanoid zords? Two examples I know of off the top of my head (due to playing with their toys throughout my childhood) are the Red Dragonzord and the White Tigerzord.

As for the other summons being human, most of those are only humanoid. Ultima is a six-winged angel whose legs are barely ever shown, if at all. Shiva is a spirit of ice. Sylph is a faerie. Asura is a six-armed deity. Siren is... some kind of... nymph-y spirit-y thing. The only ones out of that list that I would consider "human" are Odin and Ramuh. Honestly, I see both Odin and Yojimbo as the sort of "animal-to-humanoid" Zords: transforming from their animal companions (Sleipnir and Daigoro) into their humanoid warrior forms.

We're going to be keeping to the animal forms, much like the movie, considering that's the basis of the world. If this is an issue, we apologize, but that's what's been decided.

No issue, just thought I'd try every possible route to get what I had been looking forward to this entire time in a Power Ranger world. Just kind of wish someone would have corrected me the countless times I mentioned wanting a samurai zord, though that would have been an easier thing to correct me on if I wasn't banned from the main chat for year-old silly reasons.

Apparently, despite this being discussed publicly with Alan in either the Audition thread or the HA QSD thread, a certain fact about Passives has been largely unknown. So, here's the 'official' announcement.

Soryuju Ryutetsin
  • While technically a 'Passive' ability, Affinity/Ailment trade-offs do not take up one of the 2 Passive Slots. As such, you can have some of these and your normal 2 Passives.

    • Ailment Alterations : You pick an ailment to become twice as susceptible to, and in return, you pick an ailment (of equal or lower difficulty) to be half as susceptible to.

    • Affinity Alteration : You pick an element to have a lower resistance to; in return, pick an element to have a higher resistance to. These are a bit more debatable and will need to be discussed with the mods almost definitely.

HA ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ZORDS

For those that aren't familiar with the Power Rangers universe, the Zords must be in Animal form. It can be any animal that relates to the summon, but it -must- be an animal (mystical or not), and not a human or a human-animal hybrid.

Also, Zords are all approximately of equal strength, so someone with really low MS would still have a Zord with the same power as someone with really high MS. The only difference might be in any sort of energy attacks they use.

Something I thought didn't need to be said, but apparently does... xD

Summoning as a Zord does -not- take up mana. It doesn't really make sense for it to, seeing as the Rangers don't even -have- mana. This is the benefit of going with Zords instead of actual Summons; the drawback, as stated earlier, is that they're all of equal strength, regardless of your MS. Besides, if they did take up mana, then it would be as Bard says- they'd take up massive amounts in little time, which would make the battle pointless and definitely a loss xD

To Bard: Sorry we didn't catch that in your actual Zord posts x_x Had I noticed, I would have corrected you on it immediately, since you wouldn't have known. This makes the... what, 3rd time I've messed up and had to correct you on it? x__x Sorry.

Don't worry about it at all. Everyone makes mistakes and that's why the edit button exists.

If you want to go with my in character explanation, that's fine, by the way, so we don't have to change anything.

To Everyone Who Wants a Replica!!!

The time fast approaches. When the battle of Hawaii ends, the Replicas will be released (you'll be given a direct announcement when it happens).

However, if you'd be so kind, please start working on the profiles for them as soon as possible! Of course, we're happy to help out if you have any questions, so feel free to ask.

Some key points you should note:

---The 'Element' should now include Darkness somewhere, such as Dark Water or Water/Darkness. If non-elemental, then it would be Non-Elemental/Darkness. If someone's Light/Holy (I don't think there is) and they're getting a Replica, please PM me, as this is a tricky subject, due to the whole Darkness-Light schtick.

---Obviously, they've switched from Good/Neutral to Evil, so be sure to change that. We'd prefer it if you also included what side of the Order spectrum they're on (Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, or Chaotic Evil), but this is not necessary.

---When upgrading their stats, simply add 3 to each one (they're going up three levels). There's no real customization (yet), since they're just supposed to be upgraded versions of the originals.

---When updating their abilities, you can un-Strike all the abilities you currently have struck out in your own profile, as well as add a few or subtract a few others if you think it better suits their style.

--------As a side note, if any abilities are obviously 'Good'-natured, such as healing others or something of the sort, then you might want to get rid of them or give them a Dark variation (such as healing, but for a price on their behalf).

