The young woman entered the residential part of town. She studied all the buildings thoroughly, taking each last crack and ivy leaf into account. It was a dreary place. It made even Fate shiver. She strolled about a block and found a fairly decent complex of rooms. A small sigh escaped her and she wandered inside.

Upon entrance, she was questioned. After agreeing to house keeping and good neighborly terms, Fate was handed a key. One or two people passed by. They didn't seem to be in too big of a hurry.
Luckily, Fate's room was on the bottom floor. "Thank you undergods," she muttered gratefully as she unlocked the door. Her room was number twenty-one. Fate looked around. It wasn't too shabby. However, it held no resemblence to her old apartment. She shrugged and closed the door behind her.

Fate was glad to see that her "home" was furnished already. There was a couch, a lounge chair, a bed, and a LOT more. All the comforts she needed to get by and then some were provided. When she noticed a radio on the bar, her eyes lit up. Running to it, Fate turned it on with a switch. Static was all that could be heard. She frowned. Fate had never been good with electronics. Biting her lip softly, she turned a dial that said "STATION" in capitalized white letters. Within moments, she had rock flowing through the speakers at a low level; loud enough to satisfy her. With a smile, she jumped onto the countertop. It was something to take what had just happened off her mind.

Fate heard someone open her door, and pointed her index finger at the radio, shutting it off instantly. "Who goes there?" She could tell it was Kreigor, but it was fun to mess with people's minds sometimes. Fate looked over her shoulder and smiled a little. "How'd you find me all the way down here, Kreig?"

She became exstatic as he came inside. Fate jumped down and walked to him. It was sad being as short as she was. Fate had to look up to Kreigor. "Well, I'm glad you remember." She giggled. "I'm just complicated like that. Sorry about the inconvenience I caused."

Fate grinned, flashing her fangs. "If only we could all be as gifted as you, Kreigor."
She patted his shoulder softly. "It looks like she hit you..Do you want some ice?" A regretful look took Fate's eyes captive. There was a question on her mind, but she was reluctant to ask at this time. It didn't seem like such a good idea. "Or do you just want to sit down?"

Fate sighed a little and brushed her cool fingers over it. "I'm not sure, but I'm awfully sorry it happened." She looked around, desperate to lighten the mood. "But I won't ask any questions about that woman..this is none of my business." Blushing, Fate gritted her teeth and mustered the courage to ask her question at the most akward time possible. "So did you mean what you said at the bar, you know, about me?"

Fate blushed when Kreigor held her hand. "..Really?" She swallowed softly as he spoke. What do I think of him? Honestly? "I..I.." Mortis and she had been such good friends for many many months now..and that made things weird. But what you have to remember is that's not Mortis. It's someone totally different with the same memories. That was true.
Fate smiled warmly, her pale face soft and pinkened. "I think you are a wonderful man, and I'm so taken aback by you, I don't know any other way to say it."

Fate smiled sheepishly, unable to hold a gaze. She rocked to the side abit at a loss of words.
In her mind, Fate took that it went without saying things had gone sour between the two demons.
Now she would stand and wait for Kreigor to make the next move, if any at all.
