There had been a long delay in the message given to her ear, but soon enough the calling of her name reached her. It was then she fully snapped back into reality, taking in the position she'd now pulled her master into. Eyes widened in shock as her arms/hands retreated back to herself as she quickly made a distance between them. "My apologies..." Saber blurted out in haste, bowing slightly before moving her attention to the sky. She had gotten out of place just then, sharing such close quarters with her master when it wasn't needed. It had probably made the magi feel rather uncomfortable a top that, having to be pressed against her cold hard armor for so long. The blonde could only continue to stare at the sky why this thought went through her mind, before another came. If Rin had truly been in discomfort, wouldn't she have pushed her away without a word? Such was the ways she normally went around things, but no objection to the contact had been made. Gah, she shouldn't get her hopes up for something she didn't fully understand yet.

Rin tapped her foot playfully while watching the spaced out form of her knight. What exactly was going through the blonde's head right now from these actions? Had she merely sensed another servant nearby and became defensive? Or was there something more? Her mouth opened to bluntly ask this question before closing when all contact between the two of them vanished. Her hands dropped back to her sides then as an apology was given. The woman couldn't help but sigh and shake her head a bit. "No, its fine Saber." It wasn't like she had anything against the contact anyway, but those types of thoughts could be used later as she noted the change in color within the sky, looks like the dark had decided to roll in while she enjoyed herself.

"Shall we get going now Shirou~?" It hadn't been made out in the open yet, but she would prefer the male as an alley rather then an enemy. On top of that, she didn't think she'd be able to fight him with a clear mind right now after what had gone on in the school on the steps. The feeling of his lips and hands against her were still fresh in her mind, and sent small chills down her when thought about. It was the same feeling that came when Saber held her, something to enjoy and yet fear all at once.

Saber’s voice seemed to draw Shirou from his seemingly trance-like state; his eyes lingered on her as she suddenly bowed towards her master. He realized he had only taken a moment of thought to himself, but had he missed something? His head lingered subconsciously sidelong as Saber’s attention seemed to focus towards the sky. He couldn’t help but smile as he allowed his left hand to run through his hair. Times like this were worth remembering; Saber and her usual nature of not understanding what was going on. Despite his confusion, Shirou’s imagination was rather playing forth the most likely of the situations. At least, judging by Rin’s confusion… what was Saber thinking to make her believe that Rin might have been… uncomfortable with their closeness? He shook his head; he was simply throwing out random ideas. It was not as if he was a mind reader, though such a gift would be highly appreciated when around the two. His gaze lingered on the blonde knight, before he found himself smiling… he really needed to have better control over his actions. He seemed to always be watching one, without really realizing it, or he was blushing or smiling… they had quite the tight hold upon him. Unfair… he had no idea where he stood within their hearts, if he was there at all. He felt the slight breeze of wind come again, his hair swaying slightly as his head followed in the direction it traveled.

Lifting his head and gaze towards the magi, he nodded and stood. “Whenever you’re ready, of course.” He smiled a simple smile before he wondered whether it would now be the three of them. Now that he thought about it, he did not suppose Rin would wish to be without Saber, would she? Shirou took a step back, still glancing at the two before he shrugged rather, precariously and threw his hands behind his head. Would it be that much of a problem if Saber knew just how many times, he had visited her grave? There had been other things, he wished to speak to Rin about, but they could always wait… right? Another step as his copper eyes lingered on them, before a slight frown. Maybe he couldn’t wait… but what was it, he wished to tell her… or Saber? "Am I foolish?” He had whispered the words to himself as he rolled his gaze towards the sidewalk and then laughed at his own question. Of course he was.

