*eyes glitter* Oh, there is so much reaserch done on it, though most of it is with monkeys, because the one thing that would actually show what happens is called "The forbiden experament."
A ferral child is a child who is not raised the way the child should be. There are children that are found sometimes that have been 'raised' by animals, or that have been locked in dark rooms and maltreeted, and basically did not have their brains propperly stimulated when it was developing, and studying them helps us know what would happen if we were not raised by careing people. They study the effects of living mothers and touch and sensory stimulation on monkeys, to understand what happens to these children. Of course, the pure experament would be ethically imposuble, because then one would take a human child and purposfully handycap/traumatize/retard them by removing what a child needs to develop into a proper, self contained adult. It's an interesting topic, though sad for the children, so incrediably facinating!!!!! eek

*chuckles* I never read "see spot run" books, no, right after Word Bird, I was careening through Mysteries of the Modern World and Stone Hedge and The Pyramids and The Egyptian Empire and King Tut's Treasure and stuff like that. An odd child was I, and an odder adult shall I be! OH! and there was this one on the Burmuda Triangle, and on crop circles, and the one I would read again and again and again was about Pirates through the centuries, and I was absolutly captivated by mideval times. (still am. ^.^) *sighs dreamily* and then I read the dictionary, and an encyclopedia or two...(skipping the borring junk, of course) and books on animals (obsessed with zoo books!) and all sorts of wonder things! *blush* Though I be a solid christian and would never turn from the narrow path, after reading about maze dances, I long to dance the hedge maze...I'm positive that's what it is! Stone Hedge must have been one of the maze dances where celtic maidens would dance the paths and each path would lead them to another door and then they would see vissions of sorts....of course, I don't belive they actually saw vissions, but I do belive that the stone hedges were the doors through which the maidens thought they would see things. They've always captivated me unmercifully, (sometimes I would pretend to dance the maze in my backyard, but of course, I'd usually end up stepping in something. *this girl never wore shoes...*) and then when I grew up a bit, I learned that I actually AM a celtic maiden, and for a while it all made sence. xd But anway, facinating yet disturbing subjects have been my bread and butter since I learned my letters. One of my major subjects I became so obsessed with that my teachers would actually take my books from me was the holocaust....I dont know why, but I feel like I -need- to read each and every story on it there is....I never tire of staring at the pictures, or reading about the horrors...ever! It's sick, I know....but I can't help it! xp

Geba_00 razz I think consus should invent it...my science skillz were crushed to nothingness when a male science teacher told me I was stupid and made it clear he thought women should not be in science. Ever since then, it holds no light for me.... crying NO! i hate that! i jsut read an article in TIme about JUST that, ow they aren't enough women in Science majors and such, not because they aren't goofd enough or anything, but becasue they get pushed off of it by PEOPLE LIKE THAT at a young age. and since female and male brians develop different parts at different times, its not our fault. women develop the social parts earlier, and males develop the logical part first, thats why they like to build things and suc hwhen their little. it also went into saynig that women's brains are more connected, and that's why we're more liekly to show our emotions, or becasue emotionally attched to certian ideas and things from a young age. of course they all said it much more eloquently, and with more exact data, which isnt even grea,t casue its all a generalization, but basically it was saying that there aren't enough women in careers involving science, escpecially like higher math things, like pyhsics and what not. and me, since i persoanlly love science, i hate to read things like that. suppsoedley, its because girls as kids are pushed away from science, or their brains arent developed yet to understand it, so when they dont get it right away, they turn to hating it, and never try it again...tyope thing. the same goes for boys with language. now, no one get mad, these are all generalizations, and loose data, but tis still interesting.. its in the March 7th edition of Time. Go read it if u like that kind of stuff...the brain especially jsut fascinateds me, so of course i had to...but...yea, so that was my little spheil. so ill stop my now so it doesnt urn into a FULL out rant. 3nodding consus- crying isn't it for us all?

Mmm......^.^ I can't remeber the exact name of the occurance, but there's something that happens to females in the womb when exposed to extra amounts of the male hormon....(I don't know how it happens, and I'm not going to think about it. >.<) but what it causes is the femal baby inside it's mommy will grow somewhat like a male...like, the brain part. The brain will still be interconected like a females (and of course, the body is all female) but then the technical part will develop either just as fast or faster than the social part....it can cause extreem confusion with the gender roles, because the female child will want to take things apart, and put them back together, and be very tech minded, and her aggression will go WAY up. There are people who think that Joan of Ark was that way, and many other excessivly agressive females in history. ^.^ Me, I'm proud to be one! *does a little happy dance* but I"m not an extreem case, I still can't really put things back together....and the crushing of my science joy caused me to retreat to the arts, but dange it, I'M GOOD AT THE ARTS! 3nodding
