Parents were young when they had him, and stayed together until he was a foal.
After that, his father left with his sister to continue his travels and his mother raised him as her own. His parents hadn't agreed on how to raise a foal who showed early signs of a great imagination, so they thought it best to part ways as they had merely been attracted to each other, and that attraction had not blossomed into love before his birth.
His orb was a gift from a soothe-sayer when he was a young foal. She told him that, upon meeting his future love and great enemy, their eyes would glow red in the reflection of the orb.
He was raised near the coast, and his favorite thing is to hear tales from a soothesayer while smelling the ocean breeze.
Perhaps, it reminds him of home.
