"Fly?" Alaera repeated. She hadn't considered the possibility before. Unfolding her wings, she flapped them lazily up and down testing them. "You know, I vaguely remember flying around when I was little but ever since I started living on the island again I've not used them for much other than gliding. Always kinda considered them to be a bit of a nuisance, honestly" she admitted looking back to watch them carefully, trying to get a better feel for them. If she was going to use them to fly, they'd have to get better acquainted. "They aren't much help climbing trees and I happen to live in one. " She chuckled and smiled back up at Ivy.

"My name's Alaera by the way. I take it you can fly? Think you could perhaps remind me how to use these things? I don't think jumping off the edge of the ravine and hoping for the best would be a great idea." She grinned at the woman, the idea of flying actually rather exciting her.

Sally started to laugh uncontrollably now and before long, unable to stand, she sank to her knees in the sand. It took a moment or too but eventually she got control of herself and both the crying and the laughing stopped.

She sighed heavily still coming to terms with her loss. A coldness was seeping into her body though and she looked down to discover that she was much closer to the water edge than she had realized and had been sitting amidst the waves, her lower half soaked.

Rising and brushing the wet sand off, Sally finally realized where she was. Looking down further the beach she saw Hula Bob surrounded by what must be his family (he wasn't joking when he said he had a lot) and behind him sitting crookedly on the beached as though it had been washed ashore, was his bar.

Oh no! Not his home too! She crossed the space between them quickly. "Hello Hula Bob. Seems your place didn't fair very well either. Do you know what happened? Was it an earthquake?" As she looked around at the damage and at his loved ones gathered near, Sally couldn't but help wonder where her loved ones had gotten to and if they were safe as well.

Calder continued to wade in place, his tail flipping against the current to keep his chest and head above water. A blast of briny wind blew around the curve and down the canyon. His eyes stung at the salty blast, and his hair flapped awkwardly as the ends were still heavy with lake water.

A million questions were running through his mind as he reached to push his purple hair back behind his earfin. What would his mother do if he went off and was killed? Would he be a ghost? He wondered briefly what ghosts ate.

As the naiad was lost in a metaphoric sea of his own thoughts, passing debris once a tree limb stroked along his back as it passed by. The male spun wildly around in terror assuming something huge and nasty had decided to ambush him. Of course, there was nothing directly behind him.

Seeing the limb he chuckled in nervous irritation. Content that he was safe, Calder started to turn back toward the canyon when he saw something else... a pair of bright blue eyes framed by dark hair. He gasped to himself. A MONSTER! He was being hunted after all! Being the brave and manly naiad he was Calder did the only logical thing. He turned like a sissy and fled into the canyon in a raging panic. Only one thought remained on his mind: Holy shiiiii..........

"Nothing, I'm fine. I just want to watch you." Noel said with a smile. She didn't want Aysu to know she was said about the snow. Would it snow again now that the Isle was a tropical paradise? "I love watching you swim is all."

**

Aspen laughed as the rounded on the HQ. "Looks like we're not the only ones coming here for answers." He saw his Mom talking to a girl and he saw a few others he didn't know.

**

Cutter nodded, "Yeah, I've been there a few times. It was a good place to rest or eat. They have rooms that just appear with whatever you need in them." He knew a few pae chose to live there, but he liked to just use it from time to time.

Cutter saw the other male and hoped the girl didn't get scared as he hadn't been there before, if Cutter wasn't mistaken. "You're welcome to join us."

**

Ivy giggled, "I"m Ivy and I don't fly a ot, only when I really need to." She liked to stay on the ground as much as possible. She flapped her wings and like them take her up a few feet. "It's not hard to remember how, just start by flapping them."

Waikiki KiKi looked Zuri over. "I don't....know." This was something she had never seen before. Why had his skin done that? He was a Naiad, a water creature, after all. The water was his home why would the ocean hurt? "Maybe we should get you to the Houses of Healing?"

