"I have had enough of these infernal things." Max muttered. He took an arrow out of his rapidly depleting quiver and used the sharp head to slice the sinew holding a small totem to a leather band on his wrist. He used the sinew to tie the totem to the arrow shaft, and got it ready to fire. As he drew the bow back and took aim at the skeleton's retreating head, he said a prayer under his breath. "Eagle help this One fly true, Bear give this One power, Ancestors make this One shine bright and dispel this dark evil."
The totem and arrow took on a soft glow as the last words were uttered, and Max released the bowstring. The arrow whistled through the air, flying faster and straighter than the others before it as it homed in on the skeletal soldier.

Trinity whistled at the shot "Nice shot." and gives a thumbs up to Max. The mark on the fox girl's neck pulsed a light which caused her to remain unconscious. She goes to the fox girl, her eyes were closed. Trinity checks for a pulse, there was one. "She's alive." she looks at the back of her neck was this what she removed from me? Is this why they were targeting her? "I'm not sure, but I think we need to take her to a holy temple, to a paladin, they may be able to neutralize the seal. I guess the mark, that was on my neck, was a way to track the target and until it can be destroyed he'll know where we are." she picks up Kerana. "I'm certainly not going to leave her like this, for some reason it's me he's after and she shouldn't have to suffer for it."

Max smiled as the arrow connected with the skeleton's head. The flash of light as the spirits displayed a hint of their power was enough to destroy the skeleton, as well as the arrow. Max was now down to two, and he needed another totem if he was to do that again.
"I'll carry her." He said as he walked over to the two. "You lead the way to the nearest temple."

Trinity carefully gave the fox girl to Max. "Unfortunately right now, your guess is as good as mine. I'm not familiar with this part of the forest."
Suddenly hands came bursting from the ground reaching for Kerana. "GIVE US THE MARKED ONE!" the voice seemed to be coming from them. Trinity gritted her teeth. "Max! RUN!" Trinity leads the way running away from the hands but more were beginning to rise. She starts thinking out loud, "One thing is for certain... this is the Necromancer's playground. Perhaps a war happened out here long ago and that's why he has a lot of fodder to play with."
She sees the others ahead, "GUYS! RUN!"

Max took Kerana, holding tightly as hands appeared from the ground. He jumped out of the way as one pair came up from under him, almost stepping right into the grasp of another. He side-stepped that pair and started running after Trinity, not having to be told twice.

Trinity kept running the edge of the forest was near. She couldn't tell if the others were following, she only hoped that they were safe. The hands were after the 'marked one' it wouldn't make sense to go after the rest of the party especially if she and Max have the one they want at least as far as the mark is concerned. When Trinity and Max stepped out the edge of the forest the hands stopped raising from the ground and started to stretch out like vines. Not far from the edge of the forest is a town, which looked like it had some holy protection. "Over there!"

Max could feel the hands coming up just behind his feet, giving him more than enough drive to run as fast as he could. The end of the forest offered welcome relief, but he still didn't waste his breath answering Trinity when she pointed out the town. He could sense the holy protection the town held, and tried his best to run faster towards it.

Trinity turns back just to see Max's foot get caught. Kerana fell from his hands as he lounges forward. She goes back for Max as he starts getting dragged. She uses the halberd that she took from an undead soldier and nails the hand that grabbed on Max causing the hand to let go. She could almost hear it squeal as it writhed in pain. "Hurry! We're almost there!" Trinity quickly picked up Kerana and starts to rush hoping Max will shortly follow.

Max never saw what got him. He tried to dig his fingers into the dirt as he was dragged backwards, but it looked like he was losing until Trinity cut the thing. He was back on his feet almost as soon as he was free, and started charging to catch up to Trinity.

As Trinity entered the town she felt rather under dressed. She was still wearing her torn tunic. Even though she was fit, she was embarrassed to show so much skin. She really wished she had something else to wear. She looked back and saw Max and smiled. She heads toward the nearest guard and starts talking like the captain of the guard she once was. "Soldier! Direct me to the nearest Paladin!" The guard saluted and started "Sir! Yes sir!? Wait... you're just some lady." he relaxed a little and took down his salute. Trinity sighed and shook her head but she really didn't have time to mess around and show him who's boss. The soldier was pointing in the direction of a building that had guardian angels at the entrance of it. "Over there." "Thanks" she said and she carries Kerana heading over there. She slows down as she hears people commenting on what she is wearing and calling her a "beggar woman"

Max felt foolish following Trinity. Everything his father had taught him about chivalry was yelling in his head for letting Trinity carry the injured fox girl when she herself wasn't in much better shape.
As they walked through the town, his ignored any sneers people muttered, and tried to listen for the market. He would need to stop by there and restock before they left.

Trinity tried her best to ignore the commentary of the people in the town. Despite the condition of her clothing, she had been healed earlier by the necromancer, for reasons left unknown to her at the moment. She tries to knock the door but needed to shift the fox girl's body so that she could reach the knocker.

Max stopped beside Trinity and knocked loudly on the door and offering; "Would you like me to hold her? I would think you would need a rest after what you were put through. I know I do."
(Sorry for the short post, I'll come up with something better soon.)

((ooc: no worries I don't mind short posts as long as the story keeps moving))
"Actually, I'm not as badly damaged when you last saw me. It's strange, the necromancer heald me...why? I have no idea. My only guess is to earn my trust or something." she looks down for a moment in thought. The battle earlier, running so much to keep ahead of the undead arms did not help with carrying the fox girl. She decided to take up Max's offer and gave her carefully. Kerana let out cute a little twitch as she settled in Max's arms.
The door was answered by a priest who adjusted his specs and asked,"Hello, how may I help you?"

Max took Kerana as carefully as Trinity handed her over. He smiled at her little twitch, amazed that she hadn't woken up completely when the hands in the forest made him drop her. "It is very strange." He said before the priest answered the door.