---Their 'Flaws' list would almost certainly be more extensive than your own, since they don't have pesky morals to get in the way.

---The Summon should be listed as 'Dark ____', and its personality changed, since this is a twisted version of them. You can, of course, give them any name you want, so long as it's clear they are the Dark version of the original's summon.

---Don't bother including the Elemental Affinities yet. We, ah, still haven't worked out what Level 6 would be like for each element x.x

---Don't forget that you get 6 Limit Breaks, one for each level! Also of note, two Limits can be Stat increases if you haven't already used a Passive to do so.

And since the Profile page is locked to anyone but mods, feel free to ask one of us to PM you a copy of your profile! That way you don't have to go through the hassle of typing up a completely new one x___x

Secondary HA Announcement!

We are now allowing a 'Level 0' Limit Break. What this is, essentially, is that instead of charging all your remaining mana into a Limit Break, you charge all your remaining mana into instantly summoning your Summon at full power for a single attack.

Before anybody asks, though, no, we have not figured out the Summon Stat stuff, so don't ask, we're working on it, go away, leave us alone, we're trying! Dx

EDIT: For clarification, the summon may use any ability they choose, but only the one, before disappearing again. So the summon can use a heal, an attack, a buff, whatever it's capable of. Perhaps this would be a good time to mention it's possible for summons to have ability lists? See Anthony's and Kyle V.'s profiles as examples.

I had a revolutionary idea, and I'd like opinions and critique on it. I typed it all up within 30 minutes, so this is sort of like a proto-type. I'm seriously considering implementing it, though. This idea is for my own RP, Fragments of Memory.

GM’ing Granted

If you clicked on the Rules in the main thread, you most certainly got Rick Roll’ed. However, there are a few rules, all of which can be found in this Information and Discussion thread, and this is one of them.

You don’t have to be active. But if you didn’t tell us you’d be inactive, and your character has been inactive for three days, then any player interacting with you may GM your character. You heard me correctly.

This applies to normal interactions, to battles, to conversations, etc. I call it the Three Day Rule.

Now, there are limits on what GM’ing Granted allows. It allows you to control another’s character, that is true, but it does not allow you to, say, kill them during that time, or make them say something entirely out of character (although that might be amusing). Below is a short guideline for character control (that is, control of other people’s characters).

After Three Days: You may GM them doing, well, nothing. For example, let’s say Mina is talking to Jeanna. Without warning, Jeanna suddenly stops responding. After three days has passed, I could put this into my Mina post. “Mina looked at Jeanna oddly, wondering why she seemed so silent…”
Because she did not respond within three days, she quite literally did not respond in-character, either. Then it’s up to Jeanna’s player to explain this awkward silence in her next post.

After Five Days: Let’s say you decide not to GM their character after three days. Maybe you were busy, too, and appreciated the break. Maybe, though, maybe you were waiting for the Five Day Rule to kick in. After five days, you may control their actions, too. Say that Mina and Jeanna are in the middle of a battle and Jeanna goes inactive. The Three Day rule says I could GM her doing nothing, which would be advantageous to me, considering that would leave her wide open for an attack. The Five Day Rule, however, takes that a step further. I could control her actions, say she tried to block an attack and was successful, or have her block fail entirely. In other words, the battle would be in my control. Such is the consequence of suddenly poofing in the middle of a battle: you put your character’s life and health into someone else’s hands.
In GM terms, this might be (loosely) called "Autohitting." However, because there was a five day gap, there's nothing automatic about it. They had their chance to respond, and blew it.

No one, however, may kill another person’s character without permission. You can only be granted permission from the player, or, under very rare circumstances, from Riokins or Psalm Grasshopper (me, tee hee). Say, if that character has been absent for over a month.

Aims, your humour amuses me =///u///=.

This is a very interesting idea :OoOOoo. It sounds fun @U@. I see nothing going against it, and lots of possible shenanigans going for it >33.

Considering how often Kuro and I are trying to get Dawn to post, I like this idea. xd Give her a reason to post, or by God, if Zidane doesn't respond to Mizu within five days she's kneeing him in the groin.

Edit: I just saw it's been a week since Kuro posted, and I was waiting on him. We had a nice round of him, me, Dawn posting with Richard, Mizu, and Zidane, and he done blew it. xd Can we make this retro-active?
