Aya got the distinct impression that the new boy-what did he say his name was? Lysander?-was the kind of guy that would rather be left alone, so, instead of introducing herself-which she thought was kind of rude-she kept staring out the window as the limo drove on.

Mort jumped a little when Ainsley addressed him. He didn't like the new guy, he had the same kind of look as his martial arts instructor- deadly, angry and wanting to be anywhere else. It was like sitting in the same cage as a tiger.
"Ah...I don't know. I suppose we could play 'I spy' or some such, but I doubt everyone would be able to see out a window... Perhaps we should just talk?"
He looked over at Aya and bowed his head respectfully. "Ayaka, you have not spoken much, what would you like to talk about?"

Aya, used to being the one that was always ignored, didn't know how to reply. "J-Just call me Aya," she said. She didn't know what else to say.

(( rofl Being with my character has been likened to sitting in a cage with a tiger. I feel happy now. )) When he heard the guy (Mortimer, was it?) say something about more talking, Lysander unintentionally let breathed out his nose loudly, giving off the distinct feeling of dissatisfaction. Lysander had rather hoped that he wouldn't have to deal with others, or at least this close to others. Lysander finished with a fairly nice and complex trick, flicking his yo-yo up in the air, which somehow from the spin or something made the string that Lysander oh-so-smoothly slipped off his finger spin neatly into it's own crevice, and when it fell down, Lysander caught it and pocketed it in one fluid motion. He wasn't even showing off, either, it was something he had always worked on and he rarely ever did right. Lysander then reached into his other pocket, pulling out headphones and plugging them in his ears. He sagged in his seat and began playing the pulsating beat of Du Hast by Rammstein. He crossed his arms across his chest, let his head hang down and closed his eyes. At least he could get a nap in.

(( Always happy to brighten someone's day. ^.~ Sorry if this post's short, there's not much for me to do...))
Mort's eyes fell. "But Ayaka is such a beautiful name...Okay then, I won't press you."
He turned to Ainsley. "Do you have any hobbies, miss? I like to read and draw in my spare time."

Anna let herself turn into a space case as she produced a notebook and a pencil from her bag, flipped to a plain page, and started drawing in a picture of Corporal Giroro being squeezed like a plushie by Natsumi, inducing him to blush madly. She was thinking about whether or not she should draw in Sergent Major Kururu aiming some sort of gun that was shooting hearts and Natsumi and laughing, but mid-Kururu she stopped dead as Mort noted that he liked drawing as well. OK, two options. Option A):She could continue drawing, and hope he noticed on his own. Option B):She could strike up a conversation. She wanted to go with B. She really did. But she knew for a fact that, if she tried, she would probably say something like 'phlargmeh', which would make her sound like an idiot. Therefore, she lowered her head, a failing attempt to hide the embarrassing drawing idea, and continued adding the yellow alien in.

((If you're a little lost right about now, know that all of the characters they're discussing is from Keroro Gunso. Me and Flan-san are friends and we happen to like that show. Just know that they're talking about famous characters from a crack anime. ))
Mort glanced over at Anna and noted the characters in her notebook. His eyes lit up with glee as he recognized the sketches as one of his favorite animes.
"Ah! That's Kururu isn't it! I love him, he's absolutely daft! Can you draw Dororo in? He's such a cool guy! I mean, not only is he an alien, but he's a ninja too!"
With that Mort began to make ninja imitations, an awkward affair that involved moving his arms in random snakelike patterns and throwing imaginary shuriken at invisible foes.

Anna blushed when she realized he watched Keroro Gunsou as well. So she wasn't the only Anime nerd in the car. Her blushing had toned down a bit since Mort had first gotten in the limo, now just a pink, but still visible if you looked. She shrugged at the Dororo request, and smirked as he pretended to be a ninja. "Sure. Dororo it is. And Koyuki, as well, since they're hardly away from each other." She paused. "Hell, I'll just draw everyone in somewhere." It was something to do, at least, and something to talk about. She filled in the rest of the paper with, as she said she would, the rest of the currently known cast. Their place in the picture had to do with how important they were to the anime. She had Keroro right in the middle of the page, playing with Gundam models, with Tamama and Mois watching. Dororo was sitting in a corner, having a Trauma switch, Koyuki was watching Natsumi with mild interest, Paul adjusting a chainsaw killer mask while Momoka clung to Fuyuki in pretend fear, Aki arriving home from work, Saburo looking rejected and glaring at Giroro, and in the back, a T.V. with Sumomo singing on it.

Mortimer laughed and clapped his hands together. "Splendid! I can't draw them you know. It must be something in the proportions."
He noted Anna's blush and leaned in closer, inspecting. "Are you okay? You look a little pink, is it too hot in here or something?"

((Nice, Luci. As long as you like your character, I guess that's all that counts. And thank you FV--I think I got a headache from all of those random characters I'd never heard about.))
The brunette couldn't help but blink as random names flew from the two's mouths. Based on the Japanese sound of them, she could tell that they were from some anime, but it had been a couple of years since she had watched any animes. A while ago, Yu Yu Hakusho and InuYasha had been high on her favorite lists, but as they were canceled on Cartoon Network, and the cable bill became too high, she had forgotten about them. Ainsley shook her head, thinking Mort's innocence was adorable. But she did feel bad for Anna, it was hard to be put on the spot like that. So in an attempt to help her, she commented, "I'm a little warm too, can anyone find the button to start the air conditioner?" Her/her mother's car did not have power locks or windows. And they're radio only occasionally came on. She was a little intimidated by the variety of buttons, even if they were fascinating. And she was in fact freezing. Her school uniform was much shorter than she really would have liked, and her last pair of stockings had far too many holes in them. So she shaved and went without them. Now, her legs were covered in goosebumps she hoped no one would notice.

The rapid movement of Mort made vibrations in the car, which was enough to stir Lysander from his quickly-induced coma. As he always did when he woke up, he growled, eyes slowly lifting open, he watched Mort finish his motions, imitating a ninja, he believed. Lysander stopped his music in time to hear the girl ask for the air conditioner. Lysander, who had been in a limo once or twice before, immediately reached for the correct button when he realized. It wasn't all that warm in the limo. In fact, Lysander remember noticing, she had goosebumps on her legs. Now that he looked now, she still had goosebumps. He made an inquisitive look with a bit of smile. The first smile he donned since he entered the limo. "Really? You're warm? Because the goosebumps on your legs say otherwise."

Aya, feeling left out of the conversations as everyone seemed to forget that she was there(like always), pulled out a small case from her bag. She opened it, revealing an ocarina. She picked it up and inspected in for any damage.

Ainsley turned and met his eyes. She decided that she didn't like him. Not at all. Normally she would have just shied away, but she stood up for her friends, which Anna had been classified as. "My arms are warm, the air conditioning can be angled higher." She knew that it was a slightly silly excuse, but it was the best she could improvise.
She couldn't keep his gaze, and her head turned quickly to Aya's. "Ohh....what's that?" Her eyes sparkled, she always loved music. She had befriended the bouncers at the local club, and they'd let her sneak into the back and listen to the bands. But this instrument was nothing like any they'd played. In fact, it almost looked like the Ocarina of Time...was it?

"Oh... This is an ocarina. I've always loved ocarinas, so I tried to play it. I'm not very good yet, though," Aya answered modestly. It was pretty obvious that she didn't have very much confidence in her own abilities.

Ainsley grinned, "Ooo, I'd thought so." Her face turned into an adorable puppy beg, "Please play it, I'll throw a book at anyone who laughs." She picked up the heaviest in her lap, The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, and tried to look intimidating.