***

Hula Bob looked over to Sally and nodded. "Yes, I'm afraid the bar has had...some problems this morning. Bummer dudette, you too?" Hula Bob wanted to know what had happened to her home as she did say 'either'.

Hula Bob then went on to explain what happened as far as he knew. "The island was 'fell' from the sky and landed in the ocean. I guess the Guardians did it. There is a note on the HQ."
PostPosted: Sun May 31, 2009 10:26 am

Zuri laid down in the sands, pained. He wasn't sure he understood. So apparently the salt water wasn't good for him, but if Aysu was over there just fine, why was he affected like this? Was it that stupid dolphin again? Why hadn't he gotten anything beneficial from that mysterious visit? The naiad groaned, slowly bringing himself back to a sitting position.

"I kind of just want to get back to the lake." It might've been a better idea to go to the House of Healing and figure out what exactly was going on with him, but he really just wanted to get back into the fresh water. Maybe the fresh water would make all of these ugly, itchy, burning hives go away. ...Or he might just itch them off. Zuri was back to raking his skin in an attempt to get the itching to stop.

-----------

She believed that much, but Noel had looked sad before. Something just didn't seem right about her excuse. Aysu shimmied up to the shore, lifting her top half out of the water and leaving her tail resting in the sands under the water. "Noel, are you sure you're fine?" The naiad understood if Noel really didn't want to talk about it, but the naiad also didn't like seeing her Ice Queen sad.

Aysu looked up to Noel hopefully, hoping that she was alright--and if she wasn't, she would share why she wasn't alright.

-----------

Okeanos sat and watched a strange Pae'il walk over that looked like a pumpkin and start talking to the guy who's name reminded him of a dance and start talking. Stupid emotional adults. The naiad decided that they were all dumb and he wanted to do something different. Despite the fact that his older brother had told him to stay put, Okeanos launched himself into the ocean and swam off so far that Criofan wouldn't be able to see him if he came back. Ha, that would show him for being an annoying adult.

...Even better, Okeanos decided to duck under the water and start swimming towards the bottom. This would be fun! The mischievous little naiad seemed to think this was a game, even if no one was chasing him around.

"Okay, then let's go." Waikiki KiKi held out her hand to Zuri to help him up. She didn't want her friend to be in pain anymore. What's more this was her fault. She wanted to see the ocean and she wanted to go for a swim when she knew he didn't really want to. KiKi was feeling pretty bad about it now.
PostPosted: Sun May 31, 2009 10:42 am

Zuri grabbed Waikiki Kiki's hand and pushed himself up, groaning a bit because it hurt far more than necessary to get up thanks to all of itching and burning. Though she thought she should feel guilty, Zuri felt guilty as well. He really should have just stayed at the shore. Then he wouldn't have had to pull Kiki away from all the fun she was having in the beautiful water. And, of course, his skin wouldn't look so... disgusting. The hives and the purple hue his skin had taken on really burned. Something was seriously wrong with all of this.

The naiad let go of her hand and looked away. "I'm sorry," he mumbled with a sigh, apologetic for causing her to leave. He hung his head as he started forward, not really wanting to take Waikiki Kiki away from the water. "You can stay here if you want." The naiad wasn't fond of being alone, but he didn't want to make her leave, either. He'd feel a little too guilty about that. "It's not your fault the salt water doesn't seem to like me. I'll see you later." He offered an odd, uncomfortable smile before heading off towards the lake.

Noel reached down and put her hand under Aysu's chin. "I'm fine. I'm happy that you are happy. It's so beautiful, how could there be anything wrong?" To reassure her she dipped down and gave the kiss a soft kiss.
PostPosted: Sun May 31, 2009 11:14 am

Aysu returned the kiss. Well... alright. She seemed happy enough. "As long as you're sure." The naiad smiled back at Noel before swimming out to the ocean. She wasn't so sure that Noel was in a perfect mood, but she seemed happy enough and the naiad didn't want to make her more upset. Perhaps they could talk about it later if there really was something wrong.

