Mubquats come from fruit-bearing plants near a path from Magvel, and Kubquats are found near paths from Tellius. Depending on what kind of fruit the plant originally was, it changes both the flavor, and the alchemical potency of both the pulp and seeds inside, as well as the specific effects.
