In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance... ... In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.

Ignoring that the Stormtroopers are using far better weapons, have armored and shielded walkers and are backed by a fleet of Star Destroyers, the Nazis don't stand a chance. Blasters will burn through their clothing, whereas their bullets won't penetrate the Stormtrooper armor. So says the mighty Wookieepedia.

Wookieepedia article on Stormtrooper Armor It was almost impossible to kill a stormtrooper with a slugthrower unless the bullet was abnormally large, specifically armor piercing, or if it hit the body glove or visor. Slugthrower = regular gun in the Star Wars universe. The bit about Stormtroopers not being able to hit a target only applies to main or important supporting characters.

1. It still looks like the stuff used to make PVC pipes.
2. That futuristic armor doesn't protect worth d**k against blasters which seems to be the weapon everyone uses. Why make an armor that protects from bullets when everyone uses plasma weapons? All that does is save you from little kids with rocks.
3. I don't recall the armor specs ever being mentioned in any of the movies. If it's in one of the books then I guess that explains it.
4. Stormtroopers aren't real so really this is all a moot point.
