Artemis raised an eyebrow at that. " It exploded? What caused it to explode and why the one near Pan's grove? There are many other places where I could see an automaton being blown up but not the one near Pan's grove. I'm going to hear about this when I run into him next." She lightly scratched the ear of her black dog that her twin had named Midnight to annoy her.

Her vision seemed to have slowed. Most peculiar. The locator! The locator was the cure! If she had control over her vocal chords, Delilah would have shouted it aloud from the rooftops into the ears of irritated passersby. The cure was simple- you had to get the locator's owner to touch the 'afflicted' person whilst holding the locator. It wasn't always a foolproof cure, but hey 5/10 success rates had to be good, right?

"Okay, so now we know the machine's not a knock-off if it caused...this. Does it eventually wear off?" Jasmine asked, reaching towards it at first before retracting her hand. It was broken, yes, but apparently the defense mechanism was still working.
_
Athena heard the small conversation amongst the other gods and godesses, and, taking her ever-so-common owl on her shoulder, walked towards them. "The automaton near Pan's grove? You don't have many travelers near there, and if they are, Pan usually deals with them. Perhaps a lost shepherd?" As if by response, her owl (most commonly called 'Bubo') hooted tiredly.

Sage frowned as she thought back on her lessons. " Dr. S once mentioned that the devices defense mechanisms were done in such a way that not just anyone could cure them. If I remember correctly he said the person who owns the locator has to touch the person who was affected by it but they weren't able to make it to where the success rate was 100 percent."

"The person who owns the locator...well, Kidemonas might not be the real owner of the locator, but it's worth a try." Jasmine turned to Kidemonas. "So, Kidemonas? None of us own the thing, and if we touch it, we'll probably have convulsions as well. You might not be the 'real' owner, but it's the closest thing we have right now."

Hephaestus grunted at the other gods. He was not sociable with his relatives. "My automatons are better than that, Hermes. They would surely not explode like such."he said, stroking his gray beard. He looked down at the dogs Artemis had brought along with her. He could make silver dogs better than those. He lifted his head up to partially hear the conversation. He turned when he saw Athena appear. He bit his lip.
(I remember in the myths Hephaestus liked Athena. Right?)

Artemis noticed Hephaestus looking at her dogs. " I like my dogs just the way they are Hephaestus. These are my best hunting dogs and if you want to experiment with them get it out of your head now. As for the automaton why would travelers cause it to explode? Hephaestus doesn't make shoddy things like that."

(From what I remember.)
Athena frowned for a moment. "Yes, the automaton was there to herd sheep, not protect from intruders. Odd. Hephaestus, did your machine have a self-destruct of any kind? Something that a traveler could have set off by accident?" She asked, mentally chuckling as she saw Artemis get protective over her hunting dogs.

Artemis watched Hephaestus waiting for his thoughts about what might have caused his automaton to explode. Still scratching Midnight's ear. She glanced over at Hermes and smiled slightly he was still busy petting Chocolate another name from her beloved twin. Artemis really needed to keep him away from her pups otherwise none of them would have original names thanks to Apollo.

Ares, upon walking by and hearing what the conversation was about, decided to join himself. "Hey, you guys talkin' about the episode of the 'exploding sheperd?' I saw that, from all the way at the Mycenai camp! Really weird. These strangely dressed woman were just talking to him, and then BOOM! The damn thing blew up!"

"I don't put self-destruct buttons on my automatons."he said, now looking through his mind. "With the contact of a human, it may have short circuited at exploded." He looked around the circle of deities. "My robots don't usually socialize with humans, certainly not that one. He was only there to herd sheep, not to fool around with silly mortals."

Artemis shook her head. " Yes but those silly humans thought it was a human more than likely and touched him trying to get information of some sort. You know humans aren't that bright at times."

"Ah, okay. Perhaps the mortals were foreigners, then?" Athena nodded, then looked over to the newest god to join the conversation, Ares. "That would explain the strange clothes, anyway. Did you see what happened to the mortals or did Pan summon a monster to get them?" The exploded automaton was of no big worry, to her especially, but Zeus was not the most level-headed person in the world.

Ares frowned to himself. "Not like any foreigners I've ever seen. Their clothing didn't resemble any country's idea of style, and this one chick had blue hair. Pan summoning a monster...? Well, there was this minotaur in Pan's sanctuary that jumped out of nowhere and attacked the poor bastards, but minotaurs aren't really Pan's style, you know? Seems more of the kind of thing you find in Krete, if you know what I mean. Remember Poseidon, and that one lady, what was her name, Pasiphae?"

Artemis raised a silvery eyebrow. " One of the females had Blue hair? That's a strange coloring on a mortal. Do you think she dyed it for some reason?"
