I haven't named my sax... yet...
People will ask if I like band and I say, "HELL YES!!!"

U join a band nerds guild.
U get mad when ur yamaha lyer doesnt fit on ur lafette clarinet.
U say-"oh shoot!i 4got my drillmaster shoes!"

You cuss someone out who calls a sousaphone a Tuba

When you have a friend in a different band, that you make at a camp, call your sousaphone by name and say good night to it everynight like I do. 'Good night Fred!' *Smooch sound*

You stalk your band director and go through his mail to see when you're going to another band competition. (Not me, section leader)

You threaten the Guard to sit somewhere else because they don't play an instrument.

-You can often be seen wearing drill masters

-A conversation without mentioning band is nonexistant

-When getting new shoes, your preferences are band related(sturdy with lots of moving room, and a sturdy, not-flat heel)

-Upon getting said new shoes, by day 2 of wearing them, they have a rolled heel

-You get mad at a car for not being in step, moments later realize why a car could never be in step, get mad because of this fact and wonder why they can't, and then five minutes later have the same train of thoughts.

-You write stories about band during your down time(I wrote it! Love this website!))

-When asked to write an essay about whatever you want, you choose band.

-When asked to write a poem about anything, you write about band camp.

-Your english teacher knows that whenever they assign a no-preference essay/poem, you will write it about band

-When asked to write sentences for english, you write every one about your band, or marching band in general

-When telling a friend about what you do at school all day, they suggest setting up a tent in the band room, since you pretty much live in there

-You live in the band room(Two hours straight, plus an hour of lunch to practice regionals etudes. Surprised I'm not sick of it yet!)

-You realize that band geeks are actually mentally insane, and begin to believe band camp is in fact a way to cover up the nut house and make it look like it is normal, which it is not(think about it people, all we think about is band. You can't say obssession is sane! And I'm sure 90% of you say goodnight to your instruments and call them him/hers and by name.)

-You say goodnight to your isntrument.

-Upon dropping/bumping/neglecting your instrument, you apologize, ask it if it is okay, and then kiss it to make it better

-You consider a day of not playing your instrument neglectful.

-You have called cps because of the above, only to get yelled at because it wasn't a real emergency

-You make a list of things that make you a band geek

-Upon reading said list, you can realte to all of them

-You spend an hour reading other people's lists

-You try to match people n your band to people in a favorite book

-You do not know what the word "sleep" is.

-You get annoyed when the car blinkers are not in tempo with the music you are listening to.

-Yous witch songs because of the above, searching until you find one that matches the blinkers, only to realize that the blinkers have turned off by now.

-You can spend hours making a list of things that make you a bandd geek, but unfortunately have to stop because it is nearly midnight, and you have band in the morning.

Sadly, all of tese are true except the cps thingXD Yeah, my new shoes that I got two days ago have a rolled heel. i get angry at cars for not being in step. And i was in my mom's car, listening to music, and we got in the turn lane. Yeah, i got pretty pissed offXD

-When band parents are your dysfunctional family
-You named the band door(s)
-You subconsciously march anywhere you go
-You tap on or finger the desk/ table to your part of your show
-You know the local cashiers at Wendy's, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, or other fast food restaurants and they know you're with the band
-You look forward to mandatory band camp days
-You know the difference between a Mellophone and a Baritone
-You walk in step behind the people at school or Walmart
-80% of your stories start out with "This one time at band camp..."
-You actually remember your music from Freshman year
-You remember the march from then too
-Your least favorite phrase is "What time is it?"
-You smack the hands that touch the keyboards
-You know sticks and the bellybutton don't mix
-Carrying a 30lb bass is easy
-Carrying a 30+ lb sousaphone is easy as well
-You laugh at those who ask, "What's a C flat?"

Yep, these are all from me. I'm guilty of all except the marching stuff since I'm in percussion pit, but I still march in step with people. I'm not sure how much a sousaphone weighs, but I know how much the bigger basses weigh.

-When you make/read these lists

-When you're in this guild razz

-When you've looked up all your band songs on youtube

-When you've looked up all you're friends (who goes to a different school) band songs on youtube

-When you spend hours on a sight like Hal Leonard or JW Pepper imagining your band playing the songs on the site

-When you say, "Ow!" When you bump your instrument and then massage the place it got bumped

-When you laugh at people who don't understand, "What the E#!?"

-When you have dreams about band

-When your friends (even in band) think you're weird for having them

-When you can STILL play your songs from your first year of band, even several years later

-When your non band friends have to make "Band Rules" to make you stop talking about band

-When people are thinking about the band awards (you vote and give a certain person the award) and you say, "How about most band-obsessed?" And the other people say, "No! Stop thinking of awards for yourself!"

-When you have a countdown for band practice

-When you get upset that you're playing an easy song

-When Music Fest is more exciting than Christmas or your birthday

-When people are discussing how high they can play, you feel like you MUST show them up, no matter what

-When you can't eat out of excitement for every lunch time band rehearsal

-When you have to go to the bathroom before every band practice

-When you utter a little scream when your instrument case falls over, no matter where you are

-When your respect for a new person goes down when you realize they're not in band

-When you hate someone until you realize they're in band

-When you're proud to cheer in class, and endure the stares after the, "Band rehearsal after school" announcement comes on.

-When you can't go a day without thinking about band

-When your friends think you have a band, "fetish"

-When you get mad at your parents for not understanding how important band is for you

-When you literally drag your anti-band siblings to sectionals

-When you know and love the specific smell of band concerts

-When the sound of instruments tuning in an echo-y room before a concert fills you up with happiness

-When you have to go to the bathroom every time you think of music fest, no matter how long away it is

-When you realize that the only playing on the band trip is a workshop, and not a concert, you lose a little bit of interest in the trip

-When you listen to the band songs of the people in this guild and get jealous of not playing them in your band

-When you get really really mad at TV shows and movies that show people "playing" their instruments, but that instrument isn't even in the song, AND they're obviously fake playing

-When you've considered switching schools to go to one with a better music program/band

-When you ask your BD to play songs that are way too hard to play

-When you get mad at people who skip band

-When you could have band rehearsal all day

-When you hold grudges against the people who say, "Hey BD! We have to go, band is over!"

-When you're always the only one who votes to play another song at the end of band

-If you have an easy band song, you automatically hate it, unless it sounds really cool

-Whenever you hear another band play, you think, "We're better than them!" even if you're not

-If you're reading this long list and relating to all the points

I could go on for days making these, but it's lunch time, and I have to start studying for exams after lunch.

My teacher has a CD that she recommended we take to practice our parts with because it has our parts in it! So I took one and you know you're a band nerd when you take that CD and are listening to it while you post in the BAND NERD GUILD! lol And finger to it when you are driving with your parents. lol I'm so guilty. lol