A small sigh of relief came from her when hearing those words. At least nothing bad had come from her taking such close contact with her, or had it? She really wasn't sure what the emotion that had run through her heart had been. It could have felt nice then, but might turn out to be something bad in the end. Why was the blonde having so much trouble with something that seemed to be so simple? Her brow furrowed in her anger while the conversation between the two 'teens' continued onward without her. Saber didn't mind at the moment though, since there was more she had to discover and find out. Yet trying to do so now wasn't going to help her one bit, maybe if given a chance to be alone... "Rin, may I leave now?" This was something the knight didn't wish to wait on but solve now for it might prove to be fatal later on. Emotions weren't her strong point to begin with, so this would take some time. For now it would be best to just watch the two from the shadows while she thought stuff over.

"I've been ready, you were the one slacking off against a tree!" Rin huffed out in defense at what she'd been doing earlier. Probably not a smart way to react since it might make the other question, but if he did she would just ignore it. With this much decided she began to walk, carefully to hold the side of her head while the wind blew, not wanting to have her black locks flowing every which way eh? It would be a pain to try and straighten out after, and even more so when she finally got around to brushing it later at night.

Her walking came to stop when hearing the request of Saber though. Azure eyes traveled to meet with emerald as they seemed to have a silent conversation. A small frown forming on the mouth of the woman. She couldn't 'read' nor figure out why the knight suddenly wished to leave, but she wasn't going to hold her here. "Sure, just don't go too far." For all Rin knew they might get attacked, and she would be in need of the blond then.

Rin’s comment caused a bit of surprise, but nothing too unexpected as he glanced into her azure eyes for the moment. He sighed before turning on his heel and facing ahead. “I guess, that’s true isn’t it? Whatever was I thinking by keeping you both waiting?” He smiled to himself before a slight rolling of his eyes. There would have been no point in trying to argue with her; Shirou had known Rin well enough to know that if he decided to react to her words, she’d merely brush them off or continue her accusations. Neither of which, Shirou was particularly wanting to hear at the moment, despite the smile that was being brought to his lips from the thought.

Saber’s request to leave caused Shirou to stop, his head turning back to look at the blonde servant before Rin allowed her such permission. She did not wish to stay with them, then? He glanced at them both, before a slight frown pulled at his facial features. “Guess I’ll see you later then, Saber…” He blinked some, before smiling. How he wished he could hold her within his arms; they had yet to even touch each other since their rekindling of sorts. A sort of depressing thought, as his eyes grew rather solemn at the images of them together, in the previous war. He glanced at Rin, waiting for her to catch up with him; thinking of Saber was beginning to be painful. They were so distance now, it seemed…

Her own gaze didn't falter a bit while her master took the time to stare her down. She felt as if there was another reason behind this, but stayed silent till she was allowed to leave. It was then that her attention turned to Shirou. Even if he tried to hide it, she could still see the small frown forming on his face. It was nice to at least know her presence would be missed from both sides. Her own smile forming, opposite of his frown, when hearing his goodbye. "Alright Shirou." How nice to hear that she would be getting a later instead of a forever goodbye. It brought a little joy to her before she turned and left in a swift jump, easily scaling the closet building without looking back.

Of course if she had looked back she would have seen Rin watching her go the whole way. For some reason she wasn't able to keep her eyes off the blonde whenever she was around. Even in the past war when the servant wasn't hers, attention was always on her first and then everyone else. She wondered why that was as she finally turned around and began to walk with Shirou once more. The atmosphere had changed a bit because of the blonde's coming and going, but over all it was still the same as before. Well, Rin wasn't hot anymore.~

