A wandering nurse noticed Cassandra's attempt at a flail; a good sign so soon, well on the way to recovery. Slowly, she began to check the dressings on the wounds, reapplying where necessary from the nose to her side, and giving a small tap on the cast on the hybrid's hand. The drip was locked in for another hour, the bag replaced and pulse checked. The small sticker was changed from yellow to Green 2, a sign that the pilot was fully stable and simply in need of rest.

A few short minutes after the tutorial, and Mynock Squadron was prepped and ready in the hangar bay, suited up and ready for the test run. They were only waiting on their instructor now.

To pass the time, Xaver closed his eyes, resting into the inside of his eyelids, and letting his heartbeat slow down to a reptilian crawl.

It was amusing, being in an Imperial Flight suit with all the Imperial logos removed as best as they could be. Now that he noticed it, most everything had the Imperial logos removed, which made him chuckle to himself. He had no great love for the Empire though, so it didn't really bother him. In the end, his allegiance lay with his wingmen.

Tahnk found himself quickly bored standing around in the hangar, despite the soothing feeling of his flightsuit. He hurriedly decided between making idle banter with his mates, or gathering his senses about him and focusing on piloting this brand new ship (to him at least) in the most professional and apt manner he could.

He went with the latter, sitting down and closing his eyes, making sure he was using his full range of Kel Dorian senses.

With a roar of ion exhaust the Skipray Blastboat lifted out of Hanger A and sped toward the Mynocks. It settled down to land beside them and the hatch hissed open. "Alright boys, come on in. Just don't chew on the power cables."

Grunting at the coy remark, Xaver nodded and followed the rest of his wingmen into the ship. Once in, he turned to the pilot. "Just pick a seat out?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 13, 2009 12:54 pm

"Yeah, you won't be sitting in one more than forty-five minutes anyway." The instructor glanced at the seats. "We'll set off on the familiarization flight as soon as everyone is settled in and hooked up."

Tahnk looked up, feeling completely rested and aware. He walked forward to the newly landed ship and looked the rig over with an admiring eye. He patted his CO on the shoulder with a small chuckle and moved to the ship with haste.

Time's a-wastin, Cap. I got a Gunner seat first.

Nodding, Xaver headed to the cockpit, sitting in the pilot's seat, while their instructor was standing behind him. Once in his seat, he pulled the safety harness on, and began running pre-flight diagnostics and the start up sequences.

The instructor tapped his comm link, "Flight control, this is Skip One, request clearance for familiarization flight. Leaving via Hangar A, estimated time till return, five-hours."

"Roger skip one, you're clear. Clear skies."

"Roger control." The Instructor nodded to Mynock leader, "Take us out."

By this time, the Fallen was done, and ready to take it out. Making sure noone was around to get hit, he sealed the door, turned on the engine and hover, and began to slowly make his way out of the ship.

Once he was clear, the engines were on full, and he was speeding along the predisgnated route.

So when do I get to give this trigger some practice?

Tahnk never could control his impatience, but this flight was taking too long without anything interesting. Asteroids, targets, or even some ex-fellow Imperials would do nicely. Not having to worry about flying and instead pulling a high-powered trigger could prove to be fun as hell.

The instructor shook his head as the rookie pilot spun the turret left and right looking for targets. "Just a second nugget, I'll plug in a simulation scenario so you can practice with that thing."

A moment later, four simulated TIE/Ln fighters appeared on the sensors and began zooming toward the blastboat.

Phase one of the automation was complete and the last battle damages had been repaired. Now the Engineers would run a battery of tests over the next few days on the Automated Systems to ensure everything had been installed smoothly before Phase 2 went into effect.
Now it was time for a break.

In the Enlisted ranks' pub located in the 1st terrace boward of the primary generator, Chief Hal Duine was guzzling back over half a liter of a stout, a unit of measurement oft lovingly referred to back on Corellia as a "pint".

"Sae thaur Ah wus," He declared to to the man sitting accross him, thunking the empty mug on the table. "oan th' Dee-Ess-One, tryin' tae make sense it ay some haf-arsed plans some so-called geniuses gart. Ah hud bin thaur fur months, up tae mah oksters in wookiees, convicts an' bureaucrats. Ah was gettin' bonnie boak ay it at thes point. But as Ah was sayin', Ah was tryin' tae kin these plans when Ah noticed 'at th' hin' hud only a body thermal exhaoost port. Jist a body! Hoo glaikit is 'at?! Sae Ah fin' th' heed engineer, thes wee dobber named Lemelisk an' Ah say tae heem swatch ye glaikit dobber, ye got a body damn thermal port fur thes entire station! That's a serioos problem! Anythin' gits crammed in it an' ignites th' thermal ventin' an' th' whole damn hin' will blaw lift high!"

The Chief took a break in his story and took a long draught of his freshly refilled mug.

"Sae ye ken whit he says tae me? "Gie back tae wark." Thes wee pissant hud th' balls tae ignair whit Ah hud tae say an' teel me tae gie back tae wark, th' cheil fa hud bin bustin' his back makin' his doodles intae somethin' 'at works! Th' oily wee dobber only has th' job coz he was willin' tae kiss th' emperor's crease. Aam thaur coz Ah can gie jobby dain! Ye dornt ignair a buck up thes big oan a job thes big! Sae Ah jimmy his coopon in an' dangle heem ower a body ay th' bottomless pits he was sae keen oan leavin' unrailed tae drife mah point haem."

"And then they kicked you off the project." Guessed the gray haired soldier sitting across from him.

"Nae afair Ah managed tae "lose" th' wark order tae instaa a particle shield ower th' exhaoost port. That'll teach 'at dobber tae listen. Assumin' th' Emperur didne feed heem tae Vader." Hal quipped as he finished off another pint.

The shuttle landed, and Harper quickly stepped out. He walked past the Imperial security around the hangar nervously, hoping they didn't have his profile anywhere. After looking at a map, Harper entered the Imperial storage area and handed the datapad with the forms to the receptionist. "Kolto?" he asked. "Who uses that anymore?"

"I imagine you do, since it's in your stores," Harper countered.

"We do, but only because it's right at our front door."

"Do you have some to spare, or don't you?"

"We do," the receptionist sighed.

"And the mechanical parts?"

"Yes, everything on the list."

"Good," Harper said, "have them sent to hangar eleven, our shuttle's waiting there." The receptionist merely grunted, which was Harper's cue to leave. He retreated from the building and returned to the shuttle to wait for the crates.

In orbit the tugs lugged four cans of Kolto onto the Modular Conveyor's hardpoints, while at the same time a second set of Tugs pulled a Type A Container filled with the parts requested into docking position. Mynock Two skillfully piloted the Conveyor to latch onto the can as the supply officer entered through a boarding tube. A second later he was back on the bridge.

"Next stop, the Resolve." The Pilot smiled as he requested clearance for departure.
