*Luke rolls his eyes at Luana.* If you hadn't noticed, you're not the only one who's skeptical about it, sweetheart.
*Luke turns to Cora.* Not when I tried it.

"Wait, hang on a sec." She turned around and gestured at Cora with the pizza. "Are you saying that I might have a power too?"

Oh, it's certainly possible. The Captain seems to understand what each of us is capable of, you might seek him for guidance. And I do suggest it... :::She avoided another mention of the impending threat the Seraphim posed, in order to continue her instruction on the matter:::
And there is nothing to be skeptical about. It didn't work the first time for me when I tried it either, Luke. But now, I've mastered the ability. Well... for one object at a time at least. Care to see...?

:::Cora looked to her right and her left , figuring out what looked suitably massive, but not overly, as this was a demonstration, and not practice. So she set her sights on the ping pong table:::
:::She turned to it, and clampe both hands on the edge of it. The lock mechanism on it's legs which keeps it upright nearly gave as it lifted relatively easily off the ground:::
hhhrup... This will do.
:::It was a bit disarming, to see a woman, even a fit looking woman like Cora, simply pick up a ping pong table so easily. But what she did next would put 'disarming' to another level:::
:::Cora pushed it off her shoulders, in an upward direction, so that when it soared uneasily through the room, its legs did not hit anything around it. Luckily, the brink had high ceilings....:::
:::Her fingers went rigid as she focused on it, and sure enough, just as it descended towards the end of the room, by the Millipede arcade machine, she stopped it dead in the air.:::
:::And. Just to impress, she slowly let up on the hold towards the one end of it, just so it would level out. It stayed floating:::
There we have it...

Luana's jaw dropped when Cora lifted the table. Super strength did not seem so improbable. When the table stopped in mid-air, however, she felt her balance starting to go. She leaned on the fridge for support, but didn't dare take her eyes away.
Oh, God in heaven... she thought to herself.
"How..." Her hands shook a little, and the color drained from her face. Was this the devil's work she was seeing? This unnatural power of hers? "How did you... do that?"
Part of her wanted to make for the door in the main room as quickly as she could. If this was witchcraft, Luana wanted to be away from it. But there was her angel. She hadn't thought of him for quite some time, and he would need to see this.
((OOC: This is Luana thinking, not me! Please, no angry PMs or IMs or other forms of Ms!))

*Luke looks upon Cora in awe.* Holy s**t, Slim. *echoes Luana* How ... Jesus, how long have you been able to DO this?

:::She couldn't help but smirk at their reactions:::
Well... I don't know how long, Luke. I live in the Brink of Time. I don't really know how long anything. But seeing as how, I live here, I do get a lot of time to practice.
It's quite simple really. The Captain told me that I was able to slow down time. But really, that doesn't seem possible. Time, in its planar sense is not like a wave, and its certainly not like air. You can't catch it with a net.
:::All the while she's walking towards the pool table, not far from the floating table. She's still got a hold on it:::
Time is only relative to that which you can measure it against. In this case, I'm using gravity. If I wanted to get serious, I'd stop the motion of the particals at the molecular level. But there's no need here really.
:::She grabs a billiard ball and tosses it to Luke, pausing it right before it's within arm's reach. It was now, that she looked like she was concentrating:::
So long as... I work with the flow of some sort of law of motion, or gravity...any equation that includes time. I can do this.

*Luke watches in awe as the pool ball slows to a crawl and then stops all together. It's like the ******** Matrix...*
*Luke reaches out and grabs it.*
*holding the pool ball in his hand, he looks to the ping pong table - still floating high in the air - and then back to Cora*
*For the second time that day, he's speechless.*

Luana took a few shaky steps to stand nearer to Luke, never taking her eyes off Cora.
She searched for words, but they didn't come at first.
"I know a way you could measure time here," was the first, indeed only, thing that came to mind.

:::As she saw Luke reach for the ball, she released it from her hold so he could take it:::
:::From where she was standing, she plucked the ping pong table from the air, also letting it go from it's hold. She carried it back over to where it first stood, and looked down at the floor there. She saw foor flat things... paddles, and she took them up in the talbes place. Unexpectedly almost, she looked at Luana:::
Really..? How do you propose that?
:::She licked her lips in effort, looking down at the paddles, and then placed them into spots in the air. She fashioned them in ascending order...all four:::

Luana gained a little more courage as she spoke.
"By building a time piece that depends on gravity to work. Like a water clock." Just thinking about her new pet project started to make things easier for her. "I started to design one a few visits ago."

*Even as Luana spoke, Luke was completely distracted. He couldn't take his eyes off what Cora was doing with with the ping-pong paddles.*
*to Luana* You think it could actually work in here?
