Curious...
Indeed...

*At the bottom of the pit... nothing. Just a big drop nigh on impossible to get out of. The corridor of trip light doom was exactly as it seemed.

Nothing else was gonna happen until Iden made a decision*

With nothing to look forward to at the far end of either route, Iden shrugged, and pulled an about face. If he had to go back to the fan crossing, then he would, and take the alternate route. Dead ends were a waste of time.

*A few more ticks, and as Iden turned about, a wall would come down in front of him.

Then another behind him.

And then the air started to fill with red mist to knock him out through the hole in his stomach*

Today's test is concluded CX537. Thank you for your input.

As soon as the first wall dropped, Iden was spinning and diving. In the end, his arms wound up under the wall as it descended...the rest of his didn't manage.

Loudly, he cursed, and started heaving with every ounce of strength he had upwards. He needed to get out. He would not let them pen him in again...desperation fueled him better than any amount of vitae could.

*They did not want a harmed test subject. For a few moments, the wall woudl remain trying to press downwards, while the NEXT wall along slammed into the floor, effectively hemming him but in a slightly larger area, and then the wall Iden was training against lifted, leaving him penned safely in the bigger box, which was steadily filling with the mist*

Please do not resist CX537, your continued co-operation is appreciated.

*The wall was flush to the floor and denied purchase, though in the office, more ticks and marks were being made*

Resistance is pointless CX537. In the interests of your well being, please desist aggressive activities and await transportation to your cell. Tests will resume tomorrow.

*The gas started pumping in faster, and some of it entertained his insides too now thanks to his desire to swear*

It wasn't going to stop him from trying his best to rip his way free. While he still had them, his disciplines were active, lending tremendous force to his clutching grasp. He would not go quietly.

Confirm for me the material of the walls?
ADNR replicant sir. Even GECKO'S cant stick to that stuff.
Good. If the subject EVER got loose...
An impossibilty sir. The Run is exytra secure for just such a reason.
Double the amount of gas.
Sir, is that wise? Or necessary?
Take him down NOW.

*And so it would be done. The walls simply were not designed to be bypassed once in place and would likely have held even Corbin himself, OR a Nothing.

Once Iden was out, it was back to his cell.
The process woudl repeat. Eahc day, he'd be stimulated and turfed loose in the Run. Data would be collected. Until the time came he refused to even try and progress anymore. Then, it was back to his cell and the foetus was re-implanted. The next day, back to the run. And so on. when he co-operated and ran the gunatlet, encountering steadily worse scenarios as time went on, he didnt have baby of doom to worry about. When he was unco-operative, he was forced to endure its presence for a few days again. And all the time, the Bane virus was taking hold.

Likely, it would only end when it got to a stage where Iden would not run and didnt care about what was in his stomach*

It hit that stage on the third time in the run. Having realized they would not allow him even the slightest chance of escape...Iden just stopped. When they hauled him off and forced him to have that thing in his belly again, he retched and raged and struggled until he was hoarse and exhausted. Then it was back to the run...and this time, he not only ripped the thing out, but ensured he would never be plagued by it again. Violently he tore it loose, and crushed it under his foot. When it was done, he sat, with his head in his arms, and waited. He knew they would haul him off soon; it was better than being forced to run like a rat through the maze. It was how he would hold on to himself. Refusal to give them anything; he was still in control of himself. As long as that remained true, he had hope, however faint.

*Oh how he'd be dissappointed when it was back to the cell... and the baby was back. With a vengeance. Had he really thought there only one? Had he really thought scientists with no morals such as these would not have cloned and altered and added and created?

One baby, one IV drip, total retsraint, 5 days. Then back to the run.*
PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 12:58 pm

THe scientists would learn what desperation meant. After the first cloned parasite was implanted, Iden was festering with hate. When it came time to throw him back into the run, he nearly broke loose.

His wrists were splintered when he ripped them free, and took a swing at the people wheeling him down the hall. It had been a close thing, that had prompted an immediate and harsh response. Iden, of course, was ignoring the injuries; he wanted to maim someone, and his legs were creaking horribly as he strained to be free. Pain meant little; he was dead set on ripping someone apart.

*All that happened following, was more care than ever in transporting him, use of full strait jackets and inhibitors used to manage him to and from the Run and in captivity.
The stakes were upped now with acids and all sorts to see how he coped before the virus started to impeed his optimum performances, and the scientists were getting some DAMN good readings... so long as Iden still fought*
PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 1:02 pm

So long as Iden fought....but he never fought in the run. After the first curb stomp, he'd stopped doing anything but sitting down and waiting patiently for removal. Any traps or problems they placed in the initial chamber would be stoically endured; Iden refused to give them data on his performances. The only struggling was his attempts to break free when the transport came, and even those ceased after two or three more days.

*Once it was apparent he would not play by their rules, they changed the nature of the experiments. For three days on the trot... he'd see not himself taken to the run, but rather, Roan taken past his cell and headed up to the same.
Invariably, she would be dull eyed until she passed his cell, at which point a flicke rof intelligence still remaining would show... then fade as they dragged her past. The noise from the run above could be heard even in the cells. It never sounded pleasant, and always she came back past him, HOURS later, bloody and wounded, unconscious*
