Private Lance Sikes 'Zero'
> ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY
>> Unknown Alien Construct; FOREST

Zero slowly moved to scout the area. Suddenly hearing rustling Zero dropped on his knees and took out his M6C pistol. Suddenly seeing a platoon covenant squad with five grunts and an elite moving slowly scouting the area. Slowly Zero reached for one of his grenades and pulled off the string with a clink to throw it over to the grunt squad. As it landed making a clinking noise, the whole squad turned to look as it blew them to pieces. Purple and blue blood everywhere. The explosion was loud and could be herd in the forest as it caught several covenant attention as Zero grinned. Quickly he shot two grunts that ran into the opening and a third one that came from the right. Suddenly an elite came out from a large bush beside Zero and knocked him over. Quickly it aimed it's needler at Zero and gave a smile.

A silent shot from close by got the elite in the head as it fell over. Quickly a marine ran over to Zero to help him up.
"You sure do know how to start a party don't you?" said the marine as he gave a grin and quickly turned around to pull his trigger and got a elite in the shoulder as Zero shot and got it in the head. "Where's the others?" asked Zero as he turned around to start shooting several grunts that now appeared. The area was lit with light from the gunfire and gunpowder in the air. "Their scouting up ahead! We should catch up with them or we'll have our hands full here soon!" said the marine to Zero as they both nodded and quickly ran straight. Going into the opening shooting several grunts that got in the way. Quickly they met elites and more grunts that got in the way. As Zero and the other marine pasted them, they followed after them. Before they noticed, atleast fifty grunts and elites were running after them.

Suddenly in the midst of running, four marines were lined up in an opening as they shot as Zero and the other marine was out of the line of fire. The elites and grunts were caught off guard as they were all shot, either wounded or dead by the thousands of bullets that they were hit with. Everyone stopped firing as the sergeant lifted his hand and reloaded. The sergeant then got up and activated his COM.
"This is sergeant Blake... Delta Squad in the vicinity... any marines out there rendezvous with us..." with that, several grunts appeared as the squad quickly got into formation and started to shoot any grunts in sight. Since it was getting serious, Zero placed his pistol back at his side and grabbed his MA5C from his back and started to hold off the grunts and elites.

Gunnery Sergeant Compton, Nathaniel
> ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY
>> Unknown

Compton climbed, struggling to make his way up the tree, he took one second to look over at the debris as it fell, it was a massive chunk of a Covenant Cruiser. Though the type of debris didn't matter in terms of how much damage it would do to the structure that they were on Compton was more than glad that it was Covenant debris rather than the a** end of the Sunrise. He climbed as quickly as he could but it wasn't as simple as he imagined it to be. Finally the massive hull crashed into the ocean that surrounded the island in catastrophic fashion. The bulk of the object crashed into the ocean and sent billions upon billions of tons of water flying in every direction, from where Compton hung it even seemed massive, despite being well over a few hundred miles from it. The object that crashed from orbit had suddenly disappeared as it compacted into nothing but dust in the waters. The tons of water fell to back down after it's travel up and through the sky down back to the waters below. After a few moments the very tree that Compton was holding onto began to tremble, the massive crash was causing the ground to shake from the concussive wave. Compton glanced off to the horizon where the debris had fallen and watched as a wave crashed to the shore and smashed against the cliff side, the wave sprawling upwards towards the sky. Thankfully however the sea wall held and the waves subsided, not capable of reaching over the cliff where he stood.

Unfortunately this was not true of the surrounding areas, including the beach. Any low lying land was immediately consumed by the massive wave, it knocked down trees, flooded over everything in it's path picking up ammo crates and vehicles. Anything in it's way for quite some distance was consumed leaving a good few hundred meters or so behind Compton to be entirely consumed by water. Compton now stood on an entirely new island thanks to the wave. Looking around he finally let go of the tree and slid safely to the ground. He landed hard and bucked to his knees, maybe free falling ten feet in full gear wasn't the smartest of ideas. He cued his mic, " Echo 1 this is Echo 2, survived the wave and am awaiting extraction, how copy? " Compton continued towards the beach, where the massive wave hit the sea wall and crashed earlier. As he approached the cliff he looked out to what once was a sprawling beach to what was now waves. He shook his head at the destruction that had occurred, sometimes it only took one small thing like this to cause a disaster. And those disasters took their toll, to Compton this was normal, but it didn't make it any less frightening at the thought of the severity of everything that was going on. The mass amounts of destruction and havoc that were occurring all in order to simply survive. It was terrible.

