Rey got up, and in a few rythmical movements of his hands, stones jutted out, forming a table over the fire. The thinner slab of rock heated quickly, as Rey took the meats out and spread them over the smooth stone surface. The smell was so inviting, so good, he had to sit down, lest he would be tempted to eat the meat immediately. It had been so long since his last good meal. Always being on the run had that effect, among other consequences...

Lia removed the boiling water, her hands wrapped in the skins to protect from burns, and added the herbs to it, rubbing the others into the meat and around it to roast. As tea herbs soaked, an envigorating smell wafted from the hot liquid. She rummaged through nearby homes and produced cups and bowls for all of them.
She sat down by Rey, a cup of tea in front of both of them, and turned into her cat form.
"We shall let them sleep until their plates are ready," Lia said softly, looking down at the two. Without noticing, her whiskers gave a slight twitch at the sight of the elfing.
The child has lost so much. Her mother and father might have been consumed by the shadowlinge, but her clothes seem different from the others. Perhaps her family is elsewhere, but if she is so far from home, then...
Shaking her head, she began to clean her face and paws. She then took a quick drink of tea, and curled up, watching the fire.

Kitrine felt her body awaken. Her sleep had been dreamless and hadn't lasted long on the floor. She was used to better beds, anyway. Certainly better than the ground. Her eyes fluttered open. She was in an unfamiliar place and once she was alert enough to register that, she shot up and looked around wildly. Her neck hurt a lot and she brought up a hand to massage her neck. She looked at her clothes. Still on. Good. Her secret of her true gender was kept safe.

Rey looked at the girl with wonder. - Why is she so nervous? And what's with the wardrobe check? Was she afraid of being raped while she slept? Well, I can't blame her. I've seen so many bad things through my travels.
Hey! Uhm, kid! Settle down, will you? You won't be harmed. Just take it easy and sit down. You don't want to get up too fast and go nauseaous. Want some tea? - He offered his cup, even though he thought it would be offensive towards Lia, him not drinking the tea. He was meaning to apologize, but he dismissed it, maybe it wasn't that important to her. Besides, the girl seemed to need it much more than he.

Lili was still smiling when she woke up. In the absence of free shadowlinge, the world just felt nicer. It was warm too, and that was nice as well. She took a deep breath of the air to give herself energy. Then she jumped up and stretched happily.
"Safe, safe, safe!" she mused. "But...I'm hungry." sweatdrop

The elf woke up again and discovered that he had no idea who or where he was. All he knew was that there were bodies on top of him that reeked of death. Almost overpowered by it, he pushed his way out of the bodies and stumbled off over them, his hair flowing behind him. He closed his eyes to capture a memory.
"Kuroshi of the elves," he said, "that's who I am. my specialty is healing. I wish I could bring back all of them from the dead, but I guess I can't. There is no returning from death."
With his eyes still closed, he considered the present. His ears caught the sound of people talking. So there were still people alive. Keeping his eyes closed, he let his ears guide him to the place, until he ran into a stone slab rather hard.
"Owwwwwww...." he complained, as he opened his eyes. It was a rock hut. He realised how many dead bodies he had just stumbled over.
"Maybe I can ask them how they got there," he said, as he stood up to enter the shelter.

Duna had disappeared into the forest. While the Elvish-Shadowlinge would be a tough battle, he had bigger fish to fry.
'Mmmm, fish" he mumbled, his tummy rumbling a bit.
He had felt the presence of something far more powerful than could be contained by the young ones.
He raced around trees and rock outcroppings with deftness and speed, his claws tore into the ground like razors, propelling him at high speeds to his goal.
He could feel something stirring in the cave beyond the hillock with the dying trees. In fact, once he passed the top of the hillock, the bodies of small forest creatures began to line the browning grass. Even the flies and other insects lay in clumps, frozen in death.
He sniffed, and turned, ducking behind a boulder as he felt the overpowering aura of evil hit him THROUGH the rock.
His body felt like it wanted to collapse, but he pulled energy from the crackling humid air around him, and felt his core grow hotter and full of energy.
He burst forth from the rock, dodging blasts of....evil wind, from what he could tell. It was clear, but it seemed to crawl with the death and decay. He could feel his whiskers growing white when he was unlucky enough to catch a whiff of a blast to his left.
He roared loudly, sparks flying from his mouth, crackling over his teeth.
"Nah'haran schnecken ich ravast!" He screamed, invoking an Old Magic spell, and hurling an energy barrier from his mouth.

Kitrine sized up Rey. He was a lot bigger than her, but it really wasn't hard to be a lot bigger than her. She wasn't that big to begin with. She timidly reached her hand out to the tea. She took the cup, sniffing it. It smelled nice and relaxing. She took a sip. It was wonderful. She inhaled the rest of it before answering him.
"Who are you?" She asked simply, taking a leaf out of her older brother's book and refusing to give her name until he gave his. She still looked like a boy to them...right? She hoped they wouldn't find out...she really didn't want to be treated as inferior or weak because she was a girl.

Rey was surprised. Was his appearance that dreadful? Or was the child paranoid. He decided to answer truthfully. - Me? I'm tired. Seriously, exhausted, after all that purification. The name's Rey. I'm an Earth Dragon Hybrid. Usually, people who ask for names identify themselves first, but I'll let this one through, since you seem slightly paranoid at the moment. Just drink the tea and sit down. Rest, because I don't know where you live, and I don't plan on accompanying you anywhere.
He was normally good with children, him being the oldest in a numerous family, but at the moment he found the child's attitude annoying, and all he wanted was to eat, maybe have a conversation with Lia, and sleep.

Kitrine felt herself relax a bit. He was no danger. It was obvious to her that he was a good person, what with saying he purified them of the...darkness, whatever it was. She sat down, body relaxing visibly. She felt calmed by the tea now. She felt a lot more relaxed. Her initial paranoia was mostly about her ordeal, her reaction at being able to finally move and possibly being attacked. Now she saw he wouldn't attack her.
She smiled quite kindly to Rey. "I'm K...Raleigh of the North," She said, quickly covering up her blunder. She was hoping by half a chance that the dragon hybrid wouldn't know...Raleigh was her alias for the ignorant elves who thought her male. "Where are you from?" She asked.

Well, K-Raleigh... - He said,a smile on his face. He knew that wasn't the child's real name, but he didn't need to know, nor did he want to. Those were complications he had nothing to do with, and he planned to see it stayed that way. He continued in a relaxed tone. - ...I'm not one to discuss my origin. I'm not going to tell you, it'll only feed your curiousity.

Kitrine got a bit of a pouty look on her face. "Fine, be that way," She said, being feax-pouty. Then she smiled. "Fine, if you don't want to tell me, that's your prerogative. Whatever floats your boat is fine with me, so long as it's not causing harm to me." She downed another glass of tea and got herself another one. She did feel quite a bit stronger now.