Despite his frown, she was smiling at him. He... he could honestly say that he had not seen her so genuine towards him in a long while. It was something he missed… something he longed for and wanted always, but that was so far out of his reach now. Saber… she was out of Shirou’s reach now and possibly forever. Watching her turn and leave, Shirou’s gaze lowered slightly, before seeing the magi out of his peripheral vision. She was watching her as well. For a longer time as she finally found herself able to face forward. Something was nagging at Shirou as he glanced at Rin, but he could hardly find himself able to speak what was pulling at the very roots of his mind… and his heart. He sighed heavily before tilting his head back to look up at the stars. “You’re… lucky.” He did not glance at her as he said those words, but merely continued walking. She was very lucky and Shirou knew it. Whether she understood why, would be up to her, but Shirou could not help but think that Saber was lucky as well; they were lucky to have each other. All the while though, Shirou had nothing. It didn’t feel as though he really had anyone – saying and realizing such a thing almost made Shirou think there came a crack in his split heart – though that was a lie, wasn’t it? Rin and Saber… they were at the very least his friends and then, though he had not thought of her in a while… there was someone else, who was dedicated towards the redhead. How wrong was it to have not even thought of his own servant, this entire time? His teeth clenched in annoyance as he closed his eyes and lowered his gaze towards the ground.

Ack. It looked like Shirou might have caught her staring at her servant. Wait, why did that matter in the first place? The blonde was her servant, so she could stare however much she liked at the girl now! ". . ." Why was her mind becoming so defensive over something so stupid? A small sigh escaped Rin as she finally caught up to the male, only to hear his words. Her calmed face soon went to once stone cold as her pace slowed a second before picking up once more. "I'm far from lucky." No tease given, just a monotone voice to show how she felt on those words. There was nothing lucky about Tohsaka Rin, nor in being her either. Who would want to have her life anyway? No father, no mother, and a sister that by magical law didn't belong to her any longer though she wished her to. Yet her she was, alone in the world once more.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 27, 2009 11:51 pm

The small sigh left Rin as he glanced up at her, watching her face calm as she took in his words. It seemed that it soon left that state of tranquility however as she spoke… growing rather cold as she spoke her four words. The monotonous nature about her caused him to stop simply out of surprise. “You’re wrong, Rin.” He knew how difficult life had been for her, but she was still lucky. She really did not seem to understand just how lucky she was; she had turned out rather well… better than just well. He remembered her in high school, being so popular though he could honestly say that not everyone thought that of her. He had continued walking as to catch up with the magi, before he sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Despite all that you’ve been through… the suffering and the pain, you’re strong. Stronger than anyone I know… if you don’t count Servants.” He allowed a slight laugh to escape him as he bit his lip for a moment. “You’re lucky because you can deal with anything thrown at you. You’re not alone in this world, unlike me. You have someone who cares about you more than they might realize, and you feel the same way about them, I think.” He smiled, allowing his gaze to focus on the gleaming stars once more. If she thought otherwise, than she had not grown at all. She had so much before her, yet she did not seem to realize it. It did not surprise Shirou though… not at all.

"Hn. For someone who isn't alone I sure feel like it." True she had friends and what not, but at times even the grand Tohsaka wished to have something more, to have just one special person there. Yet such a thing wasn't in her reach no matter where she went. No that was wrong, it was always in her reach, she was just picky. The one, or possibly two things she wanted were to far away right now. No matter how fast she tried to run she just couldn't reach them. Or at least that was how she'd been thinking through her life till this grail war began. Now it seemed that one of the two noticed her, and they stopped to wait. The only problem being that she didn't know which was waiting, and which was moving on without her into the dark to be alone like she'd just been. Why couldn't she get both to stop though? Was it impossible to keep both? Of course it was, now the magi was just being selfish.

"Maybe, but you are wrong it saying you're alone Shirou." She responded with a small turn and smile back at him before going front and center once more. It made her wonder if in someones mind she was the one who kept walking while another waited, or if she was the one waiting. It seemed time would tell her this answer eventually, and her steps would finally catch up to another.

She felt like it, did she? Was that simply because… Perhaps that was the case, but that changed quite a few things within the youth’s mind. It almost seemed as though Rin was in the situation he was in, years ago. She had a far better chance however; the war was simply beginning and as much pain as it might be if the same thing were to occur to Rin, at least she would have had something, he couldn’t. A rolling of his eyes as he stared at her; his copper eyes holding her own gaze as they both seemed to stop for a moment. “You’re lonely because you’re letting yourself be. Are you going to allow what you want to vanish or will you reach out and grab it?” His gaze lingered for a moment before he sighed and smiled, faintly. “You’ve never seemed like the type to not take what you want.” Why was he telling her all of this? Helping her… to go after Saber. Had he learned nothing from always sticking himself out there and helping others?

