Johnstone had to deeply suppress the desire to shout 'I get it!' He too listened with interest, wondering if the briefing would ever take precedence over eating. Not that there was a problem; briefing and eating would be fantastic. On the other hand, conversations like this could wear on, become uninteresting, especially when you didn't have much to say or didn't know what was going on.
Hmm?
Johnstone complied, sending a brief directed pulse in Jenny's direction. She'd be sure to notice it, but its intent was fairly clear; it was a 'what are you?' sort of call.

Jennifer, being very unused to magic, almost fell out of her chair as an unexpected-- but not unpleasant-- little zing went off in her head. It was somehow questioning, but that really wasn't what she was thinking about just then. What the HELL was that?
Nice of you to join us.
What should I do?
Jenny did exactly that, blinking her eyes in innocent confusion that she didn't have to fake. Her eyes flicked over the newcomer, and--
What?
<... I'm not sure. It's just... Odd. ... You might want to leave. Discretely, of course.>
Leave? Why?
UGH! You are NOT helpful, Alden. AT ALL.

Moses chuckled.
Let's not engage in WIFOM thinking, Moses. She was confused, we know that.
Which is?
Back up, how do we know she's Resurrected?
We react how?
Right.
Johnstone smiled pleasantly back, still munching on marmalade'd toast. No more mysteries here for him. He knew what everyone was, if not necessarily what the new Resurrected was good at. That was a bad wildcard to have, but he'd find out before it got critical. No questions.

Anolani wanted to laugh at Jennifer. Just alright at martial arts? Me thinks the lady doth underestimate herself too much. The toned muscles showed Anolani that Jennifer studied martial arts quite seriously. Or played a sport seriously. Instead, she raised an eyebrow. It didn't rankle Anolani that Jennifer was lying about her abilities. After all, she was doing it herself. But she was curious about what the strange look towards the newcomer was. "You feeling alright?"
Although she was talking to Jennifer, she was watching Rose from the corner of her eye. She found the werefox adorable. Quite attractive. Enough to seduce? Maybe. But think I like her too much to just use her like that. Who knew? Maybe one day the two girls would wind up in some situation that would reveal some sort of path towards something further than friendship and cause the RPers to nosebleed at future posts.
Until then, Anolani would continue to play with Rose's hair and see what the future would bring the two girls. Something tells me it's going to be an interesting ride for us.

Ele, you are now required to post content here because if I delete it, the posts-per-page gets jacked up.

Nothing was happening, so Victor kicked over his chair and said, "Man, I'm so bored. Can we get this show rolling, or is that too much to ask?"

A door on a wall perpendicular to the entrance to the dorms opened; a seven-foot-tall man who looked like his muscles had muscles walked in, clad in black cargo pants and a loose black tank top. He glanced around with his left eye - the area around his right eye was heavily scarred, and the eye was squeezed shut. "I need the vere- the weregirl's claw equipment. She here?"
Anyone in the Cabal who was in full possession of their mental faculties knew him - if it was not betrayed by his enormous stature, it was given away by his right arm - the forearm was hollow, a brilliant light glowing within it - bars between the metal sections at the beginning and end of the hollow area slowly spun around the luminescent core. The fist, too, was metallic and quite large.
Agent "Skullcracker" Gallagher, the Avatar of a Machine God, who granted that arm - the Colossus - with which he had fought against Coven legend Joe Simpson in Beijing several decades ago. He didn't really look any older than in the records of his appearance then, but his accent seemed to have largely vanished.

Johnstone stepped back at his introduction. Gallagher. Insanely powerful? Absolutely. Dangerous? Incredibly. Impressive? Only mildly. Johnstone knew who he served, and what that meant he did, and that was... not impressive. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and this one... well, his power wasn't absolute but it might as well be. Johnstone took a moment to consider what it would take to make him change his stance, when the inevitable civil war came. But no - that was planning much too far ahead. Likely, Johnstone would never even get the chance to see his plans come to fruition. Lay seeds.
What was Gallagher doing here anyway, on this ship?

Victor turned to look and winced. "Put that away," he muttered, waving a hand at the (to him) brightly glowing arm, the Colossus. "And what are you do here anyway, on this ship? I thought you'd be doing more grand things than asking new recruits for their equipment. And when the Hell are we getting underway, anyway?"
Victor was getting very impatient.

Gallagher nodded at Victor and moved the Colossus behind his back; a dim glow still showed through his body's dully reddish iron-tinted mana. "I'm your... well, in my official capacity I'm this ship's engineer. Unofficially, I'm keeping this investment - the Dominator, that is - safe, since the Colossus can take over the whole ship from any point on it. As for why I need her equipment, I reviewed the records of your..." He spoke the next word with distaste. "Test... so I'm bringing it down to Corbin's personal thaumaturgy workshop to get some proper enchantments on it. Once we're done, it'll be suitable for combat against the Hiveling swarms, as well as anyone who comes to their assistance."

"Hivelings?" Victor said with sudden interest. "Is that what we're doing here? We're gonna squash some bugs?" He rubbed his hands together and the shadows around him rippled ominously in his excitement.
"Oh, and thanks," he added as an afterthought, nodding at Gallagher's arm behind his back.

Gallagher nodded. "Squash some bugs and capture a queen, to be specific. Did the captain forget to tell you?"

Anolani left temporarily to get some water. She sat back down beside Rose and played with the water using her left hand (she rested her head on the right hand).
"I'd really like to get more details about our mission. Or have the briefing that we were supposed to have by now." She sounded bored but there was a slight amount of annoyance in her voice.
