Cooper waggled his tail happily and followed after the man like a little puppy. Whatever he did was really interesting, he had decided this a while back. Such actions and noise followed him. Perhaps more food would be in order if he behaved. Yes, such prospects fueled him at the moment.

Bones stirred a bit when Veil moved, her ears sensitive to sounds. From the hallway were heavy footsteps...and she already knew who it was before he came into view. Her smile widening to show her fangs, her eyes flickered in happiness. He was okay. A weight seemed to lift for the moment from her mind, until she glanced at the limp young man beside her. He was still fairing quite badly.

Adriel patted Cooper's head as he walked to the empty greenhouse and stepped in. He smiled slightly at Veil as he walked over to the two on the mattresses. Checking quickly over the man, he gave a thoughtful look as he rested a cold hand on Bones' forehead. "....His fever hasn't gone down, nor up..." He clicked his tongue disapprovingly. "...Alrighty then, to a cold bath with you."

Daniel groaned as he stood by the doorway, shaking his head. "Adriel, go back to bed...." He almost whined. "pleeeease..."

Veil placed a hand on the healers wrist with urgency, gripping it slightly. Eyes lit with concern looking from Bones' motionless form to Dr. Hart, she spoke her reasoning. "He doesn't do well with cold." Almost to agree, Bones furrowed his brow a bit and shifted in his weak state. Although he was truly unaware of the goings on, Veil went to speak for him. She watched Adriel, wondering what he'd do. She knew the fever had to go down, but there must be another way.

Adriel sighed and muttered under his breath about humans as he looked over the rocket. "Look, we have to get this fever down. He has no infection anywhere in his body, but his body is acting as if he did. He needs a cold bath, and I mean cold. He won't be in it long and fluff ball of fire over there can dry him up just as soon as I am satisfy with his progress. But he needs lower his fever."He sighed. " If we just put packs of cold vegetables all over him to lower the fever gradually, he will get an infection and then he might actually lose movement in one arm."

Veil sighed knowing there was no real way around it, but she could have at least tried. Oh the discomfort that awaited her Rocket friend. Panting away under his shredded shirt, Bones still was unresponsive. Cooper nosed at Adriel's arm, trying to urge him into action. Something needed to be done, or Bones might just turn into his name. "Okay." She nodded. "How can I help?"

Adriel rose to his feet. "Just stay here with him, he seems calmer with you here. I'll go prepare the bath." Walking away, he grabbed Daniel to follow.

"What about you? Should we throw you into a hot bath?" Daniel said with little humor in his voice.

"what do you mean?"

"Adriel, you are freezing."

"I am not." The healer rolled his eyes. "Go to the nearest bathroom and start filling the tub with cold water."

"Aye, aye, Captian Stupid." The teenager dodge a hit on the back of head and went off towards the bathroom while Adriel went to the kitchen and began filling a deep pot with ice.

After a while, Adriel went to the bathroom his adoptive brother was in and looked at the tub, it was still filling. Pouring in the ice, he waited a few moments before dipping his arm in. Withought shivering, he gave his nod of approval. "This will do." Removing his hand, he went to go get Bones.

Daniel looked at the water and ice and opted against testing the water himeslf.

After the pair left the room, Veil looked to the fire canine and nodded at him, knowing he thought the same. Adriel's temperature was too low. Much lower and it could put him into shock. Clicking her tongue in a disproving manner, Veil sighed and tugged off Bones hip side bag. If it got wet, he'd be mad. Today it seemed that Veil was playing the waiting game.

Bones was semi-aware of the things around him, but mainly he was swimming in a large haze. Unsure and just drifting, several times he tried to get his mind going and force his eyes to open. The fever had seemed to weld them shut, much to his annoyance. Grunting a bit, his chest rose as he took a deeper than normal breath, his eyes fluttering. All it was was a slitted opening between the lids, and Veil could see that he was still in a bad state. When he was doing bad, mentally, physically...whatever, the truth always shown in his eyes. The transparent gaze and lack of color meant his sight was very thin and weak, so not on a path to healing. Just yet.

Adriel walked back to the greenhouse and over to the mattress. He looked over the man, pointly seeing that one of the stitches had come loose. Shaking his head, he would deal with that another time, when he wasn't feeling like he could run three miles and collapse in the next two steps at the same time.

He gingerly picked up the injure rocket into his arms, noticing that for a man that was shy two or three inches of himself, he was quiet much lighter. He ponder why he notice now, but decided that such thoughts should be kept for saner times as he walked towards the bathroom. His brother had gone off with Cooper, Faraon and Writer to finish off the rest of the stew, so the bathroom was empty when he arrive.

Holding the man still as he went up to the tub, his mind remind him of something. A certain kiss in revenge for a poisoning. Well, the man was probably delirious and but would be awake in a few seconds when Adriel was to put him down on the tub. He ponder to himself quietly and decided to take his vengeance now.