Compton was snapped back to reality when he heard the low drone of a Banshee's engines droning silently over the waves. He first reaction was to duck for cover but as the Banshee swooped in hovering barely over the water and sliding through the air slowly he knew not to panic. He knew exactly who was piloting the ship. " Good to see you Echo 1. " he called out over the radio, " Now can we get the hell off of this island? " The Banshee turned a slight bit before firing it's massive plasma cannon. The plasma bomb impacted about a dozen meters from Compton and exploded, tearing through a few trees and burning a small crater into the ground. Compton was knocked back by the blast luckily just out of the way of the trees exploding debris. The Banshee came crashing down into the crater and Compton coughed as the dust settled from the explosion, " Watch where you fire that thing. " the man who was usually at a loss for words was more than talkative as Mitchell stepped out of the Covenant ship, " Now be a dear and call for EVAC? I doubt they'll listen to me after my demotion. "

Mitchell slowly stepped away from the Banshee, eying to to ensure that it was still air worthy. He turned and acknowledged Compton by flipping him the bird and smiling, "
Why is it I can see this becoming a habit? " He asked with a chuckle to which Compton simply gave him a quizzical stare. " What is going to be a habit? " " Me saving your a**. " Compton's smile faded as he grabbed his comrades hand in a hand shake. " Real funny. "

Mitchell smiled and keyed his long distance radio, "
This is First Sergeant Scott Mitchell broadcasting on red channel requesting extraction. Repeat this is Echo 1, Scott Mitchell requesting extraction. Have I got any birds in the sky? How copy? " The few moments of static troubled Mitchell, there was no way that none of the Pelicans made it down safely. There had to be at least a few stragglers still afloat. He cued his mic one more time but just as he was about to speak a voice called out to him over the comm network. " I've got good signal and read you loud and clear. This is Pelican Zulu 214 reporting. We're headed for the Sunrise, going to clear up a few loose ends, fuel up and make damned sure that we don't leave there without Commander Poole. You feel like raising some hell sir? " the pilot sounded eager to jump back into the fight.

Compton jumped on the comm to talk to the pilot as well, cutting off Mitchell before he could advise the pilot otherwise, " Zulu that sounds like the best damned plan I've heard all day. " Mitchell punched Compton in the arm before he could continue on, "
I'm sending you our coordinates right now, Echo 1 out. " Mitchell turned to Compton, his dissatisfaction with Compton's outburst obvious through the clear visor. " Let me handle the talking from now on. " He sighed before turning off to the white washed ocean.

::: Corporal Formoe, Cole T.
::: Unknown Construct
::: Enroute to Regroup.

Even behind the opaque visor, Formoe's expression of disbelief was obvious in the way his shoulders suddenly dropped half a foot while he stood next to Kumar, freaking out for some odd reason. He felt like smacking her helmet just to see if it was screwed on tight enough. "I don't need a god-damned medic! I watched the b*****d run by and shouted out to him to grab his attention. Did you miss the class in basic about common sense?" He asked incredulously, staring at her like she had an alien latched onto her face.

"I couldn't shout out for a Corporal, because half the entire ******** battalion are Corporals! I shout for a medic and ten out of a thousand people turn their head." Formoe explained like he was trying to explain to a four-year-old why one plus one equals two. Shaking his head then turning away, he hoped that they were still close enough to at least maintain radio contact. "This is Personnel Formoe; cancel that call for the Medic. Personnel Liengod, respond ASAP."

][ sorry for the shortness, getting back into the game isn't as easy as I'd hoped... but with MW2 and all, who can blame me? ][

Kumar, Whitney // E-5
> UNSC Iron Sunrise
>> Whats happening?

"Now that I think about it, I feel a bit dizzy." Whitney was tempted to sit and rest, but if it was something like a concussion, she would probably fall asleep. The visor went clear so her face could now be seen, her eyes seemed lifeless. Her skin was no longer a healthy brown, it was more light tan and heck she seemed ready to be sick. "I don't think I am fit to lead you Rookie." Which she wasn't, ripping off her helmet to vomit on the ground away from Formoe just as she got the last word out, and started coughing a little afterward. She drunk some water from a flax she stored in one of her pouches. She felt a lot better, but wasn't sure how long that would last. She gestured her comrade to lead the way. "Just keep me talking, so I stay alive."

