Zoey had already released Shay into her office, and she helped Reks lift Quin as the headed for the door. neither looked back, heading at a dead run for a safe place. there was no trace of them in a matter of moments.

Ragnor studied the others, not even blinking as the females took Quin and ran. instead he shifted to his human form, standing infront of the mirror as he bowed his head. he gave his wish silently.. and the mirror responded, a slim hand reaching out to touch his shoulder. there was no pain, instead he simply collapsed, his body disappearing into the mirror as the hand pulled him. death was finally his.

((Time for Cassus to return with a bang, my own anger currently will be fueling this so if you do not like to read descriptions of horrible murder then do not read the following post.))
Cassus sat in his throne, a women knelt a few feet away from him crying. She had blonde hair and fair features though she had the quality of someone who had been deeply lost in the world and twisted because she could not handle the coldness of others. She looked up at Cassus, her eyes were an ice blue, her lips rosy, her face pale as death with dark circles under the ice blue which seemed to suggest that she hadn't slept in days. Her arm began to twitch, then her hand, she itched her hair oh how she longed to pull it all out. She needed help, she needed her brother Cassus, but he would not. He passed judgement upon her, hateful and cold were the only words she could use to describe him.
"Catrina, you told me you would go clean. You said you were done."The rage was slowly building inside Cassus, his mind was everywhere and voices shot off in his head. "Kill the girl" they said, and it began growing intolerable. "Kill the girl, she's betrayed the family, she's betrayed you! Do it.. Do it Cassus!"
"You said you were clean and now this! How dare you soil the family name Catrina how dare you! I loved you, you were my sister. Now, now you are nothing. Nothing!"Cassus stood and the armor began to fall off revealing Cassus, a man, nothing more nothing less. He was tall, blond, and shaking with rage. In his right hand the sword he killed thousands of men with, the sword that was now his power, the sword that would wipe from the face of the earth his only sister.
"Brother, Cassus, don't do it. I need your help Cassus please! I know I've, Cassus no!"
"I loved you Catrina! Now you are nothing!"Cassus walked forward and picked her up with his left hand. She wimpered yelling for him to stop but it did no good. The voices chanted in his head "Kill the girl, kill the girl!" Cassus took a breath in and plunged the sword through her stomach and pushing his hand through to the other side. He ripped it back out and the blood came out of her like a ruby waterfall and he laughed, the deed consuming his mind with happy rage, the rage that would clear his family name, the rage that would purge this vile addict from the face of the earth. This was his destiny, this was his life now! She began to move, trying to get away the blood smearing on the floor as if to paint the white floor with a crimson streak. In an instant cassus sprinted towards her and lopped off her head sending it rolling along the floor to hit the wall. He breathed in once and then waved his hand, her body disappeared from the room, leaving Cassus, and the silence.

quiet clicking echoed from the path outside, Marie playfuly waltzing past the gate to her own silent music. the sight of the building made her pause, pressing a hand against the gate and studying the old mansion in wonder. her magic surged as she listened to the buildings energy, the cries of the lost souls here makeing a symphony all their own. spell bound she slid through the gates, swaying to the shadow music as she moved to the front door.. simply halting at the stairs and looking the building over in awe. this place was charged with death magic energy, it was almost intoxicating to be so near it. mentaly she reached out, her tone soft and playful as she asked. hello?

Cassus looked around, the armor was gone, but how. What was his desire? Could it have taken away the power of the mirror? No, he felt the power still, it was within him, the armor was under his skin should he need it. But what was this, a new person within his realm, and a lover of death at that. The doors opened and Cassus threw up his arms and his clothing changed to what people once knew has his normal clothing. He had a white dress shirt unbuttoned to a quarter of the way down his chest with an amulet showing that was of a wolf's head. He took a step forward and the Victorian slacks with boots almost felt strange to him but the magnificent cape that hung on his back brought back the memory of these clothes. It was white on the inside and black on the back with the same wolf symbol trimmed in white. On his side was the sword he used to kill his own sister and with an arrogant cold tone Cassus bellowed to the girl.
"Come in my dear, come and embrace the darkness in this place."