…why am I thinking this way? He had always thought of his friends first. This was just another one of those times, no matter what might come of it, right? She had smiled at him as she countered his words and Shirou couldn’t help but seem somewhat surprised. He couldn’t help but feel as though he should have been saying what she had stated earlier. It was he, who wasn’t lucky. He was the alone one as Rin had what he wanted… and so did Saber. They had each other and he could only merely watch. Watch their happiness. He would gladly accept that; they were master and servant now and it seemed as though there was more to it, than simply that. “I’m alone, Rin. I’ve been alone… for three years now. Even though I’ve been thinking that perhaps, that might be changeable, I don’t know anymore.” He smiled as he continued walking; his home was now in view as he found himself growing nostalgic at its appearance.

“It’s nice to finally be home again…”

Time felt like it was standing still as they continued to talk on. As his words seemed to grow more detailed, she wondered exactly what it was he was trying to say. It irked her a little to even have the thought that he was trying to lecture her. Before his mouth even opened to talk about others, he should look in the mirror and solve his own problems first. In her own anger she ignored him now though her ears still picked up his voice. That mouth of his really needed to shut itself before she made it shut. Where was he to tell her this type of thing? He didn't even know what was going through her head right now, let alone her heart, and yet here he was trying to tell her what to do. So did that mean the one walking away from her was Shirou? Well, she wouldn't let him get away that easily, she'd make him stop and face her just like Saber.

It was then that she turned on her heels, standing right in his way from their walk. The house was so close now, just beyond her shoulder, but the thought of going inside wasn't at the top of her list anymore. "I suggest you take all your guidance and use it on yourself!" Rin snapped out at the male, not carrying how harsh it may have come off as. She just wasn't in the mood to put up with his guilt trips any longer. She'd wasted a whole war with it, and didn't want to have to live through another one. "I already told you you're not alone... but you just don't get it do you?" The woman's next sentence thankfully didn't come out like the first. It seemed all had been vented in that, and now the blasted "warm" side of her was beginning to show. The glare from before melting into nothing more then depression and a frown as well.

No response was given to her with that, just the empty silence as the wing decided to blow once more. Her hand raised once more to stop her hair from blowing as she turned away from him, her eyes watching till the very last second. "And here I thought you did." The magi mumbled more to herself then the boy named Emiya Shirou behind her as she made her way to the house alone, she was always alone, how unlucky.

He had stopped abruptly, blinking as she stood before him. He didn’t know what had caused him to ramble on in the first place, but now he was ‘paying’ for it. He simply looked down at her as she snapped at him; his gaze lingering to the side as she snapped at him. He bit his bottom lip as she continued onwards. Yet she seemed to have calmed herself already… and oddly enough, it were those words that stayed with him. The more warm side to the magi as she frowned and turned away from him; he could only stare at her back as he sighed and found himself not understanding what he was supposed to say. Maybe… maybe he did not get it. He wanted to… more than anything, but how could he ever understand when she never told him anything? What was there for him to get, when she had suddenly vanished out of his life; she had completely left him with not even a goodbye and she was implying that he was not alone… that maybe she was also with him? How could he possibly accept it?

The wind blew causing his hair to sway as she spoke again. He simply watched her before a sigh escaped him. How was he supposed to understand things like this? If he was not alone, then she was not either. She had begun walking towards the house, before he suddenly reached out, his hand grabbing hold of her own as he stopped her. “Maybe I do understand… tell me how I’m not alone though. Tell me who’s keeping that from happening and I’ll tell you why you’re not alone.” His copper eyes stared at her, with a sense of tranquility within them as he smiled faintly. His hand released hers as he stared at the frown, pulling at her lips. He could hardly help himself from allowing a finger to trace across the pair, before he quickly moved it against her cheek. Was he pushing his luck? He found himself frowning a bit at that thought as he turned his gaze towards his house, only feet away.

