"The fighters live in the barracks," Cindy nodded, "Otherwise the only other thing I can think of is the stable, unless you want to see the vegetable garden..."
In truth if they didn't go into the buildings there weren't much and she didn't want to bother the fighters.

"Whatever you want to show me," Vergil beamed. He turned and waved at the others. "Goodbye, Halmir! Goodbye, Jasmine! I'll see you two later!"
And with a grin, he snuggled into Cindy's arms once more and prepared for wherever they would head next.

"Well.... I suppose we can drop by the stable...." Cindy murmured.
Though hopefully it would be a quick peek in and get out sort of thing, sometimes she wasn't so sure. Though she didn't visit the stable that often to begin with, she knew she could be there for a while if she wasn't careful.

Vergil grinned. "And what kind of place is the stable?" he asked brightly. "Is it a bright and happy place or is it all dark and dreary? What is it used for? Does anyone live there?"
He was full of questions, curious about the place where he had found himself.

"The stable is for the horses, it's where they stay to get out of the elements," Cindy explained, "So I guess you can say they live there."
She wasn't sure if one would consider one or the other, but then she didn't think too much about a place like the stables.

"Do they stay in there all the time?" Vergil asked, pressing for more detail. "What is it like in there? Are there any people in there?"
He had a seemingly insatiable thirst for knowledge - at least of his immediate surroundings.

"No, they're let out so they can run around in a fenced off area so that they can stretch their legs and people can clean it out."
Maybe she thought it would wise to teach Vergil to reach if he didn't know how to do so yet. He had so many questions and it had been a while since Cindy had been with anyone who had a lot of questions.
"There are only people in there to maintain it."

"I see," Vergil murmured thoughtfully. "I think I would like to learn more about that ... do you think I may, Mother?" He looked up at her eagerly, realizing full well what he was asking of her. It would mean time out of her schedule to take him here, because he was sure he would get lost if he tried to come here alone ...

Cindy thought about it for a moment, coming all the way out here constantly would be a bit difficult for her.
"We'll see," Cindy replied, "It depends..."
On weather and what she would be doing that way and so forth.

Vergil nodded understandingly, but inwardly he was a little sad. He just wanted to learn ... but maybe he would find someone else who could take him out here when Cindy couldn't.
"Hey, who's that?" he asked suddenly, pointing to a golden-haired man in the paddock with the horses. The man was brushing down one of the horses, and two of the fingers on his left hand were missing.

"That would be Elberon, he is in charge of the stables and the caring of the horses," she explained.
It was pretty hard to miss him, he was missing his fingers, one of which was from his curiousity the other was pure accident. She made her way up to him, though it was no doubt he was busy.

Vergil nodded, eying the man's missing fingers. He wanted to ask what had happened, but he wasn't sure if that would be a good idea.
Elberon was humming softly to himself as he brushed the horse down, and he almost didn't notice Cindy until she was just about right behind him, and then he turned and smiled warmly at her, a fresh cut on one cheek.
"Ah, Cindy," he greeted her warmly. "And ... little one." He chuckled and wiped at his brow, leaving a brown streak behind. "You must be new here, what's your name?"
Vergil blinked at the man. "Vergil," he replied. "And this is my mother."
Elberon looked at Cindy, one eyebrow raised. "Mother?" he asked, his tone curious.

Cindy nodded, "He needed a home, so... I am now his mother. Lore found him, and he doesn't have any guardians so he needed someone."
It only made sense, well at least to Cindy it only made sense in this case. She looked up at him and wondered what happened this time.
"Elberon, did you know your cheek has a cut?"

Elberon was only mildly distracted by Cindy's question. "Hm? Ah, yes, it's nothing, just ... where did he come from? Is he the same race as Lin? I remember she used to be this small, but I know of no other race who is so small ..."
Vergil looked up at Cindy. "Lin's the one that I like, right?"

Cindy nodded at this, to both of their questions, "Yes, Vergil is a Second just like Lin, and that is the same Lin."
Though she had to giggle mentally at the thought that he hadn't even met Lin yet and thought he would like her already.