Kio watched as the private left, then looked to Cain. "C'mon, lets follow." He told him, moving into a light jog. He saw movement in the clearing ahead, and stopped to see who or what it was.
He stepped into view just as he received a message to respond from Formoe. He pulled off his helmet, so he could talk with ease.
"Right here." He told him, looking to the Private, Sergeant, and finally Formoe. "We waited for a bit, but you never responded. That probably why we were confuse-" The Sergeant suddenly vomited, Kio responded quickly by pulling out his medkit.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" He asked, walking over to help in case she collapsed.

Private Sullivan, Wren 'Hunter'
> ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY
>> Unknown Alien Construct; FOREST

Hunter came to a stop behind Kio just as the female sergeant released a burst of unmentionables from her mouth. She had prepared her right hand to remove her own medkit but ceased her action as the ODST quickly pulled his own out. The Private moved her right hand back up against her shotgun, settling her palm against its handle to relieve some of the weight form her left arm. Still, she was worried about the sergeant's sudden vomiting. Perhaps the woman had gotten sick, or maybe it was simply a natural reaction to her surroundings and the stress involved? Well, whatever it was hopefully she'd be over it soon. The woods were swarming with Covenant forces and it wouldn't be a good idea to stick around in one place for too long, considering the circumstances.

Kumar, Whitney // E-5
> UNSC Iron Sunrise
>> Feeling better now...

"I'm alright, it was just a bit of shock from crash landing. I am fine now Liengod." But she wasn't alright, it was an act that she would keep up until she was a burden worth taking care of. Whitney wiped her mouth, shoved her helmet back on and picked up the S-M7 from the ground after dropping it. She didn't even realized she did. Whitney looked around, seeing that she now had a small squad to lead, one was the marine she had talked to earlier. "Okay, I believe everyone would be heading toward the crashed ship. The LZ should be around that way." She looked up and down at Formoe, Liengod and then the marine girl. Whitney thought about what to do for a second. "Private, you and Leingod stick together like glue behind me. Formoe, you're in front. Go." She followed behind once he ran towards the Sunrise, also looking down making sure her weapon in her hands was ready to fire upon anything that wasn't human.

Kio listened to Kumar, but all the while watching her vital signs. As a medic, he had access to information about her body function and noticed the higher heart rate, blood pressure, and other indicators. Covertly, he opened up a private channel with her and cut the speakers that would allow the other marines to hear.

"Sergeant, I'm not going to undermine your authority and I will follow your orders, but as a medic, I want you to be careful and avoid the majority of the fighting. I'm not kidding when I say you could have a heart attack. If you begin to feel worse, tell me privately. And you might want to administer a quarter dose of blood thinner. It's a bit unconventional, but it should help with the heart rate and pressure." He cut the feed and reopened the outer speakers. "C'mon, Hunter, we've got the rear." He said and held up his M7. He remembered he still had the CAWS on his back. That could come in handy.

Private Sullivan, Wren 'Hunter'
> ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY

"Read 'ya loud 'n' clear, Kio."

Hunter raised her shotgun to the front of her, gripping it tightly as she checked it. When all seemed well, the private took a position near the ODST after the battle plans had been drawn out for the squad. She felt the dirt ground with the tip of her dirtied combat boots, making a crunching noise beneath her soles in the earth. All the nervousness and feelings of uncertainty in her gut and mind had faded away; she felt anew, but somehow was still the same innocent, positive, short little girl that she had been before enlisting in the U.N.S.C. Despite her height and the large, surrounding trees, Hunter felt larger than life, but she reminded herself not to get cocky.

Taking in the last bit of the calm within the bristling of the trees and bushes, Hunter picked up her feet and followed after Kio with a ready 'n' steady new attitude.

Commander Andrew Poole
> UNSC Iron Sunrise: Crash Site
> ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY

Silence. Nothing more, nothing less. The familiar hum of the bridge wasn't there. Nothing. Was he dead? Wait, no. Things were beginning to fall into place now. He could hear things. The crackling of flames, the faint whine of sirens. But nothing else. There was no COM chatter that he expected. No one was trying to contact them? Well, boy, did he feel appreciated. Not like he had just...nuked a Covenant ship, and landed--crashed-- his own or anything. Hell, he didn't even deserve a medal for what he's discovered. This...strange structure. Nah, just a pat on the head would be great. And he didn't deserve respect for being the youngest Commander in UNSC history either. Course not.