Nope. far safer out here. her light tone teased, though the click of her shoes belied her words as she entered the front all. it didnt bother her so much to enter this place, her grave magic growing stronger near the dead in the building. stubborn as always she didnt go to where the voice had come from, instead halting outside the door to admire a painting on the opposite wall. her lips curved into a smile as she added thoughtfuly. Embrace the darkness.. but does it embrace you back, sir? if not i cant see the appeal.

Cassus began to laugh, whether she wanted to or not she was in his power when she set foot on the steps. A gust of wind pushed her inside and the entrance shut behind her then the door disappeared all together. Then the other doors shut and the lights in the room she was in went dim. As she looked into the picture it began to change, as did the walls to human tissue with the corpses of men reaching out for salvation and one freshly killed women who looked like Cassus replaced the picture and stared out, tears flowing from her eyes.
"This is my realm, the darkness embraces whomever I wish. You are a creature of death, I can tell, join me and the corpses shall pile at your feet!"Cassus' voice was now distorted and evil with the heads of the corpses saying his words along with him.

Marie didnt fight as she was pushed into the room, hardly seeming phased at his tone or power. however.. for the first time a frown curved the corners of her mouth and she reached to touch the painting, her fingers stroking the womans cheek lightly as she whispered softly.. her tone mixed sarrow. bodies.. death.. these are your ideas of reward? death is a means to an end, bodies all that is left from creatures after they pass. the soul is what matters, sir Phantom, but i wish for none of these things. for a few moments she didnt say anything else.. though finaly she asked in a gentle tone. can i ask your name? it would be rude to keep calling you a phantom.

The images disappeared and Cassus began walking towards her.
"I am Cassus, and I don't offer death as a reward, but power, ultimate power. All my followers are given their highest desire. Souls, corpses, servants, slaves, anything you require, and all that I ask is your unyielding loyalty. My power will be feared throughout the world. Souls shall add to the number that created this place and my family... My family will be purified in the name of my father."Cassus clenched his fist and the armor began to grow out of his skin distorting his face to that of one of the corpses.

at his approach she backed away, matching each of his steps until her back hit the wall. she hadnt realized the door was gone before now, and she bit her lower lip to keep from striking out. only the slight bite in her voice gave away her temper, her chin raising stubbornly as she asked. what if i dont want power either? loyalty is earned, Cassus, and shared.. if it is given freely its value is less. it was a warning, her gold eyes defiant as she crossed her arms over her chest. she would not give her loyalty so easily, not to a man she had just met. give me a reason to fallow you, not pretty words.

The armor had now consumed his body and the only thing that could be seen were his bright yellow eyes gleaming out of the mask. She had begun to anger him and as he was about to draw his sword, he stopped. Perhaps he should show her the mirror.
"Fine, then take a look at this mirror. It grants the desires of all who serve me. At one time it was just an artifact but now, it is mine, impossible to destroy with mortal tools just as I."In the throne room appeared the Mirror of Eckanis. It had a gold trim but no glass, instead a white mist that spoke the desires of all who had used it in a child's whisper.

you are angry, but i fail to understand why.. the words were said quietly, but she locked her knees to keep from going towards the mirror. in all honesty she was tempted, but it wasnt in her to go for the easy road.. pushing away from the wall she pulled her gaze from the mirrors depths, looking up at Cassus as she paused infront of him. he could hurt her from any distance.. she knew that, and saw no point in trying to keep out of his reach. there was no anger, no bitter snap in her voice as she said simply. i would earn my desires, not wish for them without work. because.. without the labor of attaining them, i would not deserve my wish. i do not trust what is handed to me freely. Marie studied him for a moment, seeming to mule over a thought before adding. i am Marie.

Cassus waved his hand and the mirror disappeared leaving the two of them alone with a few servants moving about here and there.
"So do you wish to serve me?"The armor began to fade once more and the Cassus from before was now showing.