Why did he always have to be so stupid? Such an idiot? Normally such things wouldn't get to her like they were now, but she actually found herself pissed at the male. Always putting others before himself without thinking through what he might want instead. Well this time she would force him to think about what it was he wanted and already had. But all the help she would give him were given with her last set of words. Her goal now was to just make it into the house and lock herself up in a room a bit, maybe vent her anger out on a spare pillow or futon. Rin made to take another step forward before finding her hand had been stolen away. That familiar shiver and heat that came from his touch returned, but she ignored it until she was spun to face him.

The magi's frown only increased with time as she glared at him a bit. Yet as time went on and she processed what he had to share, her anger began to decreased before completely vanishing when feeling his finger across her lips. How desperately she wished to know why Shirou had such an affect on her, yet at the same time she didn't for such a thing would hurt the blonde in her life. "If you understand then I don't need to tell you..." No teasing or tricks, this time it was her own honest truth. She didn't care to know why she wasn't alone, she already had a strong feeling behind why that was. Rin's hand reached up, touching the bottom of his chin lightly before her other hand joined it to cup his face and bring it to her level. "Besides, you should already know.~"

He might have been wrong… in everything. His words, his actions, but they were all from his heart; did that still make them wrong? Perhaps he was taking the wrong path; he was simply reacting towards his emotions at the moment and found himself speaking without thinking. Shirou still had yet to speak what was truly upon his mind though. What it was that truly plagued the redhead and forced these words and actions of his. It was easier said than done, certainly, but it would only become more difficult if he were to prolong his feelings… for both the magi before him and the blonde servant, he had loved since long ago. His eyes remained on her own azure orbs as her glare decreased and fully vanished. A slight smile as he felt a sense of warmth flood through his body; he would have hated for her to remain angry at him. He could hardly just sit around his own home and let her anger ruin the night… He sighed lightly, before shaking his head. “I only said I might know… I want you to confirm whether what I’m thinking is right or not.”

He wondered whether there was reason behind her not answering, but he wouldn’t press her; she had already grown angry at Shirou once. He found a slight bit of surprise as her hand touched his face; he could almost feel it burning where her hands touched as she spoke, yet her words affected him differently. Maybe he should… but he wasn’t sure. How could he be sure? What was right before, didn’t seem quite so certain now. Rin had complicated things, though not in a manner, that Shirou could find himself upset… perhaps far from it. Yet the fact of the matter was that he was confused… stuck at the crossroads of his life, so it seemed. He frowned slightly as his gaze averted slightly, before a small smile shown upon his face. “I think we’ve been endangering ourselves by being out so long. Are you ready to go inside?”

So now they were playing some twisted game of words and emotions with each other? Each didn't want to give an actual answer since both were uncertain on what may happen after. Rin knew she couldn't be the only one feeling some sort of emotion for her blonde knight, and she didn't wish to just jump into Shirou's arms when that other corner had yet to be explored. For all she knew the emotions held for Saber could be greater, and then look what a mess she would have caused? The man before her would be hurt from being played with, her servant might even reject her for doing such a thing. And then she would be left alone, oh wait, according to Shirou she wasn't eh~?

"I can't give a confirming answer to something I don't even know yet." This was the best answer she could give him while playing stroking his cheeks and face with her fingers. The middle ones of the group playing a bit with the sides of his hair that she could reach. Even if this wasn't a smart move to be taking, she couldn't help but do it anyway. "And I hate to be a sitting duck..." The magi agreed with his words with a small nod as her hands retreated back to her and she turned around once more to walk into the house. This time a hand didn't reach out to stop her either.