Poole lay in a heap on the floor of the bridge, a ways away from his seat. The impact with the ground had literally thrown him out of it. Quietly thinking to himself--thoughts filled with sarcasm, and confusion-- he didn't move for some time. Once he had finally finished with his mental rant, he decided to try and get up. Groping for the nearest surface, which turned out to be just the floor, he rolled onto his stomach, and tried to push off of it to help stand. Only when his eyes finally adjusted to the darkness did he notice that his arm was broken. Contorted into two disgusting angles. The sight of his arm seemed to set off the pain receptors in his brain, and the feeling shot through the entirety of the limb. Poole's teeth clenched down quickly, every muscle in his face tightened, and he screamed. That set off another wave of pain. But this one centralized around his ribs.

Great, were those broken too?

He was standing now, not sure whether or not to hold his broken arm, or his ribs. Contact with both seemed to bring pain. Blood oozed just slightly from the corner of his mouth and down his forehead. Making his way over to his chair, he tapped the screen and much to his surprise, it lit up.

Thank God.

As fast as he could with one working arm, he brought up all of the COM channels he could, reaching out to all surviving forces.

"A-All units," He rasped, voice hoarse and weak, "report in." It took him a second to remember the two crew members that had been brave enough to hang back and help him. Drifting away from his station, Poole discovered Nowicki, head smashed into his station, and Carlson still unconscious a ways away. But alive. He took a moment for Nowicki, then went back to his display.

"Evac needed as soon as--" Falling into a coughing fit for all to hear, he nearly slammed his fist into the nearest surface. They weren't supposed to hear that! He was supposed to be strong, physically and mentally. Like the Spartans. And now he'd just hacked up a lung loud enough for all to hear.

"...possible."

1stSgt Mitchell, Scott P.
> >>ERR.UEG_1707.TIMESTAMP ANOMALY<<
>> UNSC Iron Sunrise
>> Unknown Stellar Coordinates

The 1stSgt watched the Pelican approach from the southwest. Its shadow traced up the beach and eclipsed the sun for just a moment. Mitchell didn’t bother shading his eyes; his visor was polarized. The aircraft came to a stop two feet off the ground. He climbed aboard and helped Compton up.
”Pilot! Get us in the air and start circling the island!”

”Copy that First Sergeant, we’re moving.”
Mitchell turned to face out the open troop compartment and stood in the doorway, holding onto the webbing overhead. He chinned SQUADCOM and broadcasted on all frequencies.
”Echo team, if you can hear this activate your NAV beacon, we’ll extract you. I say again, if you can hear this activate your NAV beacon and we’ll pick you up.”
His faith in his troopers didn’t waver. The ODSTs were trained for situations where they were hopelessly scattered across a large area. None of that mattered though. He was getting his Squad out.

Kio continued pressing forward, watching behind the squad. He was unsure of exactly where they were going, and actually had no idea the Sunrise had gone down. He'd been stuck in his damn pod until one of those ape things had played knock knock. Suddenly, he was greeted with a most beautiful sound.

"Haha! Copy, Sarge." Kio said through the com, using his onboard computer to activate the beacon. "We've got a ride coming." He said with a grin to the ODST equipment-defunct Marines. Then, he realized it would be a bit difficult to get picked up with all these damn trees... Those... pines...

Man, what the ******** was up with this place?

Kumar, Whitney // E-5
> UNSC Iron Sunrise
>> Needing some rest.

"Wow, the COM is working, was that the Commander just now?" The visor went clear on the helmet to reveal a puzzled look. "Sarge, I read you load and clear. We need a good clearing for pick up." Whitney turned on the beacon. "NAV beacon is active, direct us from our position to a good clearing." She halted, waiting for the reply. She stretched a bit, checked her weapons, and drank some water after taking off her helmet. Then pondered Poole's message for a while, wondering how he could be alive for one, and second, sad to think in what condition he is.

She checked her gear quickly, making sure nothing was loose, drank some more water and then slammed her helmet back on ready to go.