He didn't ask for any forgiveness to any god as he normally did when he leaned down, brushing his thin lips against the rocket's before pressing against them fully. It was a second later that his vicious tongue parted his lips, licking over the younger man's before snaking its way into the dazed man's mouth.

Despite outwards appearances, Bones had been doing quite well for recovering from such an injury. His limp form was weak and seemingly beyond repair, but what wasn’t hurt was working overtime to regenerate what WAS. His mind had locked off to prevent him from stirring and moving about and hurting himself further. Actually in his mind he’d been dreaming the whole while, in his state of half-awareness. Taking in actual events and translating them into a way that his disabled mind could understand. Aside from the occasional nightmarish flicker from the pain in his shoulder seeping up, it’d been a normal dream. Vicodin aside.

In this world outlined with haze, he was back at home. Laying sprawled on his futon back at his apartment, the sun seemed to have been beating down on him a lot through some unforeseen window. Bones knew this because he was really hot and quite unhappy about this. Limbs lazing off the side of the beat up resting place, he just seemed to try to pant the heat out but was losing. A tightness in his shoulder felt like knives being twisted. Not to mention he couldn’t really move his body properly to get out of the blazing light anyways. It wouldn’t listen to him, not even when he uttered unprintable words to try to motivate himself. The burning light…it followed him wherever he went in the room if he managed to move.

It was his fever.

There were blurs in his mind of Veil standing in the room with a slight chuckle, but whenever his faded eyes went to track her movements she disappeared like a mirage. Whenever crippled in some way, Peter took from Paul to make it even…as the saying goes. If injured severely, his sight would go out in order to restore other parts of him faster. In the back of his mind Bones knew this fact (even in the state he was in), and let the irritation of not being able to see her face directly go. She was safe, and this contented him.

But then he felt something….a feeling of weightlessness. Was he dying?

No, because it was more like he was being moved. Carried. Ah, he knew this feeling. He felt all collected like when he slept in a bed on the rare occasion. Weightless, but captured and under control of something else. In the case of a bed, it was under the sheets of the furniture. A reason why he hated them. It was this feeling he knew he was experiencing, but didn’t like it in general. But this case he was happy to be identifying the madness that was slipping through his brain.

He was being carried.

Our minds have ways of identifying what’s happening to our bodies when we’re asleep. If we fall out of bed, we can dream we’ve fallen to our death. In the midst of floating through the haze-around-the-edges- world, Bones wondered why he was in his bed. It must have been early or something, because he wasn’t awake yet. And it was still an uncomfortable temperature in the room. Then before anything else seemed to register, he felt like he was suffocating. Something was brushing up against his mouth, and his first thought was that Cooper was licking at him, trying to wake him to be fed…and he’d simply fallen asleep with his mouth open. Again. Many a morning he was awoken like this. Cooper ended up getting his food while Bones brushed his teeth extra long afterwards.

But…his mind started to click as he wasn’t getting any air still. This couldn’t be Cooper. It was too…

Too precise.

Pulling back, Bones eyes flickered as he now was registering everything in his mind. He wasn’t at home, this wasn’t anything he thought it was. A weft of silver hair in his face, and a purr he thought he heard just confirmed it. It’s really amazing how alert someone can be with just a measured shot of adrenaline.

Immediately, Bones pulled back, unlocking his mouth with the healers and setting his jaw firmly shut with a snarl. Calling into use his damaged arms for what they were worth he tried to push him away from wherever they were. Bones didn’t even take time to account for the fact that he was really in actuality, being carried.

More stitches groaned and snapped dangerously, his wound on the verge of reopening from the sudden panicked movements. His weak form from only seconds before was suddenly imbued with power that stemmed from rage, his face starting to light with color. An overload to his mind, and forcing his body over the line, his heart that had been just jumpstarted skipped a beat as his fussing…which forced Adriel to lose his already compromised grip. It all happened in slow motion.

Headed to the floor, Bones hit shoulder first. A gale force of wind evacuated his lungs as his eyes flashed wide-open in a pure expression of pain. Immediately grasping his more injured arm with his opposing hand, he tried to curl up as tightly as he could out of defense. Evidently it was all he had left. His abnormal strength was already sapped as fast as it came, leaving him a pile of bloody glares and growls on the floor. His cheek rested against the cool tile as he panted away, and just eyed the healer…knowing he’d executed his revenge.

Adriel had expected some fight back, he had expected something, however, his tired mind had not taking in count how debilitated he himself was. His arms reached out and gripped the sink as he stumbled backwards, his legs tried to collapse but he manage to rise back up.

His dark purple eyes took in the image before him, he felt his whole mind, monster and all, cheer in silent victory. He mentally noted he was doing something he hadn't done in years, he was(with the lack of better word), purrrring. He felt the light sound vibrating through his chest still. But he snapped himself out of his own mental victory dance and looked over Bones, this time without the glint of winning in his revenge, but the concern a healer could only show. Straightening himself up, he swore he heard some of the stitches snapped. Definitely needed to work on those once the fever was down.