For now, Aysu would swim in the water and look at what was there. Everything was so beautiful. She loved all of these fish, and couldn't help looking for one whose color was similar to hers. The Guardians at least had somewhat of a good idea, especially since they had put them in a nice, undisturbed place that looked so beautiful. The naiad could get used to this... hopefully, her Ice Queen could get used to it too.

Waikiki KiKi shook her head and took Zuri's hand as he walked away. "That's okay. It's not going anywhere. I want to make sure you are okay. Anyway, it's pretty and everything but I grew up at the lake...it's home." She smiled to Zuri hoping to make him feel better.

"Oh, I am." Noel said with a smile. She didn't want to her her love's feelings. She did think it was beautiful, but she was going to miss the snow greatly.

Noel dug her feet in the sand under the water and smiled as it was very cool underneath. She watched Aysu and giggled at the joy her mate had found. She was sure in time she would love it just as much. Noel looked down at the water and floated her hands around the top to see if she could freeze it and she did, just a skimming on the top. "Interesting..."

Up in the trees there was a noise...a snoring noise. Upon closer inspection there is a green pae hanging upside down from a branch snoring away.

"Wake up" BONK! A squirrel appeared and threw an acorn at said sleeping pae.

"Huh, wha?" Woobie sat up and looked around. "Why?" Last thing he remembered was doing flips from tree to tree. He swung up to a sitting position. He looked over at Lieutenant, the squirrel. "What happened?"

The squirrel shrugged, "Don't know." Woobie was the only one who could communicate with the squirrels so they saw him as a commander. "The Isle is different.

"Really, let's see..." Woobie got up and starting jumping from tree to tree to see what was going on.

The naiad felt his face heat when the angelic teenager grabbed his hand. That was an odd feeling. Zuri shook his head slightly in an attempt to rid himself of the heat in his face--not that he particularly wanted the feeling of his skin crawling back--before he turned towards Waikiki Kiki. "Well, alright." If she wanted to come with him, he wasn't going to protest; the naiad was definitely a social creature. He fell back so he could walk with her, though he still wanted to get to the lake as soon as possible.

After a few moments, the naiad offered a, "Thanks. You know, for coming with me." He smiled at her, before becoming distracted by another terrible itch. He started raking his not free arm with his free hand. The other hand was still occupied with Waikiki Kiki's hand; he didn't seem to think of letting go of it. "You could have easily just stayed back there," he offered, in-between the various noises he made while itching his bad arm.

-----------

Aysu decided to explore the underwater, dipping below to the bottom--which wasn't all that far, considering that she hadn't gone too far out. The rocks down there were so interesting. She plucked up a rock which was smooth and shiny. It was a dark red, and Aysu found herself absolutely fascinated with the sparkling rock. Were all underwater rocks like this? Some of the seashells looked equally as interesting. She picked up some of the more interesting ones with the intriguing designs and turned them over and from side to side, observing every little part of them.

She came back up to the surface with a few of the shells in her hand, planning to show them to Noel. However, she saw her Ice Queen turning the water near her to ice. Aysu chuckled. It looked like her Ice Queen could get some of her snowy world even at the beach. With a smile, Aysu ducked back under the water.

Pastela yawned and stretched out as she slowly woke up. It had felt like she'd been asleep forever, but really it could only have had only been a few hours. Slowly she sat up, feeling as if though there was something different about the air around her. A breeze drifted by her, causing her to stretch her wings out to feel the wind underneath her feathers. "Ahhhh, what a beautiful day.... though something doesn't feel right...."

Slowly she stood up and looked around, wondering what could possibly be making her feel as if something wasn't right. "Well... no sense trying to figure this out on an empty stomach...." She sighed, going into the forest to search for something to eat. She silently wondered where her brothers all were and if she'd ever see them again.