Without soothing word, or apology, because Adriel believed Bones got what he deserved for using such dirty trick as a poison blade, he picked the man up. "Caution, cold water" He said simply before gingerly putting the man down on the icy water. "And you are staying in it until my say so." He growled in a commanding voice.

Bones had started to protest but the shock of the icy water hitting his fevered skin took his breath away, completely stifling any comeback. The water was like sheets of nails smacking him where ever it touched his body, in an unrelenting wave that was quite unforgiving. He willed his body to move, and even if it would have listening the surge of temperature change had been done. His fight was gone, his body had been through too much today.

Head leaning against the back of the tub, it was cold but not nearly as the water. His fever blazed in fury, his face flushing and eyes hazing. Only his broken breaths created ripples in the water around him, for the rest of him was still and limp. Completely without power. His eyes glazed a bit as the fever fought the coolness that was sinking into him now, as if he was hollow. His torn open shoulder bled somewhat, the entrails of red making tye-dye patterns around him like a film on the water.

The healer kept him there, his eyes locked on the blood, in sick fascination at the rippling designs. He knew this was the best way to break the man's fever, water robbed people from their warm a lot faster then air could. Well, at least Bones' shoulder would be numb by the time he had to work on it.

After he was sure it had been long enough, he pulled the man out of the water, now being robbed of his own warmth as the cold water dripped onto him. He walked onto the hall and whistle. "Cooper, ya mutt, get in here and dry your sorry excuse of owner before he gets pneumonia!"

Cooper was already in mid-bound down the hall, more agile than average arcanine. Stopping in the doorway he tilted his head in question at the healer, for the smell of blood that wafted towards him. Amber eyes scanning the room, he quickly spotted Bones shivering form lying on the messy tiled floor. Reading the heat levels in the room, he noticed that Bones fever was dropping by force…and this inkling made his tail wag a bit. However, still reading his ears perked at Adriel. This man was going to suffer the same fate if he wasn’t warmed up sooner rather than later.

Head butting Dr. Hart into the bathroom, he filled the doorway with his bulk trapping the pair in the room. He was going to help them heal…he decided with a huffy bark. His fur crackling with heat, the steam was even burned out with a small sizzle as in a flash wave, everything became dry. Tongue lazing out of his mouth, revealing the reversed ‘R’ burned in there, he panted happily as he very gradually started to raise the temperature in the room. Slowly he’d try to heat their bodies from the inside out so as not to shock them.

In the meantime Bones muttered nonsense to himself through blue lips. His mind was restarting, and calculating the events that transpired…still. What irritated him the most wasn’t just that he was kissed; it was that he couldn’t even complain that is was a completely awful kiss. Apparently, Adriel was good at kissing…from what he…gathered. He coughed a bit at that thought.

Slipping his eyes shut Bones set his jaw and furrowed his brow. Why did he have to find that out? He honestly could have lived his whole life not knowing that fact about the healer. His face changed colors again as he growled in his throat. He even sensed that he’d been kissed with passion. And that smile he’d grinned at the rocket afterwards let him know that he was amused. On purpose it all was. He huffed at those thoughts, in-between shivers. He damn well was going to sulk.

Adriel arched a brow when he was trapped in bathroom, his eye twitched lightly, he dislike heat, but decided to tolerate the heat wave as he took out the medical kit from the cabinet under the sink and went up to Bones. He undid the bandages and pulled off the compress. He growled at what found.

Taking the stitches apart would be unnecessary trouble for himself and Bones. He made sure to tied off the string, to keep the still holding stitches where they were. He prepare the needle and string and restitch the rest of the wound, expertly and accurately. Finishing off, he put a new compress over the stitches before bandaging the shoulder and securely, also, strapping Bones' arm to his side so he could no longer pull his stitches.

Through all this, Bones just rested his forehead against the edge of the bathtub still filled with bloody waters. His eyes trained on the tiled floor, they watched the beads of water evaporate from his black hair. His neck was bent slightly down, meaning that his shoulder wound was completely exposed for the one who inflicted the damage to repair it. Again. The cool porcelain helped calm his fever even further, to where his breathing was almost normal and evenly patterned. Despite the occasional held breath due to twinges of pain, he was starting to feel a lot better since the fever broke.

Obeying the healers motions as a marionette would do on stage, he really had no choice in the matter. His body was still so drained of power, his eyes still lacking the luster they usually had. This trauma seemed to shock him into a bit of recovery. His shoulder got tighter with the fresh stitch work holding the wound together tightly and properly. Adriels fingers were cold, but slowly that changed as he worked. With Bones left arm now wrapped to his side and completely immobile, he got the drift that Dr. Hart was less than happy to patch him up again. Still, he was sheepishly grateful that this man was giving him the opportunity to keep his arm. Fight another day. “Thank you.” He muttered under his breath, but forced it out a bit louder to that he wouldn’t have to say it all again. “…for fixing my arm…” he took in a breath and could taste the steam from the evaporated waters. “For saving Veil.”
